ՅՈՎՀԱՆՆՈԻ 19
1 Այն ատեն Պիղատոս առաւ Յիսուսը եւ խարազանեց:
Then Pilate took Jesus and had him flogged.
2 Զինուորներն ալ հիւսեցին փուշէ պսակ մը ու դրին անոր գլուխը, եւ հագցուցին անոր ծիրանի հանդերձ մը
Soldiers made a crown of thorns and placed it on his head, and put a purple robe on him.
3 ու կ՚ըսէին. «Ողջո՜յն, Հրեաներո՛ւ թագաւոր», եւ ապտակներ կը զարնէին անոր:
Time and again they went up to him and said, “Hail, King of the Jews!” and slapped him.
4 Պիղատոս դարձեալ դուրս ելաւ ու ըսաւ անոնց. «Ահա՛ դուրս կը բերեմ զայն ձեզի, որպէսզի գիտնաք թէ ես ո՛չ մէկ յանցանք կը գտնեմ անոր վրայ»:
Pilate went outside once more and said to them, “I'm bringing him out here to you so you'll know I find him not guilty of any crime.”
5 Ուստի Յիսուս դուրս ելաւ՝ կրելով փուշէ պսակն ու ծիրանի հանդերձը, եւ Պիղատոս ըսաւ անոնց. «Ահա՛ այդ մարդը»:
Then Jesus came out wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. “Look, here's the man,” said Pilate.
6 Երբ քահանայապետներն ու սպասաւորները տեսան զայն, պոռացին. «Խաչէ՛, խաչէ՛ զայն»: Պիղատոս ըսաւ անոնց. «Դո՛ւք առէք զայն ու խաչեցէք, որովհետեւ ես ո՛չ մէկ յանցանք կը գտնեմ անոր վրայ»:
When the chief priests and the guards saw Jesus, they shouted out, “Crucify him! Crucify him!” “You take him and crucify him,” Pilate answered. “I find him not guilty.”
7 Հրեաները պատասխանեցին իրեն. «Մենք Օրէնք մը ունինք, եւ մեր Օրէնքին համաձայն՝ պարտաւոր է մեռնիլ, որովհետեւ Աստուծոյ Որդի ըրաւ ինքզինք»:
The Jewish leaders replied, “We have a law, and according to that law he must die because he claimed to be the Son of God.”
8 Իսկ երբ Պիղատոս լսեց այս խօսքը՝ ա՛լ աւելի վախցաւ,
When Pilate heard this he was more afraid than ever,
9 ու դարձեալ մտնելով պալատը՝ ըսաւ Յիսուսի. «Դուն ուրկէ՞ ես»: Բայց Յիսուս պատասխան չտուաւ անոր:
and he went back into the governor's palace. He asked Jesus, “Where do you come from?” But Jesus didn't respond.
10 Ուստի Պիղատոս ըսաւ անոր. «Չե՞ս խօսիր ինծի հետ. չե՞ս գիտեր թէ իշխանութիւն ունիմ խաչելու քեզ, եւ իշխանութիւն ունիմ արձակելու քեզ»:
“Are you refusing to talk to me?” Pilate said to him. “Don't you realize that I have the power to have you released or to crucify you?”
11 Յիսուս պատասխանեց. «Դուն ո՛չ մէկ իշխանութիւն կ՚ունենայիր իմ վրաս, եթէ վերէն տրուած չըլլար քեզի: Ուստի ա՛ն որ մատնեց զիս քեզի՝ աւելի՛ մեծ մեղք ունի»:
“You would have no power over me unless it had been given to you from above,” Jesus answered. “Therefore the one who handed me over to you is guilty of the greater sin.”
12 Ատկէ ետք Պիղատոս կը ջանար արձակել զայն. բայց Հրեաները կ՚աղաղակէին. «Եթէ արձակես ատիկա՝ կայսրին բարեկամը չես. ո՛վ որ թագաւոր կ՚ընէ ինքզինք՝ կը խօսի կայսրին դէմ»:
When Pilate heard this he tried to set Jesus free, but the Jewish leaders shouted, “If you set this man free you're not Caesar's friend. Anyone who sets himself up as a king is rebelling against Caesar.”
13 Ուրեմն Պիղատոս՝ երբ լսեց այս խօսքը՝ դուրս հանեց Յիսուսը, բազմեցաւ դատարանը, այն տեղը՝ որ Քարայատակ կը կոչուէր, իսկ եբրայերէն՝ Կապպաթա,
When Pilate heard this, he brought Jesus outside and sat down on the judgment seat at a place called Stone Pavement (Gabbatha in Hebrew).
14 (Զատիկի Ուրբաթն էր, գրեթէ վեցերորդ ժամը՝՝, ) եւ ըսաւ Հրեաներուն. «Ահա՛ ձեր թագաւորը»:
It was around noon on the preparation day before the Passover. “Look, here is your king,” he said to the Jews.
15 Բայց անոնք պոռացին. «Վերցո՛ւր, վերցո՛ւր, խաչէ՛ զայն»: Պիղատոս ըսաւ անոնց. «Ձեր թագաւո՞րը խաչեմ»: Քահանայապետները պատասխանեցին. «Մենք թագաւոր չունինք՝ կայսրէն զատ»:
“Kill him! Kill him! Crucify him!” they screamed out. “Do you want me to crucify your king?” Pilate asked. “The only king we have is Caesar,” the chief priests replied.
16 Այն ատեն յանձնեց զայն անոնց՝ որպէսզի խաչուէր:
So he handed Jesus over to them to be crucified.
17 Անոնք ալ առին Յիսուսը ու տարին. եւ ինք՝ վերցնելով իր խաչը՝ գնաց Գանկ կոչուած տեղը, որ եբրայերէն Գողգոթա կը կոչուի:
They led Jesus away, who carried his own cross, and went out to the “Place of the Skull,” (Golgotha in Hebrew).
18 Հոն խաչեցին զայն, ու երկու ուրիշներ ալ անոր հետ՝ մէկ կողմէն եւ միւս կողմէն, իսկ մէջտեղը՝ Յիսուսը:
They crucified him there, and two others with him: one on either side, with Jesus between them.
19 Պիղատոս գրեց տիտղոս մը ու դրաւ խաչին վրայ. գրուած էր. «Յիսուս Նազովրեցի՝ Հրեաներուն թագաւորը»:
Pilate had a notice made and placed on the cross which said, “Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews.”
20 Ուստի Հրեաներէն շատեր կարդացին այդ տիտղոսը, որովհետեւ այն տեղը՝ ուր Յիսուս խաչուեցաւ՝ մօտ էր քաղաքին. գրուած էր եբրայերէն, յունարէն ու լատիներէն:
Many people read the notice because the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city, and it was written in Hebrew, Latin, and Greek.
21 Իսկ Հրեաներուն քահանայապետները ըսին Պիղատոսի. «Մի՛ գրեր. “Հրեաներուն թագաւորը”, հապա գրէ՛ թէ ի՛նք ըսաւ. “Հրեաներուն թագաւորն եմ”»:
Then the chief priests came to Pilate and asked him, “Don't write ‘the King of the Jews,’ but ‘This man said I am the King of the Jews.’”
22 Պիղատոս պատասխանեց. «Ի՛նչ որ գրեցի՝ գրեցի՛»:
Pilate replied, “What I have written I have written.”
23 Երբ զինուորները խաչեցին Յիսուսը, առին անոր հանդերձները ու բաժնեցին չորսի, իւրաքանչիւր զինուորի՝ բաժին մը. նաեւ բաճկոնը: Բաճկոնը առանց կարի էր, ամբողջովին հիւսուած՝ վերէն վար:
When the soldiers had crucified Jesus they took his clothes and divided them in four so that each soldier had his share. There was also his robe, made without seams, woven in one piece.
24 Ուստի ըսին իրարու. «Չպատռե՛նք զայն, հապա վիճա՛կ ձգենք անոր վրայ՝ թէ որո՛ւ պիտի ըլլայ». որպէսզի իրագործուի այն գրուածը՝ որ կ՚ըսէ. «Իմ հանդերձներս բաժնեցին իրենց մէջ, եւ իմ պատմուճանիս վրայ վիճակ ձգեցին»: Ուրեմն զինուորնե՛րը ըրին այս բաները:
So they said to each other, “Let's not tear it, but let's decide who will have it by rolling dice.” This fulfilled the Scripture that says, “They divided my garments among them and rolled dice for my clothing.”
25 Յիսուսի խաչին քով կայնած էին իր մայրը եւ իր մօր քոյրը, Մարիամ՝ Կղէովպասի կինը, ու Մարիամ Մագդաղենացին:
So that is what the soldiers did. Standing near the cross was Jesus' mother and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas and Mary Magdalene.
26 Ուրեմն երբ Յիսուս տեսաւ իր մայրը, եւ այն աշակերտը որ կը սիրէր՝ քովը կայնած, ըսաւ իր մօր. «Կի՛ն, ահա՛ քու որդիդ»:
When Jesus saw his mother, and the disciple he loved standing beside her, he said to his mother, “Mother, this is your son.”
27 Յետոյ ըսաւ աշակերտին. «Ահա՛ քու մայրդ»: Եւ այդ ժամէն ետք՝ աշակերտը ընդունեց զայն իր քով:
Then he said to the disciple, “This is your mother.” From then on the disciple took her into his home.
28 Անկէ ետք՝ Յիսուս, գիտնալով թէ արդէն ամէն բան կատարուած է, (որպէսզի գրուածը ամբողջանայ, ) ըսաւ. «Ծարա՛ւ եմ»:
Jesus now realized that he had finished all that he had come to do. In fulfillment of Scripture, he said, “I'm thirsty.”
29 Հոն անօթ մը դրուած էր՝ լի քացախով. անոնք ալ լեցուցին սպունգ մը քացախով, անցուցին զոպայի մշտիկի մը եւ մատուցանեցին անոր բերանին:
A jar of wine vinegar was standing there, so they soaked a sponge in the vinegar, put it on a hyssop stick, and held it to his lips.
30 Ուստի երբ Յիսուս առաւ քացախը՝ ըսաւ. «Ամէն բան կատարուեցաւ». ու խոնարհեցնելով գլուխը՝ աւանդեց հոգին:
After he'd had the vinegar, Jesus said, “It's finished!” Then he bowed his head and breathed his last.
31 Քանի որ Ուրբաթ էր, Հրեաները թախանձեցին Պիղատոսի՝ որ անոնց սրունքները կոտրուին ու վերցուին, որպէսզի մարմինները չմնան խաչին վրայ մինչեւ Շաբաթ (որովհետեւ այդ Շաբաթը մեծ օր էր):
It was preparation day, and the Jewish leaders didn't want to leave the bodies on the crosses during the Sabbath day (in fact this was a special Sabbath), so they asked Pilate to break the legs, so that the bodies could be removed.
32 Ուստի զինուորները եկան եւ կոտրեցին առաջինին սրունքները. նաեւ միւսին՝ որ խաչուած էր անոր հետ:
So the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first one and then the other of those crucified with Jesus,
33 Բայց երբ եկան Յիսուսի, ու տեսան թէ արդէն մեռած էր, չկոտրեցին անոր սրունքները.
but when they came to Jesus they saw he was already dead, so they didn't break his legs.
34 հապա զինուորներէն մէկը՝ գեղարդով խոցեց անոր կողը, եւ իսկոյն արիւն ու ջուր դուրս ելան:
However, one of the soldiers stuck a spear into his side, and blood mixed with water came out.
35 Ան որ տեսաւ այս բաները՝ վկայեց, եւ անոր վկայութիւնը ճշմարիտ է, ու ինք գիտէ թէ կ՚ըսէ ճշմարտութիւնը, որ դո՛ւք (ալ) հաւատաք:
The one who saw this has given this evidence, and his evidence is true. He's certain that what he says is true so you can believe it too.
36 Արդարեւ այս բաները կատարուեցան, որպէսզի իրագործուի այն գրուածը. «Անոր ո՛չ մէկ ոսկորը պիտի կոտրուի»:
It happened like this so Scripture would be fulfilled: “Not one of his bones will be broken,”
37 Եւ դարձեալ ուրիշ գրուած մը կ՚ըսէ. «Պիտի նային անոր՝ որ խոցեցին»:
and as another Scripture says, “They will look at the one they pierced.”
38 Ասկէ ետք՝ Յովսէփ Արիմաթեացին, (որ Յիսուսի աշակերտ եղած էր, բայց գաղտնի՝ Հրեաներէն վախնալով, ) թախանձեց Պիղատոսի՝ որ վերցնէ Յիսուսի մարմինը: Պիղատոս ալ արտօնեց. ուրեմն եկաւ ու վերցուց Յիսուսի մարմինը:
After this Joseph of Arimathea asked Pilate if he could take down the body of Jesus, and Pilate gave his permission. Joseph was a disciple of Jesus, but in secret because he feared the Jews. So Joseph came and took the body away.
39 Նիկոդեմոս ալ եկաւ (որ նախապէս՝ գիշերուան մէջ գացեր էր Յիսուսի), եւ բերաւ զմուռսի ու հալուէի խառնուրդ մը՝ հարիւր լիտրի չափ:
He was joined by Nicodemus, the man who had first visited Jesus at night. He brought with him a mixture of myrrh and aloes weighing about seventy-five pounds.
40 Ուրեմն առին Յիսուսի մարմինը, եւ փաթթեցին զայն բոյրերուն հետ՝ լաթերու մէջ, ինչպէս Հրեաները սովորութիւն ունին թաղելու:
They took Jesus' body and wrapped it in linen cloth together with the mixture of spices, in accordance with Jewish burial customs. There was a garden near where Jesus was crucified;
41 Այն տեղը ուր խաչուեցաւ՝ պարտէզ մը կար, եւ պարտէզին մէջ՝ նոր գերեզման մը, որուն մէջ ամե՛նեւին մարդ դրուած չէր:
and in the garden was a new, unused tomb.
42 Ուստի հոն դրին Յիսուսը՝ Հրեաներու Ուրբաթին պատճառով, որովհետեւ գերեզմանը մօտ էր:
Since it was the Jewish day of preparation and the tomb was nearby, they laid Jesus to rest there.
