أَمْثَالٌ 31

١ 1 كَلَامُ لَمُوئِيلَ مَلِكِ مَسَّا، عَلَّمَتْهُ إِيَّاهُ أُمُّهُ:

٢ 2 مَاذَا يَا ٱبْنِي؟ ثُمَّ مَاذَا يَا ٱبْنَ رَحِمِي؟ ثُمَّ مَاذَا يَا ٱبْنَ نُذُورِي؟

٣ 3 لَا تُعْطِ حَيْلَكَ لِلنِّسَاءِ، وَلَا طُرُقَكَ لِمُهْلِكَاتِ ٱلْمُلُوكِ.

٤ 4 لَيْسَ لِلْمُلُوكِ يَا لَمُوئِيلُ، لَيْسَ لِلْمُلُوكِ أَنْ يَشْرَبُوا خَمْرًا، وَلَا لِلْعُظَمَاءِ ٱلْمُسْكِرُ.

٥ 5 لِئَلَّا يَشْرَبُوا وَيَنْسَوْا ٱلْمَفْرُوضَ، وَيُغَيِّرُوا حُجَّةَ كُلِّ بَنِي ٱلْمَذَلَّةِ.

٦ 6 أَعْطُوا مُسْكِرًا لِهَالِكٍ، وَخَمْرًا لِمُرِّي ٱلنَّفْسِ.

٧ 7 يَشْرَبُ وَيَنْسَى فَقْرَهُ، وَلَا يَذْكُرُ تَعَبَهُ بَعْدُ.

٨ 8 اِفْتَحْ فَمَكَ لِأَجْلِ ٱلْأَخْرَسِ فِي دَعْوَى كُلِّ يَتِيمٍ.

٩ 9 اِفْتَحْ فَمَكَ. ٱقْضِ بِٱلْعَدْلِ وَحَامِ عَنِ ٱلْفَقِيرِ وَٱلْمِسْكِينِ.

١٠ 10 اِمْرَأَةٌ فَاضِلَةٌ مَنْ يَجِدُهَا؟ لِأَنَّ ثَمَنَهَا يَفُوقُ ٱللَّآلِئَ.

١١ 11 بِهَا يَثِقُ قَلْبُ زَوْجِهَا فَلَا يَحْتَاجُ إِلَى غَنِيمَةٍ.

١٢ 12 تَصْنَعُ لَهُ خَيْرًا لَا شَرًّا كُلَّ أَيَّامِ حَيَاتِهَا.

١٣ 13 تَطْلُبُ صُوفًا وَكَتَّانًا وَتَشْتَغِلُ بِيَدَيْنِ رَاضِيَتَيْنِ.

١٤ 14 هِيَ كَسُفُنِ ٱلتَّاجِرِ. تَجْلِبُ طَعَامَهَا مِنْ بَعِيدٍ.

to be like/as fleet to trade from distance to come (in): bring food her

١٥ 15 وَتَقُومُ إِذِ ٱللَّيْلُ بَعْدُ وَتُعْطِي أَكْلًا لِأَهْلِ بَيْتِهَا وَفَرِيضَةً لِفَتَيَاتِهَا.

and to arise: rise in/on/with still night and to give: give prey to/for house: household her and statute: portion to/for maiden her

١٦ 16 تَتَأَمَّلُ حَقْلًا فَتَأْخُذُهُ، وَبِثَمَرِ يَدَيْهَا تَغْرِسُ كَرْمًا.

to plan land: country and to take: buy him from fruit palm her (to plant *QK) vineyard

١٧ 17 تُنَطِّقُ حَقَوَيْهَا بِٱلْقُوَّةِ وَتُشَدِّدُ ذِرَاعَيْهَا.

to gird in/on/with strength loin her and to strengthen arm her

١٨ 18 تَشْعُرُ أَنَّ تِجَارَتَهَا جَيِّدَةٌ. سِرَاجُهَا لَا يَنْطَفِئُ فِي ٱللَّيْلِ.

to perceive for pleasant profit her not to quench (in/on/with night *Qk) lamp her

١٩ 19 تَمُدُّ يَدَيْهَا إِلَى ٱلْمِغْزَلِ، وَتُمْسِكُ كَفَّاهَا بِٱلْفَلْكَةِ.

hand her to send: reach in/on/with distaff and palm her to grasp district

٢٠ 20 تَبْسُطُ كَفَّيْهَا لِلْفَقِيرِ، وَتَمُدُّ يَدَيْهَا إِلَى ٱلْمِسْكِينِ.

palm her to spread to/for afflicted and hand her to send: reach to/for needy

٢١ 21 لَا تَخْشَى عَلَى بَيْتِهَا مِنَ ٱلثَّلْجِ، لِأَنَّ كُلَّ أَهْلِ بَيْتِهَا لَابِسُونَ حُلَلًا.

not to fear to/for house: household her from snow for all house: household her to clothe scarlet

٢٢ 22 تَعْمَلُ لِنَفْسِهَا مُوَشَّيَاتٍ. لِبْسُهَا بُوصٌ وَأُرْجُوانٌ.

covering to make to/for her linen and purple clothing her

٢٣ 23 زَوْجُهَا مَعْرُوفٌ فِي ٱلْأَبْوَابِ حِينَ يَجْلِسُ بَيْنَ مَشَايخِ ٱلْأَرْضِ.

٢٤ 24 تَصْنَعُ قُمْصَانًا وَتَبِيعُهَا، وَتَعْرِضُ مَنَاطِقَ عَلَى ٱلْكَنْعَانِيِّ.

٢٥ 25 اَلْعِزُّ وَٱلْبَهَاءُ لِبَاسُهَا، وَتَضْحَكُ عَلَى ٱلزَّمَنِ ٱلْآتِي.

strength and glory clothing her and to laugh to/for day last

٢٦ 26 تَفْتَحُ فَمَهَا بِٱلْحِكْمَةِ، وَفِي لِسَانِهَا سُنَّةُ ٱلْمَعْرُوفِ.

lip her to open in/on/with wisdom and instruction kindness upon tongue her

٢٧ 27 تُرَاقِبُ طُرُقَ أَهْلِ بَيْتِهَا، وَلَا تَأْكُلُ خُبْزَ ٱلْكَسَلِ.

٢٨ 28 يَقُومُ أَوْلَادُهَا وَيُطَوِّبُونَهَا. زَوْجُهَا أَيْضًا فَيَمْدَحُهَا:

to arise: rise son: child her and to bless her master: husband her and to boast: praise her

٢٩ 29 «بَنَاتٌ كَثِيرَاتٌ عَمِلْنَ فَضْلًا، أَمَّا أَنْتِ فَفُقْتِ عَلَيْهِنَّ جَمِيعًا».

٣٠ 30 اَلْحُسْنُ غِشٌّ وَٱلْجَمَالُ بَاطِلٌ، أَمَّا ٱلْمَرْأَةُ ٱلْمُتَّقِيَةُ ٱلرَّبَّ فَهِيَ تُمْدَحُ.

٣١ 31 أَعْطُوهَا مِنْ ثَمَرِ يَدَيْهَا، وَلْتَمْدَحْهَا أَعْمَالُهَا فِي ٱلْأَبْوَابِ.
