ԵՓԵՍԱՑԻՍ 5
1 Ուրեմն նմանեցէ՛ք Աստուծոյ՝ սիրելի զաւակներու պէս,
Therefore imitate God, as his dear children,
2 եւ ընթացէ՛ք սիրոյ մէջ, ինչպէս Քրիստոս ալ մեզ սիրեց ու մեզի համար ընծայեց ինքզինք Աստուծոյ՝ որպէս պատարագ ու զոհ, անուշաբոյր հոտ ըլլալով:
and live a life of love, following the example of the Christ, who loved you and gave himself for you as an offering and a sacrifice to God, that should be fragrant and acceptable.
3 Բայց պոռնկութեան եւ ամէն տեսակ անմաքրութեան կամ ագահութեան անունն իսկ թող չյիշուի ձեր մէջ, (ինչպէս կը պատշաճի սուրբերուն, )
As for sexual immorality and every kind of impurity, or greed, do not let them even be mentioned among you, as befits Christ’s people,
4 ո՛չ ալ լրբութեան, յիմար խօսակցութեան կամ խեղկատակութեան, որոնք չեն պատշաճիր. այլ փոխարէնը շնորհակալութի՛ւն յայտնեցէք:
nor shameful conduct, nor foolish talk or jesting, for they are wholly out of place among you; but rather thanksgiving.
5 Քանի որ գիտէք՝՝ թէ ո՛չ մէկ պոռնկող, կամ անմաքուր, կամ ագահ, որ կռապաշտ է, ունի որեւէ ժառանգութիւն Քրիստոսի եւ Աստուծոյ թագաւորութեան մէջ:
For of this you may be sure – that no one who is unchaste or impure or greedy of gain (for to be greedy of gain is idolatry) has any place awaiting him in the kingdom of the Christ and God.
6 Ո՛չ մէկը թող խաբէ ձեզ ունայն խօսքերով, որովհետեւ այս բաներուն պատճառով Աստուծոյ բարկութիւնը կու գայ անհնազանդութեան որդիներուն վրայ:
Do not let anyone deceive you with specious arguments. Those are the sins that bring down the wrath of God on the disobedient.
7 Ուրեմն բաժնեկից մի՛ ըլլաք անոնց,
Therefore have nothing to do with such people.
8 որովհետեւ ժամանակին դուք խաւար էիք, բայց հիմա լոյս էք Տէրոջմով. ուստի ընթացէ՛ք լոյսի զաւակներու պէս,
For, although you were once in darkness, now, by your union with the Lord, you are in the light. Live as children of light –
9 քանի որ Հոգիին պտուղը ամէն տեսակ բարութեամբ, արդարութեամբ ու ճշմարտութեամբ է:
for the outcome of life in the light may be seen in every form of goodness, righteousness, and sincerity –
10 Քննեցէ՛ք թէ ի՛նչ է Տէրոջ հաճելին,
always trying to find out what is pleasing to the Lord.
11 եւ ընկերակից մի՛ ըլլաք խաւարին անպտուղ գործերուն, այլ փոխարէնը կշտամբեցէ՛ք զանոնք:
Take no part in deeds of darkness, from which no good can come; on the contrary, expose them.
12 Որովհետեւ անոնց ըրած գաղտնի բաներուն մասին խօսիլն իսկ ամօթ է.
It is degrading even to speak of the things continually done by them in secret.
13 բայց ամէն բան որ կշտամբուած է՝ կը յայտնաբերուի լոյսին միջոցով, որովհետեւ լոյսն է որ կը յայտնաբերէ ամէն ինչ:
All such actions, when exposed, have their true character made manifest by the light.
14 Ուստի կ՚ըսէ. «Արթնցի՛ր, դուն որ կը քնանաս, ու կանգնէ՛ մեռելներէն, եւ Քրիստոս պիտի փայլի քու վրադ»:
For everything that has its true character made manifest is clear as light. And that is why it is said – ‘Sleeper, awake! Arise from the dead, and the Christ will give you light!’
15 Ուրեմն զգուշացէ՛ք որ ընթանաք շրջահայեցութեամբ. ո՛չ թէ անխոհեմներու պէս,
Take great care, then, how you live – not unwisely but wisely,
16 հապա՝ իմաստուններու պէս: Գնեցէ՛ք ժամանակը, որովհետեւ օրերը չար են:
making the most of every opportunity; for these are evil days.
17 Ուստի անմիտ մի՛ ըլլաք, հապա հասկցէ՛ք թէ ի՛նչ է Տէրոջ կամքը:
Therefore do not grow thoughtless, but try to understand what the Lord’s will is.
18 Մի՛ արբենաք գինիով՝ որուն մէջ անառակութիւն կայ, հապա Հոգիո՛վ լեցուեցէք:
Do not drink wine to excess, for that leads to profligacy; but seek to be filled with the Spirit of God, and speak to one another in psalms and hymns and sacred songs.
19 Սաղմոսներով, օրհներգերով եւ հոգեւոր երգերով դուք ձեր մէջ խօսակցելով՝ երգեցէ՛ք ու սաղմո՛ս ըսէք Տէրոջ ձեր սիրտերուն մէջ:
Sing and make music in your hearts to the Lord.
20 Ամէն ատեն՝ ամէն բանի համար շնորհակա՛լ եղէք Աստուծմէ եւ Հօրմէն, մեր Տէրոջ՝ Յիսուս Քրիստոսի անունով:
Always give thanks for everything to our God and Father, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
21 Իրարու հպատակեցէ՛ք Աստուծոյ վախով:
Submit to one another because you honor and respect Christ.
22 Կինե՛ր, հպատակեցէ՛ք ձեր ամուսիններուն՝ որպէս թէ Տէրոջ.
Wives should submit to their husbands as submitting to the Lord.
23 որովհետեւ ամուսինը կնոջ գլուխն է, ինչպէս Քրիստոս ալ եկեղեցիին գլուխն է, եւ ինքն է մարմինին Փրկիչը:
For a man is the head of his wife, as the Christ is the head of the church – being indeed himself the Savior of his body.
24 Հետեւաբար, ինչպէս եկեղեցին հպատակ է Քրիստոսի, նոյնպէս ալ կիները թող ըլլան իրենց ամուսիններուն՝ ամէն բանի մէջ:
But as the church submits to the Christ, so also should wives submit to their husbands in everything.
25 Ամուսիննե՛ր, սիրեցէ՛ք ձեր կիները, ինչպէս Քրիստոս ալ սիրեց եկեղեցին եւ ընծայեց ինքզինք անոր համար,
Husbands, love your wives, just as the Christ loved the church, and gave himself for her,
26 որպէսզի սրբացնէ զայն ու մաքրէ ջուրի լուացումով՝ խօսքին միջոցով.
to make her holy, after purifying her by the washing with the water, according to his promise;
27 որպէսզի ներկայացնէ զայն իրեն՝ իբր փառաւոր եկեղեցի մը, որ չունենայ բիծ, կամ կնճիռ, կամ նման որեւէ բան, հապա ըլլայ սուրբ եւ անարատ:
so that he might himself bring the church, in all her beauty, into his own presence, with no spot or wrinkle or blemish of any kind, but that she might be holy and faultless.
28 Նոյնպէս ալ ամուսինները պարտաւոր են սիրել իրենց կիները՝ իրենց մարմիններուն պէս. ա՛ն որ կը սիրէ իր կինը՝ կը սիրէ ինքզինք:
That is how husbands ought to love their wives – as if they were their own bodies. A man who loves his wife is really loving himself;
29 Արդարեւ ո՛չ մէկը երբեք ատած է իր մարմինը, հապա կը կերակրէ զայն ու կը փայփայէ, ինչպէս Տէրն ալ՝ եկեղեցին.
for no one ever yet hated his own body. But everyone feeds his body and cares for it, just as the Christ for the church;
30 քանի որ մենք անոր մարմինին անդամներն ենք, անոր միսէն եւ անոր ոսկորներէն:
for we are members of his body.
31 “Ատոր համար մարդը պիտի թողու հայրն ու մայրը, եւ պիտի յարի իր կնոջ, ու երկուքը պիտի ըլլան մէ՛կ մարմին”:
For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and be united to his wife; and the man and his wife will become one.
32 Ասիկա մեծ խորհուրդ մըն է. բայց ես կը խօսիմ Քրիստոսի եւ եկեղեցիին մասին:
In this there is a profound truth – I am speaking of Christ and his church.
33 Սակայն ձեզմէ իւրաքանչիւրը թող սիրէ իր կինը այնպէս՝ ինչպէս ինքզինք, ու կինը թող ակնածի իր ամուսինէն:
However, for you individually, let each love his wife as if she were himself; and the wife be careful to respect her husband.
