ԱՌԱՋԻՆ ԹԵՍԱՂՈՆԻԿԵՑԻՍ 5

1 Բայց, եղբայրնե՛ր, պէտք չունիք որ գրեմ ձեզի այդ ժամանակներուն եւ ատեններուն մասին,

But about the times and their order, my brothers, there is no need for me to say anything to you.

2 քանի որ դուք իսկ ճշգրտութեամբ գիտէք թէ Տէրոջ օրը կու գայ գիշերուան գողին պէս:

For you yourselves have the knowledge that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.

3 Երբ մարդիկ ըսեն թէ “խաղաղութիւն եւ ապահովութիւն է”, այն ատեն աւերումը անակնկալօրէն պիտի հասնի անոնց վրայ՝ յղիին երկունքին պէս, ու զերծ պիտի չմնան:

When they say, There is peace and no danger, then sudden destruction will come on them, as birth-pains on a woman with child; and they will not be able to get away from it.

4 Բայց դո՛ւք, եղբայրնե՛ր, խաւարի մէջ չէք, որ այդ օրը գողի մը պէս հասնի ձեր վրայ.

But you, my brothers, are not in the dark, for that day to overtake you like a thief:

5 որովհետեւ դուք բոլորդ լոյսի որդիներ էք, եւ ցերեկուան որդիներ.

For you are all sons of light and of the day: we are not of the night or of the dark.

6 գիշերուան որդիներ չենք, ո՛չ ալ խաւարի: Ուրեմն չքնանա՛նք ուրիշներու նման, հապա ըլլա՛նք արթուն ու զգաստ.

So then, let us not take our rest as the others do, but let us be self-controlled and awake.

7 քանի որ անոնք որ կը քնանան՝ գիշե՛րը կը քնանան, եւ անոնք որ կ՚արբենան՝ գիշե՛րը կ՚արբենան:

For those who are sleeping do so in the night; and those who are the worse for drink are so in the night;

8 Իսկ մենք՝ որ ցերեկուան որդիներն ենք, զգա՛ստ ըլլանք՝ հագնելով հաւատքի ու սիրոյ զրահը, եւ իբր սաղաւարտ՝ փրկութեան յոյսը:

But let us, who are of the day, be serious, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and on our heads, the hope of salvation.

9 Որովհետեւ Աստուած որոշեց մեզ ո՛չ թէ բարկութեան համար, հապա՝ փրկութեան տիրանալու մեր Տէրոջ՝ Յիսուս Քրիստոսի միջոցով:

For God's purpose for us is not wrath, but salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,

10 Ան մեռաւ մեզի համար, որպէսզի մենք ապրինք իրեն հետ, արթուն ըլլանք թէ քնացած:

Who was put to death for us, so that, awake or sleeping, we may have a part in his life.

11 Ուստի յորդորեցէ՛ք զիրար եւ շինեցէ՛ք զիրար, ինչպէս արդէն կ՚ընէք:

So then, go on comforting and building up one another, as you have been doing.

12 Կը թախանձենք ձեզի, եղբայրնե՛ր, որ ճանչնաք ձեր մէջ աշխատողները, Տէրոջմով վերակացուներն ու ձեզ խրատողները:

But we make this request to you, my brothers: give attention to those who are working among you, who are over you in the Lord to keep order among you;

13 Պատուեցէ՛ք զանոնք մեծ սիրով՝ իրենց գործին համար: Խաղաղութի՛ւն ունեցէք իրարու հետ:

And have a high opinion of them in love because of their work. Be at peace among yourselves.

14 Կը յորդորե՛նք ձեզ, եղբայրնե՛ր, խրատեցէ՛ք անկարգները, սփոփեցէ՛ք թուլասիրտները, ձեռնտո՛ւ եղէք տկարներուն, համբերատա՛ր եղէք բոլորին հանդէպ:

And our desire is that you will keep control over those whose lives are not well ordered, giving comfort to the feeble-hearted, supporting those with little strength, and putting up with much from all.

15 Զգուշացէ՛ք, ո՛չ մէկը չարիքի փոխարէն չարիք հատուցանէ ոեւէ մէկուն. հապա՝ ամէն ատեն հետամո՛ւտ եղէք բարիին, թէ՛ ձեր միջեւ, թէ՛ բոլորին հանդէպ:

Let no one give evil for evil; but ever go after what is good, for one another and for all.

16 Ամէն ատեն ուրա՛խ եղէք:

Have joy at all times.

17 Անդադար աղօթեցէ՛ք:

Keep on with your prayers.

18 Ամէն բանի մէջ շնորհակա՛լ եղէք, որովհետեւ ա՛յս է Աստուծոյ կամքը ձեզի հանդէպ՝ Քրիստոս Յիսուսով:

In everything give praise: for this is the purpose of God in Christ Jesus for you.

19 Մի՛ մարէք Սուրբ Հոգին:

Do not put out the light of the Spirit;

20 Մի՛ անարգէք մարգարէութիւնները:

Do not make little of the words of the prophets;

21 Քննեցէ՛ք ամէն բան, բարի՛ն ամուր բռնեցէք:

Let all things be tested; keep to what is good;

22 Ե՛տ կեցէք ամէն տեսակ չարութենէ:

Keep from every form of evil.

23 Նոյնինքն խաղաղութեան Աստուածը ամբողջովին սրբացնէ ձեզ, եւ ձեր հոգին, անձն ու մարմինը ամբողջութեամբ անմեղադրելի պահուին մինչեւ մեր Տէրոջ՝ Յիսուս Քրիստոսի գալուստը:

And may the God of peace himself make you holy in every way; and may your spirit and soul and body be free from all sin at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

24 Ա՛ն որ կանչեց ձեզ՝ հաւատարիմ է. նաեւ ի՛նք պիտի կատարէ ատիկա:

God, by whom you have been marked out in his purpose, is unchanging and will make it complete.

25 Եղբայրնե՛ր, աղօթեցէ՛ք մեզի համար:

Brothers, keep us in mind in your prayers.

26 Բարեւեցէ՛ք բոլոր եղբայրները սուրբ համբոյրով:

Give all the brothers a holy kiss.

27 Կը պարտադրեմ՝՝ ձեզ Տէրոջմով, որ կարդաք այս նամակը բոլոր սուրբ եղբայրներուն:

I give orders in the name of the Lord that all the brothers are to be present at the reading of this letter.

28 Մեր Տէրոջ՝ Յիսուս Քրիստոսի շնորհքը ձեզի հետ: Ամէն:

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
