اَلْمَزَامِيرُ 139

١ 1 لِإِمَامِ ٱلْمُغَنِّينَ. لِدَاوُدَ. مَزْمُورٌ يَارَبُّ، قَدِ ٱخْتَبَرْتَنِي وَعَرَفْتَنِي.

`To victorie, the salm of Dauith. Lord, thou hast preued me, and hast knowe me;

٢ 2 أَنْتَ عَرَفْتَ جُلُوسِي وَقِيَامِي. فَهِمْتَ فِكْرِي مِنْ بَعِيدٍ.

thou hast knowe my sitting, and my rising ayen.

٣ 3 مَسْلَكِي وَمَرْبَضِي ذَرَّيْتَ، وَكُلَّ طُرُقِي عَرَفْتَ.

Thou hast vndirstonde my thouytis fro fer; thou hast enquerid my path and my corde.

٤ 4 لِأَنَّهُ لَيْسَ كَلِمَةٌ فِي لِسَانِي، إِلَّا وَأَنْتَ يَارَبُّ عَرَفْتَهَا كُلَّهَا.

And thou hast bifor seien alle my weies; for no word is in my tunge.

٥ 5 مِنْ خَلْفٍ وَمِنْ قُدَّامٍ حَاصَرْتَنِي، وَجَعَلْتَ عَلَيَّ يَدَكَ.

Lo! Lord, thou hast knowe alle thingis, the laste thingis and elde; thou hast formed me, and hast set thin hond on me.

٦ 6 عَجِيبَةٌ هَذِهِ ٱلْمَعْرِفَةُ، فَوْقِي ٱرْتَفَعَتْ، لَا أَسْتَطِيعُهَا.

Thi kunnyng is maad wondirful of me; it is coumfortid, and Y schal not mowe to it.

٧ 7 أَيْنَ أَذْهَبُ مِنْ رُوحِكَ؟ وَمِنْ وَجْهِكَ أَيْنَ أَهْرُبُ؟

Whidir schal Y go fro thi spirit; and whider schal Y fle fro thi face?

٨ 8 إِنْ صَعِدْتُ إِلَى ٱلسَّمَاوَاتِ فَأَنْتَ هُنَاكَ، وَإِنْ فَرَشْتُ فِي ٱلْهَاوِيَةِ فَهَا أَنْتَ. (Sheol h7585)

If Y schal stie in to heuene, thou art there; if Y schal go doun to helle, thou art present. (Sheol h7585)

٩ 9 إِنْ أَخَذْتُ جَنَاحَيِ ٱلصُّبْحِ، وَسَكَنْتُ فِي أَقَاصِي ٱلْبَحْرِ،

If Y schal take my fetheris ful eerli; and schal dwelle in the last partis of the see.

١٠ 10 فَهُنَاكَ أَيْضًا تَهْدِينِي يَدُكَ وَتُمْسِكُنِي يَمِينُكَ.

And sotheli thider thin hond schal leede me forth; and thi riyt hond schal holde me.

١١ 11 فَقُلْتُ: «إِنَّمَا ٱلظُّلْمَةُ تَغْشَانِي». فَٱللَّيْلُ يُضِيءُ حَوْلِي!

And Y seide, In hap derknessis schulen defoule me; and the nyyt is my liytnyng in my delicis.

١٢ 12 ٱلظُّلْمَةُ أَيْضًا لَا تُظْلِمُ لَدَيْكَ، وَٱللَّيْلُ مِثْلَ ٱلنَّهَارِ يُضِيءُ. كَٱلظُّلْمَةِ هَكَذَا ٱلنُّورُ.

For whi derknessis schulen not be maad derk fro thee, aud the niyt schal be liytned as the dai; as the derknessis therof, so and the liyt therof.

١٣ 13 لِأَنَّكَ أَنْتَ ٱقْتَنَيْتَ كُلْيَتَيَّ. نَسَجْتَنِي فِي بَطْنِ أُمِّي.

For thou haddist in possessioun my reines; thou tokist me vp fro the wombe of my modir.

١٤ 14 أَحْمَدُكَ مِنْ أَجْلِ أَنِّي قَدِ ٱمْتَزْتُ عَجَبًا. عَجِيبَةٌ هِيَ أَعْمَالُكَ، وَنَفْسِي تَعْرِفُ ذَلِكَ يَقِينًا.

I schal knouleche to thee, for thou art magnefied dreedfuli; thi werkis ben wondirful, and my soule schal knouleche ful miche.

١٥ 15 لَمْ تَخْتَفِ عَنْكَ عِظَامِي حِينَمَا صُنِعْتُ فِي ٱلْخَفَاءِ، وَرُقِمْتُ فِي أَعْمَاقِ ٱلْأَرْضِ.

Mi boon, which thou madist in priuete, is not hyd fro thee; and my substaunce in the lower partis of erthe.

١٦ 16 رَأَتْ عَيْنَاكَ أَعْضَائِي، وَفِي سِفْرِكَ كُلُّهَا كُتِبَتْ يَوْمَ تَصَوَّرَتْ، إِذْ لَمْ يَكُنْ وَاحِدٌ مِنْهَا.

Thin iyen sien myn vnperfit thing, and alle men schulen be writun in thi book; daies schulen be formed, and no man is in tho.

١٧ 17 مَا أَكْرَمَ أَفْكَارَكَ يَا ٱللهُ عِنْدِي! مَا أَكْثَرَ جُمْلَتَهَا!

Forsothe, God, thi frendis ben maad onourable ful myche to me; the princeheed of hem is coumfortid ful myche.

١٨ 18 إِنْ أُحْصِهَا فَهِيَ أَكْثَرُ مِنَ ٱلرَّمْلِ. ٱسْتَيْقَظْتُ وَأَنَا بَعْدُ مَعَكَ.

I schal noumbre hem, and thei schulen be multiplied aboue grauel; Y roos vp, and yit Y am with thee.

١٩ 19 لَيْتَكَ تَقْتُلُ ٱلْأَشْرَارَ يَا ٱللهُ. فَيَا رِجَالَ ٱلدِّمَاءِ، ٱبْعُدُوا عَنِّي.

For thou, God, schalt slee synneris; ye menquelleris, bowe awei fro me.

٢٠ 20 ٱلَّذِينَ يُكَلِّمُونَكَ بِٱلْمَكْرِ نَاطِقِينَ بِٱلْكَذِبِ، هُمْ أَعْدَاؤُكَ.

For ye seien in thouyt; Take thei her citees in vanite.

٢١ 21 أَلَا أُبْغِضُ مُبْغِضِيكَ يَارَبُّ، وَأَمْقُتُ مُقَاوِمِيكَ؟

Lord, whether Y hatide not hem that hatiden thee; and Y failide on thin enemyes?

٢٢ 22 بُغْضًا تَامًّا أَبْغَضْتُهُمْ. صَارُوا لِي أَعْدَاءً.

Bi perfite haterede Y hatide hem; thei weren maad enemyes to me.

٢٣ 23 ٱخْتَبِرْنِي يَا ٱللهُ وَٱعْرِفْ قَلْبِي. ٱمْتَحِنِّي وَٱعْرِفْ أَفْكَارِي.

God, preue thou me, and knowe thou myn herte; axe thou me, and knowe thou my pathis.

٢٤ 24 وَٱنْظُرْ إِنْ كَانَ فِيَّ طَرِيقٌ بَاطِلٌ، وَٱهْدِنِي طَرِيقًا أَبَدِيًّا.

And se thou, if weie of wickidnesse is in me; and lede thou me forth in euerlastinge wei.
