1 ১ তেতিয়া ইয়োবে পুনৰ উত্তৰ দিলে আৰু ক’লে,

Then Iob answered, and sayd,

2 ২ “মই নিশ্চয়ে জানো, সেই কথা স্বৰূপ; কিন্তু এজন ব্যক্তি কেনেকৈ ঈশ্বৰৰ সৈতে ধাৰ্মিক হ’ব পাৰে?

I knowe verily that it is so: for howe should man compared vnto God, be iustified?

3 ৩ যদি তেওঁ ঈশ্বৰৰ সৈতে বাদানুবাদ কৰিব খোজে, তেন্তে তেওঁক হাজাৰ কথাৰ মাজৰ এটিৰো উত্তৰ দিব নোৱাৰিব।

If I would dispute with him, hee could not answere him one thing of a thousand.

4 ৪ ঈশ্বৰৰ অন্তৰত জ্ঞান আছে, আৰু শক্তিত তেওঁ পৰাক্ৰমী; তেওঁৰ বিৰুদ্ধে ডিঙি ঠৰ কৰি কোনে কেতিয়া উন্নতি লাভ কৰিলে?

He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who hath bene fierce against him and hath prospered?

5 ৫ তেওঁ পৰ্ব্বতবোৰ স্থানান্তৰ কৰে; আৰু তেওঁ সেইবোৰক নিজ ক্ৰোধত লুটিয়াই পেলাওঁতে সেইবোৰে একো গম নাপায়।

He remoueth the mountaines, and they feele not when he ouerthroweth them in his wrath.

6 ৬ তেওঁ পৃথিবীক জোকাৰি নিজ ঠাইৰ পৰা লৰায়; তাৰ স্তম্ভবোৰ থৰথৰকৈ কঁপে।

Hee remooueth the earth out of her place, that the pillars thereof doe shake.

7 ৭ এইজনা সেই একে ঈশ্বৰ, যি জনাই ক’লে সূৰ্য উদয় নহয়; আৰু তেওঁ তৰাবোৰ বন্ধ কৰি মোহৰ মাৰে।

He commandeth the sunne, and it riseth not: hee closeth vp the starres, as vnder a signet.

8 ৮ তেওঁ অকলেই আকাশ-মণ্ডলক বিস্তাৰিত কৰে, আৰু ঢৌবোৰৰ ওপৰেদি অহা-যোৱা কৰে।

Hee himselfe alone spreadeth out the heauens, and walketh vpon the height of the sea.

9 ৯ তেওঁ সপ্তৰ্ষি, মৃগশীৰ্ষ, কৃত্তিকা, আৰু দক্ষিণদিশে থকা নক্ষত্ৰ-ৰাশিৰ সৃষ্টিকৰ্ত্তা।

He maketh the starres Arcturus, Orion, and Pleiades, and the climates of the South.

10 ১০ অনুসদ্ধান পাব নোৱাৰা মহৎ কৰ্ম তেওঁ কৰে; অসংখ্য অদ্ভুত কাৰ্যও তেৱেঁই কৰে।

He doeth great things, and vnsearcheable: yea, marueilous things without nomber.

11 ১১ চোৱা, তেওঁ মোৰ ওচৰেদি যায়, কিন্তু মই নেদেখোঁ; তেওঁ মোৰ সম্মুখেদি গমন কৰে, তথাপি মই তেওঁক অনুভৱ নকৰোঁ।

Lo, when he goeth by me, I see him not: and when he passeth by, I perceiue him not.

12 ১২ চোৱা, তেওঁ ধৰি নিলে তেওঁক কোনে নিবাৰণ কৰিব পাৰে? তুমি কি কৰিছা বুলি তেওঁক কোনে কব পাৰে?

Behold, when he taketh a pray, who can make him to restore it? who shall say vnto him, What doest thou?

13 ১৩ ঈশ্বৰে নিজৰ ক্ৰোধ উঠাই নলয়; এনে কি ৰাহবক সহায় কৰোঁতাবোৰো তেওঁৰ সন্মুখত নত হয়।

God will not withdrawe his anger, and the most mightie helpes doe stoupe vnder him.

14 ১৪ মই কেনেকৈ তেওঁক উত্তৰ দিম? তেওঁক কাৰণ দেখুৱাবলৈ মই নো কেনেকৈ কথা বাচি লম?

Howe much lesse shall I answere him? or howe should I finde out my words with him?

15 ১৫ মই যদি ধাৰ্মিকো হওঁ, তথাপি তেওঁক মই উত্তৰ দিব নোৱাৰোঁ; মোৰ অভিযোক্তাৰ দয়াৰ বাবে মই মাথোন নিবেদনহে কৰিব পাৰোঁ।

For though I were iust, yet could I not answere, but I would make supplication to my Iudge.

16 ১৬ যদিও মই মাতো আৰু তেওঁ মোক উত্তৰ দিয়ে; তথাপি তেওঁ যে মোৰ মিনতিলৈ কাণ পাতিব, মোৰ এনে বিশ্বাস নজন্মে।

If I cry, and he answere me, yet woulde I not beleeue, that he heard my voyce.

17 ১৭ তেওঁ মোক প্ৰবল ধুমুহাৰে ভাঙিব, আৰু অকাৰণে মোক বাৰে বাৰে ক্ষতবিক্ষতহে কৰিব।

For he destroyeth mee with a tempest, and woundeth me without cause.

18 ১৮ তেওঁ মোক উশাহকে ল’ব নিদিব, কিন্তু মোক তিতাৰেহে পৰিপূৰ্ণ কৰিব।

He wil not suffer me to take my breath, but filleth me with bitternesse.

19 ১৯ পৰাক্ৰমীৰ বলৰ কথাত হলে, তেওঁ কয়, চোৱা, মই আছোঁ, আৰু যদি বিচাৰৰ কথাত কয়, কোনে মোৰ নিমিত্তে দিন নিৰূপণ কৰিব?

If we speake of strength, behold, he is strog: if we speake of iudgement, who shall bring me in to pleade?

20 ২০ মই ধাৰ্মিক হলেও মোৰ মুখে মোক দোষী কৰিব; মই সিদ্ধ হলেও তেওঁ মোক অপৰাধী পাতিব।

If I woulde iustifie my selfe, mine owne mouth shall condemne mee: if I would be perfite, he shall iudge me wicked.

21 ২১ মই সিদ্ধ, মই নিজ প্ৰাণক নামনি ইয়াকে কওঁ; জীৱনত মোৰ ঘিণ লাগিছে।

Though I were perfite, yet I knowe not my soule: therefore abhorre I my life.

22 ২২ সকলো বিষয়তে একে, সেই দেখি মই কওঁ, তেওঁ সিদ্ধ আৰু দুৰ্জন এই দুয়োকো সংহাৰ কৰে।

This is one point: therefore I said, Hee destroyeth the perfite and the wicked.

23 ২৩ আপদৰূপ চাবুকে যদি মানুহক অকস্মাতে মাৰি পেলায়, তেন্তে তেওঁ নিৰ্দ্দোষীবিলাকৰ নিৰাশা দেখি হাঁহিব।

If the scourge should suddenly slay, should God laugh at the punishment of the innocent?

24 ২৪ পৃথিৱী দুৰ্জনৰ হাতত শোধাই দিয়া হয়; তেওঁ তাৰ বিচাৰকৰ্ত্তাবিলাকৰ মুখ ঢাকে; যদি তেওঁ নহয়, তেন্তে তাকনো কোনে কৰে?

The earth is giuen into the hand of ye wicked: he couereth the faces of the iudges therof: if not, where is he? or who is he?

25 ২৫ মোৰ দিন কেইটা ডাকৱালাতকৈয়ো বেগী; একো মঙ্গল নেদেখাকৈ সেইবোৰ বেগাই যায়।

My dayes haue bene more swift then a post: they haue fled, and haue seene no good thing.

26 ২৬ সেইবোৰ বেগী নাৱৰ দৰে চলি যায়, বা আহাৰৰ ওপৰত চোঁ মৰা ঈগল পক্ষী নিচিনাকৈ উৰি যায়।

They are passed as with the most swift ships, and as the eagle that flyeth to the pray.

27 ২৭ যদিও মই কওঁ যে, মোৰ দুখৰ কথা পাহৰি যাম, আৰু ম্লানমুখ দূৰ কৰি প্ৰসন্ন হম,

If I say, I wil forget my complaynt, I will cease from my wrath, and comfort mee,

28 ২৮ তথাপি তুমি মোক নিৰ্দ্দোষী জ্ঞান নকৰিবা বুলি জানি, মোৰ সকলো যাতনাত মই জিকাৰ খাই উঠো।

Then I am afrayd of all my sorowes, knowing that thou wilt not iudge me innocent.

29 ২৯ মই দোষী হবই লাগিব; তেতিয়া হ’লে কিয় মই অনৰ্থক পৰিশ্ৰম কৰোঁ?

If I be wicked, why labour I thus in vaine?

30 ৩০ যদি মই হিমৰ পানীত গা ধোওঁ, আৰু খাৰেৰে হাত চাফা কৰোঁ,

If I wash my selfe with snowe water, and purge mine hands most cleane,

31 ৩১ তথাপি তুমি মোক খালত জুবুৰিয়াবা, আৰু মোৰ নিজৰ বস্ত্ৰয়ো মোক ঘিণ কৰিব।

Yet shalt thou plunge mee in the pit, and mine owne clothes shall make me filthie.

32 ৩২ কিয়নো তেওঁ মোৰ নিচিনা মানুহ নহয় যে, মই তেওঁক উত্তৰ দিম, বা দুয়ো একে-লগে বিচাৰস্থানলৈ যাম।

For he is not a man as I am, that I shoulde answere him, if we come together to iudgement.

33 ৩৩ আমাৰ দুয়োৰো ওপৰত হাত দিব পৰা এনেকুৱা মধ্যস্থ কোনো নাই।

Neyther is there any vmpire that might lay his hand vpon vs both.

34 ৩৪ তেওঁ মোৰ ওপৰৰ পৰা বিচাৰৰ দণ্ডডাল আঁতৰাওক, আৰু তেওঁৰ ভয়ানকতাই মোক ভয় নলগাওক;

Let him take his rod away from me, and let not his feare astonish me:

35 ৩৫ তেতিয়া মই কথা কম, তেওঁক ভয় নকৰিম; কিয়নো মই নিজে তেনেকুৱা নহওঁ।

Then will I speake, and feare him not: but because I am not so, I holde me still.
