প্রবচন 6

1 ১ হে মোৰ পুত্র, তুমি যদি তোমাৰ চুবুৰীয়াৰ জামিন হ’বলৈ তোমাৰ ধন এফলিয়া কৈ ৰাখা, তুমি যদি কোনো অচিনাকী লোকক ধাৰ দিবলৈ প্রতিজ্ঞা কৰা,

My son, if you have become collateral for your neighbor, if you have struck your hand in pledge for a stranger;

2 ২ তেনেহ’লে তুমি নিজে কৰা প্রতিজ্ঞাৰ দ্বাৰাই ফান্দত পৰিবা, আৰু তুমি নিজৰ মুখৰ কথাৰ দ্বাৰাই ধৰা পৰিবা।

You are trapped by the words of your mouth. You are ensnared with the words of your mouth.

3 ৩ হে মোৰ পুত্র, সেই বিষয়ত তুমি এইদৰে কৰা আৰু নিজকে ৰক্ষা কৰা; কাৰণ তুমি তোমাৰ চুবুৰীয়াৰ অনুগ্রহত আছা। যোৱা আৰু নিজকে নম্র কৰি তোমাক মুক্ত কৰিবলৈ তোমাৰ চুবুৰীয়াক মিনতি কৰা।

Do this now, my son, and deliver yourself, seeing you have come into the hand of your neighbor. Go, humble yourself. Press your plea with your neighbor.

4 ৪ তোমাৰ চকুক টোপনি যাবলৈ নিদিবা, আৰু চকুৰ পতাক মুদ যাবলৈ নিদিবা।

Give no sleep to your eyes, nor slumber to your eyelids.

5 ৫ হৰিণে চিকাৰীৰ হাতৰ পৰা ৰক্ষা পোৱাৰ দৰে, আৰু চৰাইয়ে চিকাৰীৰ হাতৰ পৰা ৰক্ষা পোৱাৰ দৰে তুমি নিজকে ৰক্ষা কৰা।

Free yourself, like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter, like a bird from the snare of the fowler.

6 ৬ হে এলেহুৱা লোক, পৰুৱালৈ দৃষ্টি কৰা, সিহঁতৰ কাৰ্যলৈ চাই জ্ঞানী হোৱা।

Go to the ant, you sluggard. Consider her ways, and be wise;

7 ৭ সিহঁতৰ কোনো অধিপতি, কাৰ্যধ্যক্ষ, বা শাসনকৰ্ত্তা নাই,

which having no chief, overseer, or ruler,

8 ৮ তথাপি সিহঁতে জহকালৰ আহাৰ গোটায়, আৰু শস্য দোৱাৰ সময়ত আহাৰ চপায়।

provides her bread in the summer, and gathers her food in the harvest.

9 ৯ হে এলেহুৱা, তুমি কিমান কাল শুই থাকিবা? আৰু কেতিয়া টোপনিৰ পৰা উঠিবা?

How long will you sleep, sluggard? When will you arise out of your sleep?

10 ১০ “আৰু অলপ শুই থাকো, আৰু অলপ টোপনিয়াও, আৰু অলপ জিৰণী লবলৈ হাত সাৱটো”-

A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:

11 ১১ তেতিয়া তোমাৰ দৰিদ্ৰতা ডকাইতৰ দৰে, আৰু তোমাৰ প্রয়োজনীতা সুসজ্জিত ৰণুৱাৰ দৰে আহিব।

so your poverty will come as a robber, and your scarcity as an armed man.

12 ১২ এজন অপদাৰ্থ ব্যক্তি, এজন পাপী লোক- কটু কথাৰ দ্বাৰাই জীয়াই থাকে।

A worthless person, a man of iniquity, is he who walks with a perverse mouth;

13 ১৩ তেওঁ চকু টিপিয়াই আৰু ভৰিৰে সঙ্কেত দিয়ে, আৰু আঙুলিৰে ইঙ্গিত কৰে।

who winks with his eyes, who signals with his feet, who motions with his fingers;

14 ১৪ তেওঁ হৃদয়ৰ প্রতাৰণাৰ সৈতে বেয়া চক্রান্ত কৰে, তেওঁ সদায় বিবাদক আলোড়িত কৰে,

in whose heart is perverseness, who devises evil continually, who always sows discord.

15 ১৫ সেই কাৰণে তেওঁলৈ অকস্মাতে দুৰ্যোগ আহে; তৎক্ষণাত সুস্থ হ’ব নোৱাৰাকৈ তেওঁ ভাঙি পৰে।

Therefore his calamity will come suddenly. He will be broken suddenly, and that without remedy.

16 ১৬ যিহোৱাই ঘিণ কৰা বিষয় ছয়টা, সপ্তমটো তেওঁলৈ বিতৃষ্ণাজনক।

There are six things which the LORD hates; yes, seven which are an abomination to him:

17 ১৭ গৰ্ব্ব কৰা চকু, মিছা কথা কোৱা জিভা, নিৰ্দ্দোষীৰ তেজত পতিত হোৱা হাত,

haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood;

18 ১৮ বেয়া পৰিকল্পনা কৰা হৃদয়, বেয়া কৰ্ম কৰিবলৈ বেগাই দৌৰ মৰা ভৰি,

a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are swift in running to mischief,

19 ১৯ মিছা কথা ব্যক্ত কৰা সাক্ষী, আৰু ভাইসকলৰ মাজত কন্দলৰূপ গুটি সিচোঁতা লোক।

a false witness who utters lies, and he who sows discord among brothers.

20 ২০ হে মোৰ পুত্র, তুমি তোমাৰ পিতৃৰ আজ্ঞা পালন কৰা, আৰু তোমাৰ মাতৃৰ শিক্ষা হেয়জ্ঞান নকৰিবা।

My son, keep your father's commandment, and do not forsake your mother's teaching.

21 ২১ সেইবোৰ সদায় তোমাৰ হৃদয়ত গাঁঠি থোৱা, আৰু সেইবোৰ ডিঙিত বান্ধি ৰাখা।

Bind them continually on your heart. Tie them around your neck.

22 ২২ তুমি যেতিয়া খোজ কাঢ়িবা, তেতিয়া সেইবোৰে তোমাক পৰিচালনা কৰিব, তুমি যেতিয়া শুবা, তেতিয়া সেইবোৰে তোমাক পৰ দি ৰাখিব, আৰু যেতিয়া তুমি শুই উঠিবা, তেতিয়া সেইবোৰে তোমাক শিক্ষা প্রদান কৰিব।

When you walk, it will lead you. When you sleep, it will watch over you. When you awake, it will talk with you.

23 ২৩ কাৰণ সেই আজ্ঞাবোৰ প্ৰদীপস্বৰূপ, আৰু সেই শিক্ষা পোহৰস্বৰূপ হয়, নেতিবাচক অনুশাসন জীৱনৰ পথ হয়।

For the commandment is a lamp, and the Law is light. Reproofs of instruction are the way of life,

24 ২৪ অসৎ মহিলাৰ পৰা, আৰু ব্যভিচাৰিণীৰ মিঠা কথাৰ পৰা ই তোমাক দূৰ কৰি ৰাখে,

to keep you from the immoral woman, from the flattery of the foreign woman.

25 ২৫ তুমি তোমাৰ অন্তৰেৰে তেওঁৰ সৌন্দৰ্যত মোহ নাযাবা, আৰু তেওঁক তেওঁৰ চকুৰে তোমাক মোহিত কৰিব নিদিবা।

Do not lust after her beauty in your heart, neither let her captivate you with her eyelids.

26 ২৬ বেশ্যা মহিলাৰ সৈতে শয়ন কৰা, এটা পিঠাৰ মূল্যৰ সমান হ’ব পাৰে, কিন্তু অন্য লোকৰ ভাৰ্যাই তোমাৰ সমগ্র জীৱন ক্ষতি কৰিব পাৰে।

For a prostitute reduces you to a piece of bread. The adulteress hunts for your precious life.

27 ২৭ কাপোৰ নোপোৰাকৈ কোনোবাই নিজৰ বুকুত, জুই ৰাখিব পাৰে নে?

Can a man scoop fire into his lap, and his clothes not be burned?

28 ২৮ কোনোবাই জানো নিজৰ ভৰি নোপোৰাকৈ, জ্বলি থকা আঙঠাৰ ওপৰত খোজকাঁঢ়িব পাৰে নে?

Or can one walk on hot coals, and his feet not be scorched?

29 ২৯ সেয়ে যি মানুহে নিজৰ চুবুৰীয়াৰ ভাৰ্যাৰ ওচৰলৈ যায়, সেই জনে তেওঁৰে সৈতে সম্পৰ্ক কৰিলে, তেওঁ দণ্ড নোপোৱাকৈ নাথাকে।

So is he who goes in to his neighbor's wife. Whoever touches her will not be unpunished.

30 ৩০ চোৰে ক্ষুধাতুৰ হৈ পেট ভৰাবলৈ চুৰ কৰিলে, লোকসকলে তেওঁক ঘিণ নকৰিব পাৰে;

Men do not despise a thief, if he steals to satisfy himself when he is hungry:

31 ৩১ কিন্তু ধৰা পৰিলে, তেওঁ তাৰ সাত গুণ ক্ষতি পুৰণ কৰিব লাগিব, আৰু নিজৰ ঘৰৰ সৰ্ব্বস্বৰ মূল্য দিব লগা হ’ব।

but if he is found, he must repay seven times. He shall give all the wealth of his house.

32 ৩২ যিজনে পৰস্ত্ৰীৰ সৈতে সহবাস কৰে তেওঁ জ্ঞানশূন্য; যি মানুহে এনে কাৰ্য কৰে, তেওঁ নিজকে ধ্বংস কৰে।

He who commits adultery with a woman is void of understanding. He who does it destroys his own soul.

33 ৩৩ তেওঁ আঘাত আৰু অপমান পোৱাৰ যোগ্য; আৰু তেওঁৰ অপমান কেতিয়াও মচি দিয়া নহ’ব।

He will get wounds and dishonor. His reproach will not be wiped away.

34 ৩৪ কাৰণ ঈৰ্ষাই মানুহক ক্রোধাম্বিত কৰে; তেওঁ যেতিয়া প্ৰতিশোধ লয়, তেতিয়া তেওঁ দয়া নেদেখোৱায়।

For jealousy arouses the fury of the husband. He won't spare in the day of vengeance.

35 ৩৫ তেওঁ কোনো প্ৰকাৰৰ ক্ষতিপূৰণ গ্ৰহণ নকৰিব; আৰু তুমি তেওঁক বহুত উপহাৰ দিলেও তেওঁক কিনিব নোৱাৰিবা।

He won't regard any ransom, neither will he rest content, though you give many gifts.
