ԱՌԱՋԻՆ ՏԻՄՈԹԷՈՍ 5

1 Մի՛ սաստեր տարեցը, հապա յորդորէ՛ զայն՝ հօր մը պէս. երիտասարդները՝ եղբայրներու պէս,

Blame thou not an eldere man, but biseche as a fadir, yonge men as britheren; elde wymmen as modris,

2 տարեց կիները՝ մայրերու պէս, դեռահասակները՝ քոյրերու պէս, բոլորովին մաքրակեցութեամբ:

yonge wymmen as sistris, in al chastite.

3 Պատուէ՛ այն այրիները՝ որ ի՛րապէս այրի են:

Honoure thou widewis, that ben very widewis.

4 Բայց եթէ այրի մը ունի զաւակներ կամ թոռներ, անոնք թող սորվին նախ իրենց տան մէջ բարեպաշտութիւն ցոյց տալ, ու փոխարէնը հատուցանել իրենց ծնողներուն. որովհետեւ ա՛յդ է բարին եւ ընդունելին Աստուծոյ առջեւ:

But if ony widewe hath children of sones, lerne sche first to gouerne her hous, and quyte to fadir and modir; for this thing is acceptid bifor God.

5 Իսկ ան որ ի՛րապէս այրի է ու մինակ մնացած, կը յուսայ Աստուծոյ, եւ գիշեր-ցերեկ կը յարատեւէ աղերսանքի ու աղօթքի մէջ.

And sche that is a widewe verili, and desolate, hope in to God, and be bisy in bisechingis and preieris niyt and dai.

6 մինչդեռ փափկասէր այրին մեռած է, թէպէտ կ՚ապրի:

For sche that is lyuynge in delicis, is deed.

7 Պատուիրէ՛ այս բաները, որպէսզի անարատ ըլլան:

And comaunde thou this thing, that thei be withouten repreef.

8 Բայց եթէ մէկը չի հոգար իրենները ու մա՛նաւանդ իր ընտանիքը, ան ուրացած է հաւատքը, եւ աւելի գէշ է՝ քան անհաւատ մը:

For if ony man hath not cure of his owne, and most of hise household men, he hath denyed the feith, and is worse than an vnfeithful man.

9 Իբր այրի թող դասուի ա՛ն՝ որ վաթսուն տարեկանէն կրտսեր չէ, մէկ մարդու կին եղած է,

A widewe be chosun not lesse than sixti yeer, that was wijf of oon hosebonde,

10 ու բարի գործերով վկայուած. եթէ զաւակներ մեծցուցած է, հիւրեր ընդունած, սուրբերուն ոտքերը լուացած, տառապեալներուն նպաստած, ամէն բարի գործի հետամուտ եղած:

and hath witnessing in good werkis, if sche nurschede children, if sche resseyuede pore men to herbore, if sche hath waischun the feet of hooli men, if sche mynystride to men that suffriden tribulacioun, if sche folewide al good werk.

11 Բայց մերժէ՛ դեռահասակ այրիները. քանի որ երբ պերճանքը հեռացնէ զիրենք Քրիստոսէ, կ՚ուզեն ամուսնանալ

But eschewe thou yongere widewis; for whanne thei han do letcherie, thei wolen be weddid in Crist,

12 եւ դատապարտութիւն կը կրեն՝՝, որովհետեւ կ՚անարգեն իրենց առաջին հաւատքը:

hauynge dampnacioun, for thei han maad voide the firste feith.

13 Նաեւ կը սորվին դատարկապորտ ըլլալ՝ շրջելով տունէ տուն. եւ ո՛չ միայն դատարկապորտ, այլ նաեւ շաղակրատ ու հետաքրքրամոլ՝ խօսելով անպատեհ բաներ:

Also thei idil lernen to go aboute housis, not oneli ydel, but ful of wordis and curiouse, spekynge thingis that bihoueth not.

14 Ուրեմն կը փափաքիմ որ դեռահասակ կիները ամուսնանան, զաւակներ ծնանին, իրենց տունը կառավարեն՝՝, եւ հեգնելու առիթ չտան հակառակորդին,

Therfor Y wole, that yongere widewis be weddid, and bringe forth children, and ben hosewyues, to yyue noon occasioun to the aduersarie, bi cause of cursid thing.

15 քանի որ արդէն ոմանք խոտորեցան՝ երթալով Սատանայի ետեւէն:

For now summe ben turned abak aftir Sathanas.

16 Եթէ հաւատացեալ այր մարդ մը կամ կին մը ունի այրիներ, ի՛նք թող նպաստէ անոնց, որպէսզի եկեղեցին չծանրաբեռնուի ու կարենայ նպաստել իրակա՛ն այրիներուն:

If ony feithful man hath widewis, mynystre he to hem, that the chirche be not greuyd, that it suffice to hem that ben very widewis.

17 Լաւ վերակացու եղող երէցները, մա՛նաւանդ անոնք՝ որոնց աշխատանքն է խօսքը քարոզել եւ սորվեցնել, թող արժանանան կրկնապատիկ պատիւի,

The prestis that ben wel gouernoures, be thei had worthi to double onour; moost thei that trauelen in word and teching.

18 որովհետեւ Գիրքը կ՚ըսէ. «Մի՛ կապեր կալի մէջ աշխատող՝՝ եզին դունչը»: Նաեւ. «Գործաւորը արժանի է իր վարձքին»:

For scripture seith, Thou schalt not bridil the mouth of the oxe threischinge, and, A werk man is worthi his hire.

19 Երէցի դէմ ամբաստանութիւն մի՛ ընդունիր, բայց միայն երկու կամ երեք վկայի առջեւ:

Nyle thou resseyue accusyng ayens a preest, but vndur tweyne or thre witnessis.

20 Անոնք որ կը մեղանչեն՝ կշտամբէ՛ բոլորին առջեւ, որպէսզի միւսներն ալ վախնան:

But reproue thou men that synnen bifor alle men, that also othere haue drede.

21 Կը վկայեմ Աստուծոյ, Յիսուս Քրիստոսի եւ ընտրեալ հրեշտակներուն առջեւ, որ պահես այս բաները առանց նախընտրանքի, ոչինչ ընելով կողմնակալութեամբ:

Y preie bifor God, and Jhesu Crist, and hise chosun aungelis, that thou kepe these thingis with oute preiudice, and do no thing in bowynge `in to the othere side.

22 Աճապարելով ձեռք մի՛ դներ ոեւէ մէկուն վրայ, եւ մի՛ հաղորդակցիր ուրիշներուն մեղքերուն: Դուն քեզ մաքրակենցա՛ղ պահէ:

Put thou hondis to no man, nether anoon comyne thou with othere mennus synnes. Kepe thi silf chast.

23 Այլեւս միայն ջուր մի՛ խմեր, հապա քիչ մըն ալ գինի գործածէ՝ ստամոքսիդ ու յաճախադէպ հիւանդութիւններուդ համար:

Nyle thou yit drinke watir, but vse a litil wyn, for thi stomac, and `for thin ofte fallynge infirmytees.

24 Կարգ մը մարդոց մեղքերը առաջուընէ յայտնի են, նախքան իրենց դատաստանը. իսկ ոմանց մեղքերը յետոյ կը յայտնուին՝՝:

Sum mennus synnes ben opyn, bifor goynge to dom; but of summen thei comen aftir.

25 Նոյնպէս ալ ոմանց բարի գործերը յայտնի են. իսկ անոնք որ տարբեր են՝ չեն կրնար պահուիլ:

And also goode dedis ben opyn, and tho that han hem in othere maner, moun not be hid.
