ԳՈՐԾՔ ԱՌԱՔԵԼՈՑ 13

1 Քանի մը մարգարէներ ու վարդապետներ կային Անտիոք եղող եկեղեցիին մէջ.- Բառնաբաս, Շմաւոն՝ որ Նիգեր կը կոչուէր, Ղուկիոս Կիւրենացին, Մանայէն՝ Հերովդէս չորրորդապետին սննդակիցը, եւ Սօղոս:

Now in the assembly that was at Antioch there were some prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen the foster brother of Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.

2 Մինչ անոնք Տէրոջ պաշտօն կը կատարէին ու ծոմ կը պահէին, Սուրբ Հոգին ըսաւ. «Զատեցէ՛ք ինծի Բառնաբասը եւ Սօղոսը՝ այն գործին համար, որուն ես կանչած եմ զանոնք»:

As they served the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, “Separate Barnabas and Saul for me, for the work to which I have called them.”

3 Ուստի՝ ծոմ պահելով ու աղօթելով՝ ձեռք դրին անոնց վրայ եւ ուղարկեցին:

Then, when they had fasted and prayed and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.

4 Անոնք ալ Սուրբ Հոգիէն ղրկուած՝ Սելեւկիա իջան, եւ անկէ նաւարկեցին դէպի Կիպրոս:

So, being sent out by the Holy Spirit, they went down to Seleucia. From there they sailed to Cyprus.

5 Հասնելով Սաղամինա՝ կը հռչակէին Աստուծոյ խօսքը Հրեաներու ժողովարաններուն մէջ. Յովհաննէս ալ կը սպասաւորէր իրենց:

When they were at Salamis, they proclaimed God’s word in the Jewish synagogues. They also had Yochanan as their attendant.

6 Շրջելով այդ (ամբողջ) կղզին մինչեւ Պափոս՝ գտան մոգ մը, Հրեայ սուտ մարգարէ մը, որուն անունը Բարեյեսու էր.

When they had gone through the island to Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew whose name was Bar-Yeshua,

7 ան փոխ-հիւպատոսին հետ էր, որ կը կոչուէր Սերգիոս Պօղոս, խելացի մարդ մը: Ասիկա՝ կանչելով Բառնաբասը եւ Սօղոսը՝ ուզեց լսել Աստուծոյ խօսքը:

who was with the proconsul, Sergius Paulus, a man of understanding. This man summoned Barnabas and Saul, and sought to hear the word of God.

8 Սակայն անոնց ընդդիմացաւ Եղիմաս մոգը (որովհետեւ ա՛յսպէս կը թարգմանուի անոր անունը), որ կը ջանար խոտորեցնել փոխ-հիւպատոսը հաւատքէն:

But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn the proconsul away from the faith.

9 Բայց Սօղոս, որ Պօղոս ալ կը կոչուի, Սուրբ Հոգիով լեցուած՝ ակնապիշ նայեցաւ անոր

But Saul, who is also called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, fastened his eyes on him

10 ու ըսաւ. «Ո՛վ ամէն նենգութեամբ եւ ամէն չարագործութեամբ լեցուն Չարախօսի՛ որդի, թշնամի ամբողջ արդարութեան, պիտի չդադրի՞ս խեղաթիւրելէ Տէրոջ ուղիղ ճամբաները:

and said, “You son of the devil, full of all deceit and all cunning, you enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?

11 Ահա՛ հիմա Տէրոջ ձեռքը քու վրադ է. կոյր պիտի ըլլաս եւ ատեն մը պիտի չտեսնես արեւը»: Անմի՛ջապէս մթութիւն ու խաւար իջաւ անոր վրայ, եւ շրջելով մէկը կը փնտռէր՝ որ ձեռքէն բռնելով տանէր զինք:

Now, behold, the hand of the Lord is on you, and you will be blind, not seeing the sun for a season!” Immediately a mist and darkness fell on him. He went around seeking someone to lead him by the hand.

12 Այն ատեն փոխ-հիւպատոսը հաւատաց՝ երբ տեսաւ կատարուածը, մեծապէս ապշելով Տէրոջ ուսուցումին վրայ:

Then the proconsul, when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the teaching of the Lord.

13 Պօղոս եւ իր ընկերակիցները նաւարկեցին Պափոսէն, ու գացին Պամփիւլիայի Պերգէն. բայց Յովհաննէս՝ զատուելով անոնցմէ՝ վերադարձաւ Երուսաղէմ:

Now Paul and his company set sail from Paphos and came to Perga in Pamphylia. Yochanan departed from them and returned to Jerusalem.

14 Անոնք ալ գացին Պերգէէն եւ հասան Պիսիդիայի Անտիոքը, ու Շաբաթ օրը մտնելով ժողովարանը՝ նստան:

But they, passing on from Perga, came to Antioch of Pisidia. They went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day and sat down.

15 Օրէնքին եւ Մարգարէներուն կարդացուելէն ետք՝ ժողովարանին պետերը մարդ ղրկեցին իրենց ու ըսին. «Մարդի՛կ եղբայրներ, եթէ դուք յորդորական խօսք մը ունիք ժողովուրդին՝ ըսէ՛ք»:

After the reading of the Torah and the Prophets, the rulers of the synagogue sent to them, saying, “Brothers, if you have any word of exhortation for the people, speak.”

16 Ուստի Պօղոս կանգնեցաւ, եւ շարժելով ձեռքը՝ ըսաւ. «Իսրայելացի՛ մարդիկ, ու դո՛ւք՝ որ կը վախնաք Աստուծմէ, մտի՛կ ըրէք:

Paul stood up, and gesturing with his hand said, “Men of Israel, and you who fear God, listen.

17 Այս ժողովուրդին՝ Իսրայէլի Աստուածը ընտրեց մեր հայրերը, բարձրացուց ժողովուրդը՝ երբ անոնք պանդխտացած էին Եգիպտոսի երկրին մէջ, եւ զօրաւոր բազուկով դուրս հանեց զանոնք:

The God of this people chose our fathers, and exalted the people when they stayed as aliens in the land of Egypt, and with an uplifted arm, he led them out of it.

18 Գրեթէ քառասուն տարի կերակրեց զանոնք անապատին մէջ:

For a period of about forty years he put up with them in the wilderness.

19 Քանանի երկրին մէջ, բնաջնջելով եօթը ազգ, անոնց երկիրը տուաւ իրենց՝ որ ժառանգեն:

When he had destroyed seven nations in the land of Canaan, he gave them their land for an inheritance for about four hundred and fifty years.

20 Անկէ ետք՝ գրեթէ չորս հարիւր յիսուն տարի՝ դատաւորներ տուաւ իրենց, մինչեւ Սամուէլ մարգարէն:

After these things, he gave them judges until Samuel the prophet.

21 Յետոյ թագաւոր ուզեցին, եւ Աստուած տուաւ իրենց Կիսի որդին՝ Սաւուղը, Բենիամինի տոհմէն մարդ մը, քառասուն տարի:

Afterward they asked for a king, and God gave to them Saul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years.

22 Երբ պաշտօնէ հեռացուց զայն, Դաւիթը նշանակեց իրենց վրայ իբր թագաւոր, որուն մասին վկայելով՝ ըսաւ. «Յեսսէի որդին՝ Դաւիթը գտայ, իմ սիրտիս համաձայն մարդ մը, որ պիտի գործադրէ իմ ամբողջ կամքս»:

When he had removed him, he raised up David to be their king, to whom he also testified, ‘I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after my heart, who will do all my will.’

23 Ասո՛ր զարմէն Աստուած՝ իր խոստումին համաձայն՝ հանեց Իսրայէլի Փրկիչ մը, Յիսուսը:

From this man’s offspring, God has brought salvation to Israel according to his promise,

24 Դեռ ան չեկած, Յովհաննէս նախապէս քարոզեց ապաշխարութեան մկրտութիւնը՝ Իսրայէլի ամբողջ ժողովուրդին:

before his coming, when Yochanan had first preached the immersion of repentance to Israel.

25 Երբ Յովհաննէս կը լրացնէր իր ընթացքը՝ ըսաւ. “Ո՞վ կը կարծէք՝ թէ եմ. ես Քրիստոսը չեմ, հապա ահա՛ իմ ետեւէս կու գայ մէկը՝ որուն ոտքերուն կօշիկները քակելու արժանի չեմ”:

As Yochanan was fulfilling his course, he said, ‘What do you suppose that I am? I am not he. But behold, one comes after me, the sandals of whose feet I am not worthy to untie.’

26 Մարդի՛կ եղբայրներ, Աբրահամի ցեղին որդինե՛ր, այս փրկութեան խօսքը ղրկուեցաւ ձեզի՛, եւ անոնց՝ որ ձեր մէջ աստուածավախ են:

“Brothers, children of the stock of Abraham, and those amongst you who fear God, the word of this salvation is sent out to you.

27 Քանի որ Երուսաղէմ բնակողները եւ անոնց պետերը՝ ո՛չ զայն ճանչցան, ո՛չ ալ մարգարէներուն ձայները՝ որոնք կը կարդացուին ամէն Շաբաթ օր. բայց իրագործեցին գրուածները՝ դատելով զայն:

For those who dwell in Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they didn’t know him, nor the voices of the prophets which are read every Sabbath, fulfilled them by condemning him.

28 Թէպէտ չգտան մահուան արժանի պատճառ մը, խնդրեցին Պիղատոսէն՝ որ ան սպաննուի:

Though they found no cause for death, they still asked Pilate to have him killed.

29 Երբ գործադրեցին ամէն ինչ որ գրուած էր անոր մասին, վար իջեցնելով փայտէն՝ դրին գերեզմանի մը մէջ:

When they had fulfilled all things that were written about him, they took him down from the tree and laid him in a tomb.

30 Բայց Աստուած մեռելներէն յարուցանեց զայն:

But God raised him from the dead,

31 Ան շատ օրեր երեւցաւ անոնց՝ որ Գալիլեայէն Երուսաղէմ ելեր էին իրեն հետ. անոնք են հիմա իր վկաները ժողովուրդին առջեւ:

and he was seen for many days by those who came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses to the people.

32 Մե՛նք ալ կ՚աւետենք ձեզի այն խոստումը՝ որ եղած էր հայրերուն.

We bring you good news of the promise made to the fathers,

33 Աստուած իրագործեց զայն մեզի համար՝ որ անոնց զաւակներն ենք, յարուցանելով Յիսուսը՝ ինչպէս գրուած ալ է երկրորդ Սաղմոսին մէջ. “Դուն իմ Որդիս ես, ա՛յսօր ծնայ քեզ”:

that God has fulfilled this to us, their children, in that he raised up Yeshua. As it is also written in the second psalm, ‘You are my Son. Today I have become your father.’

34 Ան սա՛ կ՚ըսէ զինք մեռելներէն յարուցանելու մասին՝ որ անգա՛մ մըն ալ ապականութեան չվերադառնայ. “Ձեզի պիտի տամ Դաւիթի մնայուն կարեկցութիւնները”:

“Concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he has spoken thus: ‘I will give you the holy and sure blessings of David.’

35 Այս մասին ուրիշ Սաղմոսի մը մէջ ալ կ՚ըսէ. “Պիտի չթոյլատրես որ քու Սուրբդ ապականութիւն տեսնէ”:

Therefore he says also in another psalm, ‘You will not allow your Holy One to see decay.’

36 Որովհետեւ Դաւիթ ննջեց՝ Աստուծոյ ծրագիրով սպասաւորելէ ետք իր սերունդին, դրուեցաւ իր հայրերուն քով եւ ապականութիւն տեսաւ:

For David, after he had in his own generation served the counsel of God, fell asleep, was laid with his fathers, and saw decay.

37 Բայց ա՛ն՝ որ Աստուած յարուցանեց, ապականութիւն չտեսաւ:

But he whom God raised up saw no decay.

38 Ուրեմն գիտցէ՛ք, մարդի՛կ եղբայրներ, թէ ասո՛ր միջոցով մեղքերու ներում կը հռչակուի ձեզի,

Be it known to you therefore, brothers, that through this man is proclaimed to you remission of sins;

39 եւ թէ իրմո՛վ ամէն հաւատացեալ կ՚արդարանայ այն բոլոր բաներէն՝ որոնցմէ չկրցաք արդարանալ Մովսէսի Օրէնքով:

and by him everyone who believes is justified from all things, from which you could not be justified by the Torah of Moses.

40 Ուրեմն զգուշացէ՛ք, որպէսզի ձեզի չպատահի՝՝ ի՛նչ որ ըսուած է Մարգարէներուն մէջ.

Beware therefore, lest that come on you which is spoken in the Prophets:

41 “Տեսէ՛ք, արհամարհողներ, եւ զարմացէ՛ք ու ոչնչացէ՛ք. որովհետեւ պիտի կատարեմ արարք մը՝ ձեր օրերուն մէջ, այնպիսի արարք մը, որ եթէ մէկը պատմէ ձեզի՝ պիտի չհաւատաք”»:

‘Behold, you scoffers! Wonder and perish, for I work a work in your days, a work which you will in no way believe, if one declares it to you.’”

42 Երբ անկէ դուրս ելան՝ կ՚աղաչէին, որ հետեւեալ Շաբաթ ալ քարոզեն իրենց նոյն խօսքերը:

So when the Jews went out of the synagogue, the Gentiles begged that these words might be preached to them the next Sabbath.

43 Երբ ժողովուրդը արձակուեցաւ, Հրեաներէն եւ բարեպաշտ նորահաւատներէն շատեր հետեւեցան Պօղոսի ու Բառնաբասի, որոնք կը խօսէին անոնց հետ եւ կը յորդորէին զանոնք, որ յարատեւեն Աստուծոյ շնորհքին մէջ:

Now when the synagogue broke up, many of the Jews and of the devout proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas; who, speaking to them, urged them to continue in the grace of God.

44 Հետեւեալ Շաբաթ օրը, գրեթէ ամբողջ քաղաքը հաւաքուեցաւ՝ լսելու Աստուծոյ խօսքը:

The next Sabbath, almost the whole city was gathered together to hear the word of God.

45 Իսկ Հրեաները՝ երբ տեսան բազմութիւնները՝ լեցուեցան նախանձով, ու դէմ կը խօսէին Պօղոսի ըսածներուն՝ հակաճառելով եւ հայհոյելով:

But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with jealousy, and contradicted the things which were spoken by Paul, and blasphemed.

46 Ուստի Պօղոս ու Բառնաբաս համարձակելով ըսին. «Հարկ էր որ Աստուծոյ խօսքը քարոզուէր նախ ձեզի՛. բայց քանի որ կը վանէք զայն ձեզմէ, եւ դուք ձեզ արժանի չէք սեպեր յաւիտենական կեանքի, ահա՛ մենք կը դառնանք հեթանոսներուն: (aiōnios g166)

Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly, and said, “It was necessary that God’s word should be spoken to you first. Since indeed you thrust it from yourselves, and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles. (aiōnios g166)

47 Որովհետեւ Տէրը սա՛ պատուիրած է մեզի. “Քեզ իբր լոյս դրի հեթանոսներուն, որպէսզի դուն փրկութեան պատճառ ըլլաս՝ մինչեւ երկրի ծայրերը”»:

For so has the Lord commanded us, saying, ‘I have set you as a light for the Gentiles, that you should bring salvation to the uttermost parts of the earth.’”

48 Լսելով ասիկա՝ հեթանոսները կ՚ուրախանային ու կը փառաւորէին Աստուծոյ խօսքը, եւ անոնք որ սահմանուած էին յաւիտենական կեանքին՝ հաւատացին: (aiōnios g166)

As the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and glorified the word of God. As many as were appointed to eternal life believed. (aiōnios g166)

49 Տէրոջ խօսքը կը տարածուէր ամբողջ երկրամասին մէջ:

The Lord’s word was spread abroad throughout all the region.

50 Բայց Հրեաները գրգռեցին բարեպաշտ եւ մեծայարգ կիներն ու քաղաքին գլխաւորները, եւ Պօղոսի ու Բառնաբասի դէմ հալածանք հանելով՝ իրենց հողամասէն դուրս դրին զանոնք:

But the Jews stirred up the devout and prominent women and the chief men of the city, and stirred up a persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and threw them out of their borders.

51 Անոնք ալ՝ իրենց ոտքերուն փոշին թօթուելով անոնց դէմ՝ գացին Իկոնիոն.

But they shook off the dust of their feet against them, and came to Iconium.

52 իսկ աշակերտները լեցուած էին ուրախութեամբ եւ Սուրբ Հոգիով՝՝:

The disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.
