< اَلْمَزَامِيرُ 119 >

طُوبَى لِلْكَامِلِينَ طَرِيقًا، ٱلسَّالِكِينَ فِي شَرِيعَةِ ٱلرَّبِّ. ١ 1
Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to Adonai’s Torah ·Teaching·.
طُوبَى لِحَافِظِي شَهَادَاتِهِ. مِنْ كُلِّ قُلُوبِهِمْ يَطْلُبُونَهُ. ٢ 2
Blessed are those who keep his testimonies, who seek him with their whole heart.
أَيْضًا لَا يَرْتَكِبُونَ إِثْمًا. فِي طُرُقِهِ يَسْلُكُونَ. ٣ 3
Yes, they do nothing wrong. They walk in his ways.
أَنْتَ أَوْصَيْتَ بِوَصَايَاكَ أَنْ تُحْفَظَ تَمَامًا. ٤ 4
You have enjoined your precepts, that we should fully obey them.
لَيْتَ طُرُقِي تُثَبَّتُ فِي حِفْظِ فَرَائِضِكَ. ٥ 5
Oh that my ways were steadfast to obey your statutes!
حِينَئِذٍ لَا أَخْزَى إِذَا نَظَرْتُ إِلَى كُلِّ وَصَايَاكَ. ٦ 6
Then I would not be disappointed, when I consider all of your mitzvot ·instructions·.
أَحْمَدُكَ بِٱسْتِقَامَةِ قَلْبٍ عِنْدَ تَعَلُّمِي أَحْكَامَ عَدْلِكَ. ٧ 7
I will yadah ·extend hands in thankful praise· to you with uprightness of heart, when I learn your righteous judgments.
وَصَايَاكَ أَحْفَظُ. لَا تَتْرُكْنِي إِلَى ٱلْغَايَةِ. ٨ 8
I will observe your statutes. Don’t utterly forsake me. BET and VET
بِمَ يُزَكِّي ٱلشَّابُّ طَرِيقَهُ؟ بِحِفْظِهِ إِيَّاهُ حَسَبَ كَلَامِكَ. ٩ 9
How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word.
بِكُلِّ قَلْبِي طَلَبْتُكَ. لَا تُضِلَّنِي عَنْ وَصَايَاكَ. ١٠ 10
With my whole heart, I have sought you. Don’t let me wander from your mitzvot ·instructions·.
خَبَأْتُ كَلَامَكَ فِي قَلْبِي لِكَيْلَا أُخْطِئَ إِلَيْكَ. ١١ 11
I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.
مُبَارَكٌ أَنْتَ يَارَبُّ. عَلِّمْنِي فَرَائِضَكَ. ١٢ 12
Blessed are you, Adonai. Teach me your statutes.
بِشَفَتَيَّ حَسَبْتُ كُلَّ أَحْكَامِ فَمِكَ. ١٣ 13
With my lips, I have declared all the judgments of your mouth.
بِطَرِيقِ شَهَادَاتِكَ فَرِحْتُ كَمَا عَلَى كُلِّ ٱلْغِنَى. ١٤ 14
I have rejoiced in the way of your testimonies, as much as in all riches.
بِوَصَايَاكَ أَلْهَجُ، وَأُلَاحِظُ سُبُلَكَ. ١٥ 15
I will meditate on your precepts, and consider your ways.
بِفَرَائِضِكَ أَتَلَذَّذُ. لَا أَنْسَى كَلَامَكَ. ١٦ 16
I will delight myself in your regulations. I will not forget your word. GIMEL
أَحْسِنْ إِلَى عَبْدِكَ، فَأَحْيَا وَأَحْفَظَ أَمْرَكَ. ١٧ 17
Do good to your servant. I will live and I will obey your word.
ٱكْشِفْ عَنْ عَيْنَيَّ فَأَرَى عَجَائِبَ مِنْ شَرِيعَتِكَ. ١٨ 18
Open my eyes, that I may see wondrous things out of your Torah ·Teaching·.
غَرِيبٌ أَنَا فِي ٱلْأَرْضِ. لَا تُخْفِ عَنِّي وَصَايَاكَ. ١٩ 19
I am a stranger on the earth. Don’t hide your mitzvot ·instructions·from me.
ٱنْسَحَقَتْ نَفْسِي شَوْقًا إِلَى أَحْكَامِكَ فِي كُلِّ حِينٍ. ٢٠ 20
My soul is consumed with longing for your judgments at all times.
ٱنْتَهَرْتَ ٱلْمُتَكَبِّرِينَ ٱلْمَلَاعِينَ ٱلضَّالِّينَ عَنْ وَصَايَاكَ. ٢١ 21
You have rebuked the proud who are cursed, who wander from your mitzvot ·instructions·.
دَحْرِجْ عَنِّي ٱلْعَارَ وَٱلْإِهَانَةَ، لِأَنِّي حَفِظْتُ شَهَادَاتِكَ. ٢٢ 22
Take reproach and contempt away from me, for I have kept your testimonies.
جَلَسَ أَيْضًا رُؤَسَاءُ، تَقَاوَلُوا عَلَيَّ. أَمَّا عَبْدُكَ فَيُنَاجِي بِفَرَائِضِكَ. ٢٣ 23
Though princes sit and slander me, your servant will meditate on your statutes.
أَيْضًا شَهَادَاتُكَ هِيَ لَذَّتِي، أَهْلُ مَشُورَتِي. ٢٤ 24
Indeed your testimonies are my delight, and my counselors. DALET
لَصِقَتْ بِٱلتُّرَابِ نَفْسِي، فَأَحْيِنِي حَسَبَ كَلِمَتِكَ. ٢٥ 25
My soul is laid low in the dust. Revive me according to your word!
قَدْ صَرَّحْتُ بِطُرُقِي فَٱسْتَجَبْتَ لِي. عَلِّمْنِي فَرَائِضَكَ. ٢٦ 26
I declared my ways, and you answered me. Teach me your statutes.
طَرِيقَ وَصَايَاكَ فَهِّمْنِي، فَأُنَاجِيَ بِعَجَائِبِكَ. ٢٧ 27
Let me understand the teaching of your precepts! Then I will meditate on your wondrous works.
قَطَرَتْ نَفْسِي مِنَ ٱلْحُزْنِ. أَقِمْنِي حَسَبَ كَلَامِكَ. ٢٨ 28
My soul is weary with sorrow: strengthen me according to your word.
طَرِيقَ ٱلْكَذِبِ أَبْعِدْ عَنِّي، وَبِشَرِيعَتِكَ ٱرْحَمْنِي. ٢٩ 29
Keep me from the way of deceit. Teach me your Torah ·Teaching· in your favor!
ٱخْتَرْتُ طَرِيقَ ٱلْحَقِّ. جَعَلْتُ أَحْكَامَكَ قُدَّامِي. ٣٠ 30
I have chosen the way of truth. I have set your judgments before me.
لَصِقْتُ بِشَهَادَاتِكَ. يَارَبُّ، لَا تُخْزِنِي. ٣١ 31
I cling to your testimonies, Adonai. Don’t let me be disappointed.
فِي طَرِيقِ وَصَايَاكَ أَجْرِي، لِأَنَّكَ تُرَحِّبُ قَلْبِي. ٣٢ 32
I run in the path of your mitzvot ·instructions·, for you have set my heart free. HEY
عَلِّمْنِي يَارَبُّ طَرِيقَ فَرَائِضِكَ، فَأَحْفَظَهَا إِلَى ٱلنِّهَايَةِ. ٣٣ 33
Teach me, Adonai, the way of your statutes. I will keep them to the end.
فَهِّمْنِي فَأُلَاحِظَ شَرِيعَتَكَ، وَأَحْفَظَهَا بِكُلِّ قَلْبِي. ٣٤ 34
Give me understanding, and I will keep your Torah ·Teaching·. Yes, I will obey it with my whole heart.
دَرِّبْنِي فِي سَبِيلِ وَصَايَاكَ، لِأَنِّي بِهِ سُرِرْتُ. ٣٥ 35
Direct me in the path of your mitzvot ·instructions·, for I delight in them.
أَمِلْ قَلْبِي إِلَى شَهَادَاتِكَ، لَا إِلَى ٱلْمَكْسَبِ. ٣٦ 36
Turn my heart toward your testimonies, not toward selfish gain.
حَوِّلْ عَيْنَيَّ عَنِ ٱلنَّظَرِ إِلَى ٱلْبَاطِلِ. فِي طَرِيقِكَ أَحْيِنِي. ٣٧ 37
Turn my eyes away from looking at worthless things. Revive me in your ways.
أَقِمْ لِعَبْدِكَ قَوْلَكَ ٱلَّذِي لِمُتَّقِيكَ. ٣٨ 38
Fulfill your promise to your servant, that you may be feared.
أَزِلْ عَارِي ٱلَّذِي حَذِرْتُ مِنْهُ، لِأَنَّ أَحْكَامَكَ طَيِّبَةٌ. ٣٩ 39
Take away my disgrace that I dread, for your judgments are good.
هَأَنَذَا قَدِ ٱشْتَهَيْتُ وَصَايَاكَ. بِعَدْلِكَ أَحْيِنِي. ٤٠ 40
Behold, I long for your precepts! Revive me in your righteousness. VAV
لِتَأْتِنِي رَحْمَتُكَ يَارَبُّ، خَلَاصُكَ حَسَبَ قَوْلِكَ، ٤١ 41
Let your cheshed ·loving-kindness· also come to me, Adonai, your salvation, according to your word.
فَأُجَاوِبَ مُعَيِّرِي كَلِمَةً، لِأَنِّي ٱتَّكَلْتُ عَلَى كَلَامِكَ. ٤٢ 42
So I will have an answer for him who reproaches me, for I trust in your word.
وَلَا تَنْزِعْ مِنْ فَمِي كَلَامَ ٱلْحَقِّ كُلَّ ٱلنَّزْعِ، لِأَنِّي ٱنْتَظَرْتُ أَحْكَامَكَ. ٤٣ 43
Don’t snatch the word of truth out of my mouth, for I put my hope in your judgments.
فَأَحْفَظَ شَرِيعَتَكَ دَائِمًا، إِلَى ٱلدَّهْرِ وَٱلْأَبَدِ، ٤٤ 44
So I will obey your Torah ·Teaching· continually, forever and ever.
وَأَتَمَشَّى فِي رَحْبٍ، لِأَنِّي طَلَبْتُ وَصَايَاكَ. ٤٥ 45
I will walk in liberty, for I have sought your precepts.
وَأَتَكَلَّمُ بِشَهَادَاتِكَ قُدَّامَ مُلُوكٍ وَلَا أَخْزَى، ٤٦ 46
I will also speak of your testimonies before kings, and will not be disappointed.
وَأَتَلَذَّذُ بِوَصَايَاكَ ٱلَّتِي أَحْبَبْتُ. ٤٧ 47
I will delight myself in your mitzvot ·instructions·, because I 'ahav ·affectionately love· them.
وَأَرْفَعُ يَدَيَّ إِلَى وَصَايَاكَ ٱلَّتِي وَدِدْتُ، وَأُنَاجِي بِفَرَائِضِكَ. ٤٨ 48
I reach out my hands for your mitzvot ·instructions·, which I 'ahav ·affectionately love·. I will meditate on your statutes. ZAYIN
اُذْكُرْ لِعَبْدِكَ ٱلْقَوْلَ ٱلَّذِي جَعَلْتَنِي أَنْتَظِرُهُ. ٤٩ 49
Remember your word to your servant, because you gave me hope.
هَذِهِ هِيَ تَعْزِيَتِي فِي مَذَلَّتِي، لِأَنَّ قَوْلَكَ أَحْيَانِي. ٥٠ 50
This is my comfort in my affliction, for your word has revived me.
ٱلْمُتَكَبِّرُونَ ٱسْتَهْزَأُوا بِي إِلَى ٱلْغَايَةِ. عَنْ شَرِيعَتِكَ لَمْ أَمِلْ. ٥١ 51
The arrogant mock me excessively, but I don’t swerve from your Torah ·Teaching·.
تَذَكَّرْتُ أَحْكَامَكَ مُنْذُ ٱلدَّهْرِ يَارَبُّ، فَتَعَزَّيْتُ. ٥٢ 52
I remember your judgments of old, Adonai, and have comforted myself.
ٱلْحَمِيَّةُ أَخَذَتْنِي بِسَبَبِ ٱلْأَشْرَارِ تَارِكِي شَرِيعَتِكَ. ٥٣ 53
Indignation has taken hold on me, because of the wicked who forsake your Torah ·Teaching·.
تَرْنِيمَاتٍ صَارَتْ لِي فَرَائِضُكَ فِي بَيْتِ غُرْبَتِي. ٥٤ 54
Your statutes have been my songs, in the house where I live.
ذَكَرْتُ فِي ٱللَّيْلِ ٱسْمَكَ يَارَبُّ، وَحَفِظْتُ شَرِيعَتَكَ. ٥٥ 55
I have remembered your name, Adonai, in the night, and I obey your Torah ·Teaching·.
هَذَا صَارَ لِي، لِأَنِّي حَفِظْتُ وَصَايَاكَ. ٥٦ 56
This is my way, that I keep your precepts. HET or CHET
نَصِيبِي ٱلرَّبُّ، قُلْتُ لِحِفْظِ كَلَامِكَ. ٥٧ 57
Adonai is my portion. I promised to obey your words.
تَرَضَّيْتُ وَجْهَكَ بِكُلِّ قَلْبِي. ٱرْحَمْنِي حَسَبَ قَوْلِكَ. ٥٨ 58
I sought your favor with my whole heart. Be merciful to me according to your word.
تَفَكَّرْتُ فِي طُرُقِي، وَرَدَدْتُ قَدَمَيَّ إِلَى شَهَادَاتِكَ. ٥٩ 59
I considered my ways, and turned my steps to your testimonies.
أَسْرَعْتُ وَلَمْ أَتَوَانَ لِحِفْظِ وَصَايَاكَ. ٦٠ 60
I will hurry, and not delay, to obey your mitzvot ·instructions·.
حِبَالُ ٱلْأَشْرَارِ ٱلْتَفَّتْ عَلَيَّ. أَمَّا شَرِيعَتُكَ فَلَمْ أَنْسَهَا. ٦١ 61
The ropes of the wicked bind me, but I won’t forget your Torah ·Teaching·.
فِي مُنْتَصَفِ ٱللَّيْلِ أَقُومُ لِأَحْمَدَكَ عَلَى أَحْكَامِ بِرِّكَ. ٦٢ 62
At midnight I will rise to yadah ·extend hands in thankful praise· to you, because of your righteous judgments.
رَفِيقٌ أَنَا لِكُلِّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَتَّقُونَكَ وَلِحَافِظِي وَصَايَاكَ. ٦٣ 63
I am a friend of all those who fear you, of those who observe your precepts.
رَحْمَتُكَ يَارَبُّ قَدْ مَلَأَتِ ٱلْأَرْضَ. عَلِّمْنِي فَرَائِضَكَ. ٦٤ 64
The earth is full of your cheshed ·loving-kindness·, Adonai. Teach me your statutes. TET
خَيْرًا صَنَعْتَ مَعَ عَبْدِكَ يَارَبُّ حَسَبَ كَلَامِكَ. ٦٥ 65
Do good to your servant, according to your word, Adonai.
ذَوْقًا صَالِحًا وَمَعْرِفَةً عَلِّمْنِي، لِأَنِّي بِوَصَايَاكَ آمَنْتُ. ٦٦ 66
Teach me good judgment and knowledge, for I believe in your mitzvot ·instructions·.
قَبْلَ أَنْ أُذَلَّلَ أَنَا ضَلَلْتُ، أَمَّا ٱلْآنَ فَحَفِظْتُ قَوْلَكَ. ٦٧ 67
Before I was afflicted, I went astray; but now I observe your word.
صَالِحٌ أَنْتَ وَمُحْسِنٌ. عَلِّمْنِي فَرَائِضَكَ. ٦٨ 68
You are good, and do good. Teach me your statutes.
ٱلْمُتَكَبِّرُونَ قَدْ لَفَّقُوا عَلَيَّ كَذِبًا، أَمَّا أَنَا فَبِكُلِّ قَلْبِي أَحْفَظُ وَصَايَاكَ. ٦٩ 69
The proud have smeared a lie upon me. With my whole heart, I will keep your precepts.
سَمِنَ مِثْلَ ٱلشَّحْمِ قَلْبُهُمْ، أَمَّا أَنَا فَبِشَرِيعَتِكَ أَتَلَذَّذُ. ٧٠ 70
Their heart is as callous as the fat, but I delight in your Torah ·Teaching·.
خَيْرٌ لِي أَنِّي تَذَلَّلْتُ لِكَيْ أَتَعَلَّمَ فَرَائِضَكَ. ٧١ 71
It is good for me that I have been afflicted, that I may learn your statutes.
شَرِيعَةُ فَمِكَ خَيْرٌ لِي مِنْ أُلُوفِ ذَهَبٍ وَفِضَّةٍ. ٧٢ 72
The Torah ·Teaching· of your mouth is better to me than thousands of pieces of gold and silver. YOD or YUD
يَدَاكَ صَنَعَتَانِي وَأَنْشَأَتَانِي. فَهِّمْنِي فَأَتَعَلَّمَ وَصَايَاكَ. ٧٣ 73
Your hands have made me and formed me. Give me understanding, that I may learn your mitzvot ·instructions·.
مُتَّقُوكَ يَرَوْنَنِي فَيَفْرَحُونَ، لِأَنِّي ٱنْتَظَرْتُ كَلَامَكَ. ٧٤ 74
Those who fear you will see me and be glad, because I have put my hope in your word.
قَدْ عَلِمْتُ يَارَبُّ أَنَّ أَحْكَامَكَ عَدْلٌ، وَبِٱلْحَقِّ أَذْلَلْتَنِي. ٧٥ 75
Adonai, I know that your judgments are righteous, that in faithfulness you have afflicted me.
فَلْتَصِرْ رَحْمَتُكَ لِتَعْزِيَتِي، حَسَبَ قَوْلِكَ لِعَبْدِكَ. ٧٦ 76
Please let your cheshed ·loving-kindness· be for my comfort, according to your word to your servant.
لِتَأْتِنِي مَرَاحِمُكَ فَأَحْيَا، لِأَنَّ شَرِيعَتَكَ هِيَ لَذَّتِي. ٧٧ 77
Let your tender racham ·merciful love· come to me, that I may live; for your Torah ·Teaching· is my delight.
لِيَخْزَ ٱلْمُتَكَبِّرُونَ لِأَنَّهُمْ زُورًا ٱفْتَرَوْا عَلَيَّ. أَمَّا أَنَا فَأُنَاجِي بِوَصَايَاكَ. ٧٨ 78
Let the proud be disappointed, for they have overthrown me wrongfully. I will meditate on your precepts.
لِيَرْجِعْ إِلَيَّ مُتَّقُوكَ وَعَارِفُو شَهَادَاتِكَ. ٧٩ 79
Let those who fear you turn to me. They will know your testimonies.
لِيَكُنْ قَلْبِي كَامِلًا فِي فَرَائِضِكَ لِكَيْلَا أَخْزَى. ٨٠ 80
Let my heart be blameless toward your statutes, that I may not be disappointed. KAF
تَاقَتْ نَفْسِي إِلَى خَلَاصِكَ. كَلَامَكَ ٱنْتَظَرْتُ. ٨١ 81
My soul faints for your salvation. I hope in your word.
كَلَّتْ عَيْنَايَ مِنَ ٱلنَّظَرِ إِلَى قَوْلِكَ، فَأَقُولُ: «مَتَى تُعَزِّينِي؟». ٨٢ 82
My eyes fail for your word. I say, “When will you comfort me?”
لِأَنِّي قَدْ صِرْتُ كَزِقٍّ فِي ٱلدُّخَانِ، أَمَّا فَرَائِضُكَ فَلَمْ أَنْسَهَا. ٨٣ 83
For I have become like a wineskin in the smoke. I don’t forget your statutes.
كَمْ هِيَ أَيَّامُ عَبْدِكَ؟ مَتَى تُجْرِي حُكْمًا عَلَى مُضْطَهِدِيَّ؟ ٨٤ 84
How many are the days of your servant? When will you execute judgement on those who persecute me?
ٱلْمُتَكَبِّرُونَ قَدْ كَرَوْا لِي حَفَائِرَ. ذَلِكَ لَيْسَ حَسَبَ شَرِيعَتِكَ. ٨٥ 85
The proud have dug pits for me, contrary to your Torah ·Teaching·.
كُلُّ وَصَايَاكَ أَمَانَةٌ. زُورًا يَضْطَهِدُونَنِي. أَعِنِّي. ٨٦ 86
All of your mitzvot ·instructions· are faithful. They persecute me wrongfully. Help me!
لَوْلَا قَلِيلٌ لَأَفْنَوْنِي مِنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ. أَمَّا أَنَا فَلَمْ أَتْرُكْ وَصَايَاكَ. ٨٧ 87
They had almost wiped me from the earth, but I didn’t forsake your precepts.
حَسَبَ رَحْمَتِكَ أَحْيِنِي، فَأَحْفَظَ شَهَادَاتِ فَمِكَ. ٨٨ 88
Preserve my life according to your cheshed ·loving-kindness·, so I will obey the testimonies of your mouth. LAMED
إِلَى ٱلْأَبَدِ يَارَبُّ كَلِمَتُكَ مُثَبَّتَةٌ فِي ٱلسَّمَاوَاتِ. ٨٩ 89
Adonai, your word is settled in heaven forever.
إِلَى دَوْرٍ فَدَوْرٍ أَمَانَتُكَ. أَسَّسْتَ ٱلْأَرْضَ فَثَبَتَتْ. ٩٠ 90
Your faithfulness is to all generations. You have established the earth, and it remains.
عَلَى أَحْكَامِكَ ثَبَتَتِ ٱلْيَوْمَ، لِأَنَّ ٱلْكُلَّ عَبِيدُكَ. ٩١ 91
Your judgments remain to this day, for all things serve you.
لَوْ لَمْ تَكُنْ شَرِيعَتُكَ لَذَّتِي، لَهَلَكْتُ حِينَئِذٍ فِي مَذَلَّتِي. ٩٢ 92
Unless your Torah ·Teaching· had been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction.
إِلَى ٱلدَّهْرِ لَا أَنْسَى وَصَايَاكَ، لِأَنَّكَ بِهَا أَحْيَيْتَنِي. ٩٣ 93
I will never forget your precepts, for with them, you have revived me.
لَكَ أَنَا فَخَلِّصْنِي، لِأَنِّي طَلَبْتُ وَصَايَاكَ. ٩٤ 94
I am yours. Save me, for I have sought your precepts.
إِيَّايَ ٱنْتَظَرَ ٱلْأَشْرَارُ لِيُهْلِكُونِي. بِشَهَادَاتِكَ أَفْطُنُ. ٩٥ 95
The wicked have waited for me, to destroy me. I will consider your testimonies.
لِكُلِّ كَمَالٍ رَأَيْتُ حَدًّا، أَمَّا وَصِيَّتُكَ فَوَاسِعَةٌ جِدًّا. ٩٦ 96
I have seen a limit to all perfection, but your mitzvot ·instructions· are boundless. MEM
كَمْ أَحْبَبْتُ شَرِيعَتَكَ! ٱلْيَوْمَ كُلَّهُ هِيَ لَهَجِي. ٩٧ 97
How I 'ahav ·affectionately love· your Torah ·Teaching·! It is my meditation all day.
وَصِيَّتُكَ جَعَلَتْنِي أَحْكَمَ مِنْ أَعْدَائِي، لِأَنَّهَا إِلَى ٱلدَّهْرِ هِيَ لِي. ٩٨ 98
I am wiser than my enemies, for your mitzvot ·instructions· are always with me.
أَكْثَرَ مِنْ كُلِّ مُعَلِّمِيَّ تَعَقَّلْتُ، لِأَنَّ شَهَادَاتِكَ هِيَ لَهَجِي. ٩٩ 99
I have more understanding than all my teachers, for your testimonies are my (meditation)
أَكْثَرَ مِنَ ٱلشُّيُوخِ فَطِنْتُ، لِأَنِّي حَفِظْتُ وَصَايَاكَ. ١٠٠ 100
I understand more than the aged, because I have kept your precepts.
مِنْ كُلِّ طَرِيقِ شَرٍّ مَنَعْتُ رِجْلَيَّ، لِكَيْ أَحْفَظَ كَلَامَكَ. ١٠١ 101
I have kept my feet from every evil way, that I might observe your word.
عَنْ أَحْكَامِكَ لَمْ أَمِلْ، لِأَنَّكَ أَنْتَ عَلَّمْتَنِي. ١٠٢ 102
I have not turned aside from your judgments, for you have taught me.
مَا أَحْلَى قَوْلَكَ لِحَنَكِي! أَحْلَى مِنَ ٱلْعَسَلِ لِفَمِي. ١٠٣ 103
How sweet are your promises to my taste, more than honey to my mouth!
مِنْ وَصَايَاكَ أَتَفَطَّنُ، لِذَلِكَ أَبْغَضْتُ كُلَّ طَرِيقِ كَذِبٍ. ١٠٤ 104
Through your precepts, I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way. NUN
سِرَاجٌ لِرِجْلِي كَلَامُكَ وَنُورٌ لِسَبِيلِي. ١٠٥ 105
Your word is a lamp candle to my feet, and a light for my path.
حَلَفْتُ فَأَبِرُّهُ، أَنْ أَحْفَظَ أَحْكَامَ بِرِّكَ. ١٠٦ 106
I have sworn, and have confirmed it, that I will obey your righteous judgments.
تَذَلَّلْتُ إِلَى ٱلْغَايَةِ. يَارَبُّ، أَحْيِنِي حَسَبَ كَلَامِكَ. ١٠٧ 107
I am afflicted very much. Revive me, Adonai, according to your word.
ٱرْتَضِ بِمَنْدُوبَاتِ فَمِي يَارَبُّ، وَأَحْكَامَكَ عَلِّمْنِي. ١٠٨ 108
Accept, I beg you, the willing offerings of my mouth. Adonai, teach me your judgments.
نَفْسِي دَائِمًا فِي كَفِّي، أَمَّا شَرِيعَتُكَ فَلَمْ أَنْسَهَا. ١٠٩ 109
My soul is continually in my hand, yet I won’t forget your Torah ·Teaching·.
ٱلْأَشْرَارُ وَضَعُوا لِي فَخًّا، أَمَّا وَصَايَاكَ فَلَمْ أَضِلَّ عَنْهَا. ١١٠ 110
The wicked have laid a snare for me, yet I haven’t gone astray from your precepts.
وَرِثْتُ شَهَادَاتِكَ إِلَى ٱلدَّهْرِ، لِأَنَّهَا هِيَ بَهْجَةُ قَلْبِي. ١١١ 111
I have taken your testimonies as a heritage forever, for they are the joy of my heart.
عَطَفْتُ قَلْبِي لِأَصْنَعَ فَرَائِضَكَ إِلَى ٱلدَّهْرِ إِلَى ٱلنِّهَايَةِ. ١١٢ 112
I have set my heart to perform your statutes forever, even to the end. SAMECH
ٱلْمُتَقَلِّبِينَ أَبْغَضْتُ، وَشَرِيعَتَكَ أَحْبَبْتُ. ١١٣ 113
I hate double-minded men, but I 'ahav ·affectionately love· your Torah ·Teaching·.
سِتْرِي وَمِجَنِّي أَنْتَ. كَلَامَكَ ٱنْتَظَرْتُ. ١١٤ 114
You are my hiding place and my shield. I hope in your word.
ٱنْصَرِفُوا عَنِّي أَيُّهَا ٱلْأَشْرَارُ، فَأَحْفَظَ وَصَايَا إِلَهِي. ١١٥ 115
Depart from me, you evildoers, that I may keep the mitzvot ·instructions· of my God.
ٱعْضُدْنِي حَسَبَ قَوْلِكَ فَأَحْيَا، وَلَا تُخْزِنِي مِنْ رَجَائِي. ١١٦ 116
Uphold me according to your word, that I may live. Let me not be ashamed of my hope.
أَسْنِدْنِي فَأَخْلُصَ، وَأُرَاعِيَ فَرَائِضَكَ دَائِمًا. ١١٧ 117
Hold me up, and I will be safe, and will have respect for your statutes continually.
ٱحْتَقَرْتَ كُلَّ ٱلضَّالِّينَ عَنْ فَرَائِضِكَ، لِأَنَّ مَكْرَهُمْ بَاطِلٌ. ١١٨ 118
You reject all those who stray from your statutes, for their deceit is in vain.
كَزَغَلٍ عَزَلْتَ كُلَّ أَشْرَارِ ٱلْأَرْضِ، لِذَلِكَ أَحْبَبْتُ شَهَادَاتِكَ. ١١٩ 119
You put away all the wicked of the earth like dross. Therefore I 'ahav ·affectionately love· your testimonies.
قَدِ ٱقْشَعَرَّ لَحْمِي مِنْ رُعْبِكَ، وَمِنْ أَحْكَامِكَ جَزِعْتُ. ١٢٠ 120
My flesh trembles for fear of you. I am afraid of your judgments. 'AYIN
أَجْرَيْتُ حُكْمًا وَعَدْلًا. لَا تُسْلِمْنِي إِلَى ظَالِمِيَّ. ١٢١ 121
I have done what is mishpat ·just· and upright. Don’t leave me to my oppressors.
كُنْ ضَامِنَ عَبْدِكَ لِلْخَيْرِ، لِكَيْلَا يَظْلِمَنِي ٱلْمُسْتَكْبِرُونَ. ١٢٢ 122
Ensure your servant’s well-being. Don’t let the proud oppress me.
كَلَّتْ عَيْنَايَ ٱشْتِيَاقًا إِلَى خَلَاصِكَ وَإِلَى كَلِمَةِ بِرِّكَ. ١٢٣ 123
My eyes fail looking for your yishu'ah ·salvation·, for your righteous word.
ٱصْنَعْ مَعَ عَبْدِكَ حَسَبَ رَحْمَتِكَ، وَفَرَائِضَكَ عَلِّمْنِي. ١٢٤ 124
Deal with your servant according to your cheshed ·loving-kindness·. Teach me your statutes.
عَبْدُكَ أَنَا. فَهِّمْنِي فَأَعْرِفَ شَهَادَاتِكَ. ١٢٥ 125
I am your servant. Give me understanding, that I may know your testimonies.
إِنَّهُ وَقْتُ عَمَلٍ لِلرَّبِّ. قَدْ نَقَضُوا شَرِيعَتَكَ. ١٢٦ 126
It is time to act, Adonai, for they break your Torah ·Teaching·.
لِأَجْلِ ذَلِكَ أَحْبَبْتُ وَصَايَاكَ أَكْثَرَ مِنَ ٱلذَّهَبِ وَٱلْإِبْرِيزِ. ١٢٧ 127
Therefore I 'ahav ·affectionately love· your mitzvot ·instructions· more than gold, yes, more than pure gold.
لِأَجْلِ ذَلِكَ حَسِبْتُ كُلَّ وَصَايَاكَ فِي كُلِّ شَيْءٍ مُسْتَقِيمَةً. كُلَّ طَرِيقِ كَذِبٍ أَبْغَضْتُ. ١٢٨ 128
Therefore I consider all of your precepts to be right. I hate every false way. PEH or FEH
عَجِيبَةٌ هِيَ شَهَادَاتُكَ، لِذَلِكَ حَفِظَتْهَا نَفْسِي. ١٢٩ 129
Your testimonies are wonderful, therefore my soul keeps them.
فَتْحُ كَلَامِكَ يُنِيرُ، يُعَقِّلُ ٱلْجُهَّالَ. ١٣٠ 130
The entrance of your words gives light. It gives understanding to the simple.
فَغَرْتُ فَمِي وَلَهَثْتُ، لِأَنِّي إِلَى وَصَايَاكَ ٱشْتَقْتُ. ١٣١ 131
I opened my mouth wide and panted, for I longed for your mitzvot ·instructions·.
ٱلْتَفِتْ إِلَيَّ وَٱرْحَمْنِي، كَحَقِّ مُحِبِّي ٱسْمِكَ. ١٣٢ 132
Turn to me, and be merciful towards me, as you always do mishpat ·justice· to those who 'ahav ·affectionately love· your name.
ثَبِّتْ خُطُوَاتِي فِي كَلِمَتِكَ، وَلَا يَتَسَلَّطْ عَلَيَّ إِثْمٌ. ١٣٣ 133
Establish my footsteps in your word. Don’t let any iniquity have dominion over me.
ٱفْدِنِي مِنْ ظُلْمِ ٱلْإِنْسَانِ، فَأَحْفَظَ وَصَايَاكَ. ١٣٤ 134
Redeem me from the oppression of man, so I will observe your precepts.
أَضِئْ بِوَجْهِكَ عَلَى عَبْدِكَ، وَعَلِّمْنِي فَرَائِضَكَ. ١٣٥ 135
Make your face shine on your servant. Teach me your statutes.
جَدَاوِلُ مِيَاهٍ جَرَتْ مِنْ عَيْنَيَّ، لِأَنَّهُمْ لَمْ يَحْفَظُوا شَرِيعَتَكَ. ١٣٦ 136
Streams of tears run down my eyes, because they don’t observe your Torah ·Teaching·. TZADI
بَارٌّ أَنْتَ يَارَبُّ، وَأَحْكَامُكَ مُسْتَقِيمَةٌ. ١٣٧ 137
You are righteous, Adonai. Your judgments are upright.
عَدْلًا أَمَرْتَ بِشَهَادَاتِكَ، وَحَقًّا إِلَى ٱلْغَايَةِ. ١٣٨ 138
Your testimonies you have enjoined are in righteousness. They are fully trustworthy.
أَهْلَكَتْنِي غَيْرَتِي، لِأَنَّ أَعْدَائِي نَسُوا كَلَامَكَ. ١٣٩ 139
My zeal wears me out, because my enemies ignore your words.
كَلِمَتُكَ مُمَحَّصَةٌ جِدًّا، وَعَبْدُكَ أَحَبَّهَا. ١٤٠ 140
Your promises have been thoroughly tested, and your servant 'ahav ·affectionately loves· them.
صَغِيرٌ أَنَا وَحَقِيرٌ، أَمَّا وَصَايَاكَ فَلَمْ أَنْسَهَا. ١٤١ 141
I am small and despised. I don’t forget your precepts.
عَدْلُكَ عَدْلٌ إِلَى ٱلدَّهْرِ، وَشَرِيعَتُكَ حَقٌّ. ١٤٢ 142
Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness. Your Torah ·Teaching· is truth.
ضِيْقٌ وَشِدَّةٌ أَصَابَانِي، أَمَّا وَصَايَاكَ فَهِيَ لَذَّاتِي. ١٤٣ 143
Trouble and anguish have taken hold of me. Your mitzvot ·instructions· are my delight.
عَادِلَةٌ شَهَادَاتُكَ إِلَى ٱلدَّهْرِ. فَهِّمْنِي فَأَحْيَا. ١٤٤ 144
Your testimonies are righteous forever. Give me understanding, that I may live. KOF or KUF
صَرَخْتُ مِنْ كُلِّ قَلْبِي. ٱسْتَجِبْ لِي يَارَبُّ. فَرَائِضَكَ أَحْفَظُ. ١٤٥ 145
Wholeheartedly I am calling on you; Answer me, Adonai! I will keep your statutes.
دَعَوْتُكَ. خَلِّصْنِي، فَأَحْفَظَ شَهَادَاتِكَ. ١٤٦ 146
I have called to you. Save me! I will obey your testimonies.
تَقَدَّمْتُ فِي ٱلصُّبْحِ وَصَرَخْتُ. كَلَامَكَ ٱنْتَظَرْتُ. ١٤٧ 147
I rise before dawn and cry for help. I put my hope in your words.
تَقَدَّمَتْ عَيْنَايَ ٱلْهُزُعَ، لِكَيْ أَلْهَجَ بِأَقْوَالِكَ. ١٤٨ 148
My eyes stay open through the night watches, that I might meditate on your word.
صَوْتِيَ ٱسْتَمِعْ حَسَبَ رَحْمَتِكَ. يَارَبُّ، حَسَبَ أَحْكَامِكَ أَحْيِنِي. ١٤٩ 149
Sh'ma ·Hear obey· my voice according to your cheshed ·loving-kindness·. Revive me, Adonai, according to your judgments.
ٱقْتَرَبَ ٱلتَّابِعُونَ ٱلرَّذِيلَةَ. عَنْ شَرِيعَتِكَ بَعُدُوا. ١٥٠ 150
They draw near who follow after wickedness. They are far from your Torah ·Teaching·.
قَرِيبٌ أَنْتَ يَارَبُّ، وَكُلُّ وَصَايَاكَ حَقٌّ. ١٥١ 151
You are near, Adonai. All your mitzvot ·instructions· are truth.
مُنْذُ زَمَانٍ عَرَفْتُ مِنْ شَهَادَاتِكَ أَنَّكَ إِلَى ٱلدَّهْرِ أَسَّسْتَهَا. ١٥٢ 152
Of old I have known from your testimonies, that you have founded them forever. RESH
اُنْظُرْ إِلَى ذُلِّي وَأَنْقِذْنِي، لِأَنِّي لَمْ أَنْسَ شَرِيعَتَكَ. ١٥٣ 153
Consider my affliction, and deliver me, for I don’t forget your Torah ·Teaching·.
أَحْسِنْ دَعْوَايَ. ١٥٤ 154
Plead my cause, and redeem me! Revive me according to your promise.
ٱلْخَلَاصُ بَعِيدٌ عَنِ ٱلْأَشْرَارِ، لِأَنَّهُمْ لَمْ يَلْتَمِسُوا فَرَائِضَكَ. ١٥٥ 155
Yishu'ah ·Salvation· is far from the wicked, for they don’t seek your statutes.
كَثِيرَةٌ هِيَ مَرَاحِمُكَ يَارَبُّ. حَسَبَ أَحْكَامِكَ أَحْيِنِي. ١٥٦ 156
Great is your tender racham ·merciful love· to me, Adonai. Revive me according to your judgments.
كَثِيرُونَ مُضْطَهِدِيَّ وَمُضَايِقِيَّ، أَمَّا شَهَادَاتُكَ فَلَمْ أَمِلْ عَنْهَا. ١٥٧ 157
Many are my persecutors and my adversaries. I haven’t deviated from your testimonies.
رَأَيْتُ ٱلْغَادِرِينَ وَمَقَتُّ، لِأَنَّهُمْ لَمْ يَحْفَظُوا كَلِمَتَكَ. ١٥٨ 158
I look at the faithless with loathing, because they don’t observe your word.
ٱنْظُرْ أَنِّي أَحْبَبْتُ وَصَايَاكَ. يَارَبُّ، حَسَبَ رَحْمَتِكَ أَحْيِنِي. ١٥٩ 159
Consider how I 'ahav ·affectionately love· your precepts. Revive me, Adonai, according to your cheshed ·loving-kindness·.
رَأْسُ كَلَامِكَ حَقٌّ، وَإِلَى ٱلدَّهْرِ كُلُّ أَحْكَامِ عَدْلِكَ. ١٦٠ 160
All of your words are truth. Every one of your righteous judgments endures forever. SIN and SHIN
رُؤَسَاءُ ٱضْطَهَدُونِي بِلَا سَبَبٍ، وَمِنْ كَلَامِكَ جَزِعَ قَلْبِي. ١٦١ 161
Princes have persecuted me without a cause, but my heart stands in awe of your words.
أَبْتَهِجُ أَنَا بِكَلَامِكَ كَمَنْ وَجَدَ غَنِيمَةً وَافِرَةً. ١٦٢ 162
I rejoice at your word, as one who finds great plunder.
أَبْغَضْتُ ٱلْكَذِبَ وَكَرِهْتُهُ، أَمَّا شَرِيعَتُكَ فَأَحْبَبْتُهَا. ١٦٣ 163
I hate and abhor falsehood. I 'ahav ·affectionately love· your Torah ·Teaching·.
سَبْعَ مَرَّاتٍ فِي ٱلنَّهَارِ سَبَّحْتُكَ عَلَى أَحْكَامِ عَدْلِكَ. ١٦٤ 164
Seven times a day, I praise you, because of your righteous judgments.
سَلَامَةٌ جَزِيلَةٌ لِمُحِبِّي شَرِيعَتِكَ، وَلَيْسَ لَهُمْ مَعْثَرَةٌ. ١٦٥ 165
Those who 'ahav ·affectionately love· your Torah ·Teaching· have great peace. Nothing causes them to stumble.
رَجَوْتُ خَلَاصَكَ يَارَبُّ، وَوَصَايَاكَ عَمِلْتُ. ١٦٦ 166
I have hoped for your yishu'ah ·salvation·, Adonai. I obey your mitzvot ·instructions·.
حَفِظَتْ نَفْسِي شَهَادَاتِكَ، وَأُحِبُّهَا جِدًّا. ١٦٧ 167
My soul has observed your testimonies. I 'ahav ·affectionately love· them exceedingly.
حَفِظْتُ وَصَايَاكَ وَشَهَادَاتِكَ، لِأَنَّ كُلَّ طُرُقِي أَمَامَكَ. ١٦٨ 168
I have obeyed your precepts and your testimonies, for all my ways are before you. TAV
لِيَبْلُغْ صُرَاخِي إِلَيْكَ يَارَبُّ. حَسَبَ كَلَامِكَ فَهِّمْنِي. ١٦٩ 169
Let my cry come before you, Adonai. Give me understanding according to your word.
لِتَدْخُلْ طِلْبَتِي إِلَى حَضْرَتِكَ. كَكَلِمَتِكَ نَجِّنِي. ١٧٠ 170
Let my supplication come before you. Deliver me according to your word.
تُنَبِّعُ شَفَتَايَ تَسْبِيحًا إِذَا عَلَّمْتَنِي فَرَائِضَكَ. ١٧١ 171
Let my lips utter tehilah ·praise song·, for you teach me your statutes.
يُغَنِّي لِسَانِي بِأَقْوَالِكَ، لِأَنَّ كُلَّ وَصَايَاكَ عَدْلٌ. ١٧٢ 172
Let my tongue sing of your word, for all your mitzvot ·instructions· are righteousness.
لِتَكُنْ يَدُكَ لِمَعُونَتِي، لِأَنَّنِي ٱخْتَرْتُ وَصَايَاكَ. ١٧٣ 173
Let your hand be ready to help me, for I have chosen your precepts.
ٱشْتَقْتُ إِلَى خَلَاصِكَ يَارَبُّ، وَشَرِيعَتُكَ هِيَ لَذَّتِي. ١٧٤ 174
I have longed for your yishu'ah ·salvation·, Adonai. Your Torah ·Teaching· is my delight.
لِتَحْيَ نَفْسِي وَتُسَبِّحَكَ، وَأَحْكَامُكَ لِتُعِنِّي. ١٧٥ 175
Let my soul live, that I may praise you. Let your judgments help me.
ضَلَلْتُ، كَشَاةٍ ضَالَّةٍ. ٱطْلُبْ عَبْدَكَ، لِأَنِّي لَمْ أَنْسَ وَصَايَاكَ. ١٧٦ 176
I have gone astray like a lost sheep. Seek your servant, for I don’t forget your mitzvot ·instructions·.
