1 Davudun dövründə üç il dalbadal qıtlıq oldu. Davud buna görə Rəbbə müraciət edəndə Rəbb dedi ki, bu qıtlıq Şaula və onun qan tökən nəslinə görədir. Çünki o, Giveonluları öldürmüşdü.
Then there was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year; and David enquired of the LORD. And the LORD answered, It is for Saul, and for his bloody house, because he slew the Gibeonites.
2 Padşah Giveonluları çağırdı və onlarla danışdı. Giveonlular İsrail övladları deyildi. Emorlulardan sağ qalan bir xalq idi ki, İsraillilər onları sağ buraxacaqlarına and içmişdilər. Lakin Şaul İsrail və Yəhuda övladları naminə onları ciddi-cəhdlə yox etməyə çalışmışdı.
And the king called the Gibeonites, and said to them; (now the Gibeonites were not of the children of Israel, but of the remnant of the Amorites; and the children of Israel had sworn to them: and Saul sought to slay them in his zeal to the children of Israel and Judah.)
3 Davud Giveonlulara dedi: «Sizin üçün mən nə edə bilərəm? Edilən bu günahı nə ilə təmizləyə bilərəm ki, siz Rəbbin irsinə xeyir-dua verəsiniz?»
Therefore David said to the Gibeonites, What shall I do for you? and how shall I make the atonement, that ye may bless the inheritance of the LORD?
4 Giveonlular ona dedi: «Şaulla onun nəslindən qızıl-gümüş istəmək fikrində deyilik. İsraildə adam öldürmək niyyətində də deyilik». Davud dedi: «Siz nə istəsəniz, onu edərəm».
And the Gibeonites said to him, We will have no silver nor gold of Saul, nor of his house; neither for us shalt thou kill any man in Israel. And he said, What ye shall say, that will I do for you.
5 Onlar padşaha dedi: «Bizi qırıb məhv edən və İsrail ərazisində qalmamaq üçün bizə qəsd quran adamın övladlarından yeddi nəfər bizə verilsin.
And they answered the king, The man that consumed us, and that devised against us that we should be destroyed from remaining within any border of Israel,
6 Rəbbin seçdiyi Şaulun Givea şəhərində onları Rəbbin önündə asaq». Padşah dedi: «Yaxşı, mən onları sizə verərəm».
Let seven men of his sons be delivered to us, and we will hang them up to the LORD in Gibeah of Saul, whom the LORD chose. And the king said, I will give them.
7 Lakin padşah Davud Rəbbin önündə and içdiyi Şaul oğlu Yonatan oğlu Mefiboşetə qıymadı.
But the king spared Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan the son of Saul, because of the LORD’S oath that was between them, between David and Jonathan the son of Saul.
8 Ayya qızı Rispanın Şauldan doğulan iki oğlunu – Armoni ilə Mefiboşeti, bir də Şaulun qızı Meravın Mexolalı Barzillay oğlu Adrieldən doğduğu beş oğlunu padşah götürüb
But the king took the two sons of Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, whom she bore to Saul, Armoni and Mephibosheth; and the five sons of Michal the daughter of Saul, whom she brought up for Adriel the son of Barzillai the Meholathite:
9 Giveonlulara təslim etdi. Giveonlular onları Rəbbin önündə, dağın üstündə asdılar və yeddisi də birlikdə öldü. Onlar biçin vaxtının ilk günlərində, arpa biçini başlanğıcında öldürüldü.
And he delivered them into the hands of the Gibeonites, and they hanged them on the hill before the LORD: and they fell all seven together, and were put to death in the days of harvest, in the first days, in the beginning of barley harvest.

And Rizpah the daughter of Aiah took sackcloth, and spread it for her upon the rock, from the beginning of harvest until the rain poured on them from heaven, and allowed neither the birds of the air to rest on them by day, nor the beasts of the field by night.
11 Şaulun cariyəsi Ayya qızı Rispanın etdiyi bu işi Davuda xəbər verdilər.
And it was told David what Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, the concubine of Saul, had done.
12 Davud gedib Şaulun sümüklərini və oğlu Yonatanın sümüklərini Yaveş-Gilead əhalisindən aldı. Filiştlilər Gilboada Şaulu öldürdükləri gün onların cəsədlərini Bet-Şean meydanında asmışdılar, Yaveş-Gilead əhalisi də gəlib cəsədləri oradan oğurlamışdı.
And David went and took the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son from the men of Jabeshgilead, who had stolen them from the street of Bethshan, where the Philistines had hanged them, when the Philistines had slain Saul in Gilboa:
13 Davud Şaulun və oğlu Yonatanın sümüklərini həmin yerdən çıxartdırdı və asılanların da sümüklərini topladılar.
And he brought up from there the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son; and they gathered the bones of them that were hanged.
14 Onlar Şaulun və oğlu Yonatanın sümüklərini Binyamin torpağında – Selada, Şaulun atası Qişin məqbərəsində basdırdılar, padşahın onlara əmr etdiyi hər şeyə əməl etdilər. Bundan sonra Allah ölkə üçün duaları qəbul etdi.
And the bones of Saul and Jonathan his son they buried in the country of Benjamin in Zelah, in the sepulchre of Kish his father: and they performed all that the king commanded. And after that God was entreated for the land.
15 Yenə Filiştlilərin İsraillilərlə döyüşü oldu. Davud adamları ilə birgə döyüşə getdi və onlar Filiştlilərlə döyüşərkən Davud yoruldu.
Moreover the Philistines had yet war again with Israel; and David went down, and his servants with him, and fought against the Philistines: and David became faint.
16 Rafa övladlarından İşbi-Benov Davudu öldürmək istədi. Onun nizəsinin başı üç yüz şekel ağırlığında tuncdan idi və belinə təzə qılınc bağlamışdı.
And Ishbibenob, who was of the sons of the giant, the weight of whose spear was three hundred shekels of brass in weight, he being girded with a new sword, thought of slaying David.
17 Seruya oğlu Avişay Davudun köməyinə çatıb həmin Filiştlini vurub öldürdü. O zaman Davudun adamları ona and verib dedilər: «Bir daha sən bizimlə bərabər döyüşə çıxma ki, İsrailin çırağını söndürməyəsən».
But Abishai the son of Zeruiah helped him, and smote the Philistine, and killed him. Then the men of David swore to him, saying, Thou shalt go out no more with us to battle, that thou mayest not put out the light of Israel.
18 Bundan sonra yenə Filiştlilərlə Qovda döyüş oldu. O zaman Xuşalı Sibbekay Rafa övladlarından Safı öldürdü.
And it came to pass after this, that there was again a battle with the Philistines at Gob: then Sibbechai the Hushathite slew Saph, who was of the sons of the giant.
19 Yenə Filiştlilərlə Qovda döyüş oldu və Bet-Lexemli Yaare-Orgimin oğlu Elxanan Qatlı Qolyatı öldürdü. Qolyatın nizəsinin sapı toxucu dəzgahının əriş ağacı boyda idi.
And there was again a battle in Gob with the Philistines, where Elhanan the son of Jaareoregim, a Bethlehemite, slew the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver’s beam.
20 Qatda bir də döyüş oldu. Orada Rafa övladlarından digər ucaboy bir adam var idi. Bu adamın əlləri və ayaqları altı barmaqlı idi və cəmi iyirmi dörd barmağı var idi.
And there was yet a battle in Gath, where was a man of great stature, that had on every hand six fingers, and on every foot six toes, four and twenty in number; and he also was born to the giant.
21 O, İsrailə meydan oxudu. Onu Davudun qardaşı Şimanın oğlu Yonatan öldürdü.
And when he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimea the brother of David slew him.
22 Bu dörd kişi Rafa övladlarından olub Qatda doğulmuşdu. Onlar Davudun və onun adamlarının əli ilə qırıldı.
These four were born to the giant in Gath, and fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.
