اَلْمَزَامِيرُ 109

١ 1 لِإِمَامِ ٱلْمُغَنِّينَ. لِدَاوُدَ. مَزْمُورٌ يَا إِلَهَ تَسْبِيحِي لَا تَسْكُتْ،

For the end, a Psalm of David. For the end, a Psalm of David. O God, pass not over my praise in silence;

٢ 2 لِأَنَّهُ قَدِ ٱنْفَتَحَ عَلَيَّ فَمُ ٱلشِّرِّيرِ وَفَمُ ٱلْغِشِّ. تَكَلَّمُوا مَعِي بِلِسَانِ كِذْبٍ،

for the mouth of the sinner and the mouth of the crafty [man] have been opened against me: they have spoken against me with a crafty tongue.

٣ 3 بِكَلَامِ بُغْضٍ أَحَاطُوا بِي، وَقَاتَلُونِي بِلَا سَبَبٍ.

And they have compassed me with words of hatred; and fought against me without a cause.

٤ 4 بَدَلَ مَحَبَّتِي يُخَاصِمُونَنِي. أَمَّا أَنَا فَصَلَاةٌ.

Instead of loving me, they falsely accused me: but I continued to pray.

٥ 5 وَضَعُوا عَلَيَّ شَرًّا بَدَلَ خَيْرٍ، وَبُغْضًا بَدَلَ حُبِّي.

And they rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love.

٦ 6 فَأَقِمْ أَنْتَ عَلَيْهِ شِرِّيرًا، وَلْيَقِفْ شَيْطَانٌ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ.

Set thou a sinner against him; and let the devil stand at his right hand.

٧ 7 إِذَا حُوكِمَ فَلْيَخْرُجْ مُذْنِبًا، وَصَلَاتُهُ فَلْتَكُنْ خَطِيَّةً.

When he is judged, let him go forth condemned: and let his prayer become sin.

٨ 8 لِتَكُنْ أَيَّامُهُ قَلِيلَةً، وَوَظِيفَتُهُ لِيَأْخُذْهَا آخَرُ.

Let his days be few: and let another take his office of overseer.

٩ 9 لِيَكُنْ بَنُوهُ أَيْتَامًا وَٱمْرَأَتُهُ أَرْمَلَةً.

Let his children be orphans, and his wife a widow.

١٠ 10 لِيَتِهْ بَنُوهُ تَيَهَانًا وَيَسْتَعْطُوا، وَيَلْتَمِسُوا خُبْزًا مِنْ خِرَبِهِمْ.

Let his children wander without a dwelling-place, and beg: let them be cast out of their habitations.

١١ 11 لِيَصْطَدِ ٱلْمُرَابِي كُلَّ مَا لَهُ، وَلْيَنْهَبِ ٱلْغُرَبَاءُ تَعَبَهُ.

Let [his] creditor exact all that belongs to him: and let strangers spoil his labours.

١٢ 12 لَا يَكُنْ لَهُ بَاسِطٌ رَحْمَةً، وَلَا يَكُنْ مُتَرَأِفٌ عَلَى يَتَامَاهُ.

Let him have no helper; neither let there be any one to have compassion on his fatherless children.

١٣ 13 لِتَنْقَرِضْ ذُرِّيَّتُهُ. فِي ٱلْجِيلِ ٱلْقَادِمِ لِيُمْحَ ٱسْمُهُمْ.

Let his children be [given up] to utter destruction: in one generation let his name be blotted out.

١٤ 14 لِيُذْكَرْ إِثْمُ آبَائِهِ لَدَى ٱلرَّبِّ، وَلَا تُمْحَ خَطِيَّةُ أُمِّهِ.

Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered before the Lord; and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out.

١٥ 15 لِتَكُنْ أَمَامَ ٱلرَّبِّ دَائِمًا، وَلْيَقْرِضْ مِنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ ذِكْرَهُمْ.

Let them be before the Lord continually; and let their memorial be blotted out from the earth.

١٦ 16 مِنْ أَجْلِ أَنَّهُ لَمْ يَذْكُرْ أَنْ يَصْنَعَ رَحْمَةً، بَلْ طَرَدَ إِنْسَانًا مِسْكِينًا وَفَقِيرًا وَٱلْمُنْسَحِقَ ٱلْقَلْبِ لِيُمِيتَهُ.

Because he remembered not to shew mercy, but persecuted the needy and poor man, and [that] to slay him that was pricked in the heart.

١٧ 17 وَأَحَبَّ ٱللَّعْنَةَ فَأَتَتْهُ، وَلَمْ يُسَرَّ بِٱلْبَرَكَةِ فَتَبَاعَدَتْ عَنْهُ.

He loved cursing also, and it shall come upon him; and he took not pleasure in blessing, so it shall be removed far from him.

١٨ 18 وَلَبِسَ ٱللَّعْنَةَ مِثْلَ ثَوْبِهِ، فَدَخَلَتْ كَمِيَاهٍ فِي حَشَاهُ وَكَزَيْتٍ فِي عِظَامِهِ.

Yea, he put on cursing as a garment, and it is come as water into his bowels, and as oil into his bones.

١٩ 19 لِتَكُنْ لَهُ كَثَوْبٍ يَتَعَطَّفُ بِهِ، وَكَمِنْطَقَةٍ يَتَنَطَّقُ بِهَا دَائِمًا.

Let it be to him as a garment which he puts on, and as a girdle with which he girds himself continually.

٢٠ 20 هَذِهِ أُجْرَةُ مُبْغِضِيَّ مِنْ عِنْدِ ٱلرَّبِّ، وَأُجْرَةُ ٱلْمُتَكَلِّمِينَ شَرًّا عَلَى نَفْسِي.

This is the dealing of the Lord with those who falsely accuse me, and of them that speak evil against my soul.

٢١ 21 أَمَّا أَنْتَ يَارَبُّ ٱلسَّيِّدُ فَٱصْنَعْ مَعِي مِنْ أَجْلِ ٱسْمِكَ. لِأَنَّ رَحْمَتَكَ طَيِّبَةٌ نَجِّنِي.

But thou, O Lord, Lord, deal [mercifully] with me, for thy name's sake: for thy mercy is good.

٢٢ 22 فَإِنِّي فَقِيرٌ وَمِسْكِينٌ أَنَا، وَقَلْبِي مَجْرُوحٌ فِي دَاخِلِي.

Deliver me, for I am poor and needy; and my heart is troubled within me.

٢٣ 23 كَظِلٍّ عِنْدَ مَيْلِهِ ذَهَبْتُ. ٱنْتَفَضْتُ كَجَرَادَةٍ.

I am removed as a shadow in its going down: I am tossed up and down like locusts.

٢٤ 24 رُكْبَتَايَ ٱرْتَعَشَتَا مِنَ ٱلصَّوْمِ، وَلَحْمِي هُزِلَ عَنْ سِمَنٍ.

My knees are weakened through fasting, and my flesh is changed by reason of [the want of] oil.

٢٥ 25 وَأَنَا صِرْتُ عَارًا عِنْدَهُمْ. يَنْظُرُونَ إِلَيَّ وَيُنْغِضُونَ رُؤُوسَهُمْ

I became also a reproach to them: [when] they saw me they shook their heads.

٢٦ 26 أَعِنِّي يَارَبُّ إِلَهِي. خَلِّصْنِي حَسَبَ رَحْمَتِكَ.

Help me, O Lord my God; and save me according to thy mercy.

٢٧ 27 وَلْيَعْلَمُوا أَنَّ هَذِهِ هِيَ يَدُكَ. أَنْتَ يَارَبُّ فَعَلْتَ هَذَا.

And let them know that this is thy hand; and [that] thou, Lord, hast wrought it.

٢٨ 28 أَمَّا هُمْ فَيَلْعَنُونَ، وَأَمَّا أَنْتَ فَتُبَارِكُ. قَامُوا وَخَزُوا، أَمَّا عَبْدُكَ فَيَفْرَحُ.

Let them curse, but thou shalt bless: let them that rise up against me be ashamed, but let thy servant rejoice.

٢٩ 29 لِيَلْبِسْ خُصَمَائِي خَجَلًا، وَلْيَتَعَطَّفُوا بِخِزْيِهِمْ كَٱلرِّدَاءِ.

Let those that falsely accuse me be clothed with shame, and let them cover themselves with their shame as with a mantle.

٣٠ 30 أَحْمَدُ ٱلرَّبَّ جِدًّا بِفَمِي، وَفِي وَسَطِ كَثِيرِينَ أُسَبِّحُهُ.

I will give thanks to the Lord abundantly with my mouth; and in the midst of many I will praise him.

٣١ 31 لِأَنَّهُ يَقُومُ عَنْ يَمِينِ ٱلْمَسْكِينِ، لِيُخَلِّصَهُ مِنَ ٱلْقَاضِينَ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ.

For he stood on the right hand of the poor, to save [me] from them that persecute my soul.
