1 Eta idoley sacrificatzen diraden gaucéz den becembatean, badaquigu ecen guciéc eçagutze badugula: eçagutzeac hancen du, baina charitateac edificatzen.
Concerning now the idol-sacrifices, we know indeed all knowledge we have. Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.
2 Eta baldin edoceinec vste badu cerbait badaquiala, eztu oraino eçagutu deus eçagutu behar den beçala.
If (now *k) anyone thinks (to have known *N+kO) anything, (not yet *N+kO) (no [thing] *k) (he knew *N+kO) even as it is necessary to know;
3 Baina baldin cembeitec Iaincoari on badaritza, hura harçaz iracatsi içan da.
If however anyone loves God, he has known by Him.
4 Bada idoley sacrificatzen diraden gaucén iateaz den becembatean, badaquigu ecen deus eztela idolá munduan, eta eztela berce Iaincoric bat baicen.
Concerning the eating therefore of the idol-sacrifices we know that no [thing] an idol [is] in [the] world and that [there is] no God (other *k) only except one.
5 Ecen iainco deitzen diradenac badirade-ere, bada ceruän bada lurrean (nola anhitz iainco baita, eta anhitz iaun )
Even truly if indeed if indeed there are [those] named gods whether in heaven or on earth, as there are gods many and lords many;
6 Baina guc Iainco Aitabat dugu, ceinaganic baitirade gauça guciac, eta gu hartan: eta Iaun-bat, Iesus Christ, ceinez baitirade gauça guciac, eta gu harçaz.
yet to us [there is] one God the Father of whom [are] the [things] all and we ourselves for Him, and one Lord Jesus Christ through whom [are] the [things] all and we ourselves through Him.
7 Baina ezta gucietan eçagutzea, ecen batzuc idolaren conscientiarequin oraindrano, idoley sacrificatutic beçala iaten duté: eta hayén conscientiá nola ezpaita fermu, satsutzen da.
But not in all [is] this knowledge; Some now (by custom *N+KO) until now of the idol as of an idol-sacrifice eat, and the conscience of them weak being it is defiled.
8 Bada viandác ezgaitu Iaincoaren gogaracotzenago: ecen ian badeçagu-ere, ezgara vkansuago: eta ian ezpadeçagu-ere, eztugu gutiago.
Food however us not (will commend *N+kO) to God; neither (for *ko) if not we shall eat [still] do we come short [then] nor if we shall eat (have we an advantage. *NK+o)
9 Baina beguirauçue çuen puissança hori infirmo diradeney nolazpait scandalotan eztén.
do be careful however lest perhaps the right of you this an occasion of stumbling may become to those (weak. *N+kO)
10 Ecen baldin norbeitec ikus baheça hi eçagutze duanor, iarriric agoela idolén templeco mahainean, infirmo denaren conscientiá ezta instruituren idolari sacrificatu diraden gaucetaric iatera?
If for anyone shall see you who is having knowledge in an idol’s temple eating, surely the conscience of him weak being he will be encouraged the idol-sacrifices to eat?
11 Eta hire eçagutze horreçaz galduren da anaye infirmo dena, ceinagatic Christ hil içan baita?
(Is destroyed *N+KO) (for *N+kO) the [one] who is being weak (through *N+kO) your knowledge, (the *no) brother for whom Christ died.
12 Bada hunela anayén contra bekatu eguiten duçuenean, eta hayén conscientia infirmoa çaurtzen duçuenean, Christen contra bekatu eguiten duçue.
Thus then sinning against the brothers and wounding their conscience being weak, against Christ you sin.
13 Halacotz, baldin viandác ene anayea scandalizatzen badu, eztut ianen haraguiric seculan, neure anayea scandaliza ezteçadançát. (aiōn g165)
Therefore if food snares the brother of mine, certainly not shall I eat meat to the age so that not the brother of mine I may snare. (aiōn g165)
