1 Davudun son sözləri bunlardır: Yessey oğlu Davud deyir, Allahın ucaltdığı adam, Yaqubun Allahının məsh etdiyi, İsrailin sevimli məzmur şairi belə söyləyir:
Now these are the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man who was raised on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said,
2 Rəbbin Ruhu mənim vasitəmlə söylədi, Onun sözü dilimin ucundadır.
The Spirit of the LORD spoke by me, and his word was on my tongue.
3 İsrailin Allahı belə dedi, İsrailin Qayası mənə belə söylədi: İnsanlar üstündə doğruluqla hökm edən, Allah qorxusu ilə səltənət sürən şəxs
The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spoke to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.
4 Buludsuz bir səmada gün doğarkən sübh şəfəqi kimidir, Şüası yağışdan sonra yerdən təzə ot bitirir.
And he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, even a morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear shining after rain.
5 Həqiqətən, mənim evim Allahla belə deyilmi? Çünki O mənimlə əbədi əhd bağladı, Kamil və tam təminatlı əhd bağladı, Qurtuluşumu və arzumu tam həyata keçirməzmi?
Although my house is not so with God; yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure: for this is all my salvation, and all my desire, although he maketh it not to grow.
6 Bütün yaramazlar tikanlar kimi atılacaq. Onlara heç kim əl vurmayacaq.
But the worthless, all of them shall be as thorns thrust away, because they cannot be taken with hands:

But the man that shall touch them must be armed with iron and the staff of a spear; and they shall be utterly burned with fire in the same place.

These are the names of the mighty men whom David had: The Tachmonite that sat in the seat, chief among the captains; the same was Adino the Eznite: he lifted up his spear against eight hundred, whom he slew at one time.
9 Ondan sonra Axoah nəslindən Dodo oğlu Eleazar idi. O, döyüş üçün orada yığılan Filiştlilərə meydan oxunanda Davudun yanındakı «üç igid»dən biri idi. İsraillilər döyüş meydanından geriyə çəkiləndə
And after him was Eleazar the son of Dodo the Ahohite, one of the three mighty men with David, when they defied the Philistines that were there gathered together to battle, and the men of Israel had gone away:
10 Eleazar möhkəm dayandı və qılınc çəkib əlləri taqətdən düşənə qədər Filiştliləri qırdı. Rəbb o gün İsraillilərə böyük qələbə bəxş etdi. İsraillilər onun ardınca yalnız talan malı götürmək üçün qayıtdılar.
He arose, and smote the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand clung to the sword: and the LORD wrought a great victory that day; and the people returned after him only to strip the slain.
11 Ondan sonra Hararlı Age oğlu Şamma idi. Filiştlilər Laxidə yığılmışdılar. Orada mərci əkilən bir tarla sahəsi vardı. Xalq Filiştlilərin önündən qaçdı.
And after him was Shammah the son of Agee the Hararite. And the Philistines were gathered together into a troop, where was a piece of ground full of lentiles: and the people fled from the Philistines.
12 Lakin Şamma tarlanın ortasında durub oranı qorudu və Filiştliləri qırdı. Rəbb İsraillilərə böyük bir zəfər verdi.
But he stood in the midst of the ground, and defended it, and slew the Philistines: and the LORD wrought a great victory.
13 Biçin zamanı otuz başçı arasından «üç igid» Davudun yanına – Adullam mağarasına getdi. Filiştlilərin bir döyüş dəstəsi Refaim vadisində ordugah qurmuşdu.
And three of the thirty leaders went down, and came to David in the harvest time to the cave of Adullam: and the troop of the Philistines encamped in the valley of Rephaim.
14 Bu zaman Davud qalada idi. Filiştlilərin bir keşikçi dəstəsi isə Bet-Lexemdə idi.
And David was then in a strong hold, and the garrison of the Philistines was then in Bethlehem.
15 Davud həsrət çəkərək dedi: «Kaş ki biri Bet-Lexem darvazası yanındakı quyudan mənə içmək üçün su gətirəydi!»
And David longed, and said, O that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate!
16 Bu «üç igid» Filiştlilərin ordugahını yararaq darvazanın yanında olan Bet-Lexem quyusundan su çəkdi və onu götürüb Davuda gətirdi. Lakin Davud bu suyu içmək istəmədi və onu Rəbbə təqdim olaraq yerə tökdü.
And the three mighty men broke through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: nevertheless he would not drink of it, but poured it out to the LORD.
17 O dedi: «Ya Rəbb, bunu etmək qoy məndən uzaq olsun, canlarını təhlükəyə salaraq gedən adamların qanındanmı içəcəyəm?» Buna görə də bu suyu içmək istəmədi. Bunları «üç igid» etmişdi.
And he said, Be it far from me, O LORD, that I should do this: is not this the blood of the men that went in jeopardy of their lives? therefore he would not drink it. These things did these three mighty men.
18 Yoavın qardaşı Seruya oğlu Avişay bu «üç igid»in başçısı idi. O, nizəsini qaldırıb üç yüz nəfəri qırdı. Buna görə də onun adı «üç igid»in adı qədər şöhrətləndi.
And Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was chief among three. And he lifted up his spear against three hundred, and slew them, and had the name among three.
19 Əslində «üç igid»dən daha şöhrətli idi və onlara başçı oldu, lakin «üç igid» kimi deyildi.
Was he not most honourable of three? therefore he was their captain: yet he attained not to the first three.
20 Yehoyada oğlu Benaya da böyük işlər görən igid adam idi. O, Qavseeldən gəlmişdi. Benaya iki Moavlı igidi öldürdü. O, qarlı gündə çuxura enib bir şir öldürdü.
And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man, of Kabzeel, who had done many deeds, he slew two lionlike men of Moab: he went down also and slew a lion in the midst of a pit in time of snow:
21 O həm də qədd-qamətli bir Misirlini vurub öldürdü. Misirlinin əlində nizə vardı. Benaya onun üstünə dəyənəklə getdi və Misirlinin əlindən nizəsini çəkib aldı, onu öz nizəsi ilə öldürdü.
And he slew an Egyptian, a handsome man: and the Egyptian had a spear in his hand; but he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian’s hand, and slew him with his own spear.
22 Bunları Yehoyada oğlu Benaya etdi. Buna görə də onun «üç igid» qədər şöhrəti var idi.
These things did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and had a name among three mighty men.

He was more honourable than the thirty, but he attained not to the first three. And David set him over his guard.

Heleb the son of Baanah, a Netophathite, Ittai the son of Ribai out of Gibeah of the children of Benjamin,
30 Piratonlu Benaya, Qaaş vadilərindən Hidday,
Benaiah the Pirathonite, Hiddai of the brooks of Gaash,
31 Aravalı Avi-Alvon, Barxumlu Azmavet,
Abialbon the Arbathite, Azmaveth the Barhumite,
