< أَمْثَالٌ 26 >

كَٱلثَّلْجِ فِي ٱلصَّيْفِ وَكَالْمَطَرِ فِي ٱلْحَصَادِ، هَكَذَا ٱلْكَرَامَةُ غَيْرُ لَائِقَةٍ بِٱلْجَاهِلِ. ١ 1
Like snow - in the summer and like rain at the harvest so not [is] suitable for a fool honor.
كَٱلْعُصْفُورِ لِلْفَرَارِ وَكَالسُّنُونَةِ لِلطَّيَرَانِ، كَذَلِكَ لَعْنَةٌ بِلَا سَبَبٍ لَا تَأْتِي. ٢ 2
Like bird for fluttering like swallow for flying so a curse without cause (to him *QK) it will come.
اَلسَّوْطُ لِلْفَرَسِ وَٱللِّجَامُ لِلْحِمَارِ، وَٱلْعَصَا لِظَهْرِ ٱلْجُهَّالِ. ٣ 3
A whip for horse a bridle for a donkey and a rod for [the] back of fools.
لَا تُجَاوِبِ ٱلْجَاهِلَ حَسَبَ حَمَاقَتِهِ لِئَلَّا تَعْدِلَهُ أَنْتَ. ٤ 4
May not you answer a fool according to foolishness his lest you should become like him also you.
جَاوِبِ ٱلْجَاهِلَ حَسَبَ حَمَاقَتِهِ لِئَلَّا يَكُونَ حَكِيمًا فِي عَيْنَيْ نَفْسِهِ. ٥ 5
Answer a fool according to foolishness his lest he should be wise in own eyes his.
يَقْطَعُ ٱلرِّجْلَيْنِ، يَشْرَبُ ظُلْمًا، مَنْ يُرْسِلُ كَلَامًا عَنْ يَدِ جَاهِلٍ. ٦ 6
[one who] cuts off Feet violence [one who] drinks [one who] sends words by [the] hand of a fool.
سَاقَا ٱلْأَعْرَجِ مُتَدَلْدِلَتَانِ، وَكَذَا ٱلْمَثَلُ فِي فَمِ ٱلْجُهَّالِ. ٧ 7
They hang down legs from a lame [person] and a proverb in [the] mouth of fools.
كَصُرَّةِ حِجَارَةٍ كَرِيمَةٍ فِي رُجْمَةٍ، هَكَذَا ٱلْمُعْطِي كَرَامَةً لِلْجَاهِلِ. ٨ 8
As ties a stone in a sling so [one who] gives to a fool honor.
شَوْكٌ مُرْتَفِعٌ بِيَدِ سَكْرَانٍ، مِثْلُ ٱلْمَثَلِ فِي فَمِ ٱلْجُهَّالِ. ٩ 9
Thorn[s] it goes up in [the] hand of a drunkard and a proverb in [the] mouth of fools.
رَامٍ يَطْعَنُ ٱلْكُلَّ، هَكَذَا مَنْ يَسْتَأْجِرُ ٱلْجَاهِلَ أَوْ يَسْتَأْجِرُ ٱلْمُحْتَالِينَ. ١٠ 10
An archer [who] wounds everyone and [one who] hires a fool and [one who] hires [those who] pass by.
كَمَا يَعُودُ ٱلْكَلْبُ إِلَى قَيْئِهِ، هَكَذَا ٱلْجَاهِلُ يُعِيدُ حَمَاقَتَهُ. ١١ 11
Like a dog [which] returns to own vomit its a fool [who] repeats foolishness his.
أَرَأَيْتَ رَجُلًا حَكِيمًا فِي عَيْنَيْ نَفْسِهِ؟ ٱلرَّجَاءُ بِٱلْجَاهِلِ أَكْثَرُ مِنَ ٱلرَّجَاءِ بِهِ. ١٢ 12
You see a person wise in own eyes his hope [belongs] to a fool more than him.
قَالَ ٱلْكَسْلَانُ: «ٱلْأَسَدُ فِي ٱلطَّرِيقِ، ٱلشِّبْلُ فِي ٱلشَّوَارِعِ!». ١٣ 13
He says a sluggard a lion [is] in the road a lion [is] between the open places.
اَلْبَابُ يَدُورُ عَلَى صَائِرِهِ، وَٱلْكَسْلَانُ عَلَى فِرَاشِهِ. ١٤ 14
The door it turns on hinge[s] its and a sluggard on bed his.
اَلْكَسْلَانُ يُخْفِي يَدَهُ فِي ٱلصَّحْفَةِ، وَيَشُقُّ عَلَيْهِ أَنْ يَرُدَّهَا إِلَى فَمِهِ. ١٥ 15
He hides a sluggard hand his in the dish he is weary to bring back it to mouth his.
اَلْكَسْلَانُ أَوْفَرُ حِكْمَةً فِي عَيْنَيْ نَفْسِهِ مِنَ ٱلسَّبْعَةِ ٱلْمُجِيبِينَ بِعَقْلٍ. ١٦ 16
[is] wise A sluggard in own eyes his more than seven [people] [who] bring back discernment.
كَمُمْسِكٍ أُذُنَيْ كَلْبٍ، هَكَذَا مَنْ يَعْبُرُ وَيَتَعَرَّضُ لِمُشَاجَرَةٍ لَا تَعْنِيهِ. ١٧ 17
[one who] takes hold On [the] ears of a dog a passer by [who] becomes angry on a dispute [which] not [belongs] to him.
مِثْلُ ٱلْمَجْنُونِ ٱلَّذِي يَرْمِي نَارًا وَسِهَامًا وَمَوْتًا، ١٨ 18
Like a madman who throws burning arrows arrows and death.
هَكَذَا ٱلرَّجُلُ ٱلْخَادِعُ قَرِيبَهُ وَيَقُولُ: «أَلَمْ أَلْعَبْ أَنَا!». ١٩ 19
So a person [who] he deceives neighbor his and he says ¿ not jesting [was] I.
بِعَدَمِ ٱلْحَطَبِ تَنْطَفِئُ ٱلنَّارُ، وَحَيْثُ لَا نَمَّامَ يَهْدَأُ ٱلْخِصَامُ. ٢٠ 20
With not wood it is extinguished a fire and with not a slanderer it becomes quiet strife.
فَحْمٌ لِلْجَمْرِ وَحَطَبٌ لِلنَّارِ، هَكَذَا ٱلرَّجُلُ ٱلْمُخَاصِمُ لِتَهْيِيجِ ٱلنِّزَاعِ. ٢١ 21
Charcoal to burning coals and wood to fire and a person of (contentions *QK) to kindling strife.
كَلَامُ ٱلنَّمَّامِ مِثْلُ لُقَمٍ حُلْوَةٍ فَيَنْزِلُ إِلَى مَخَادِعِ ٱلْبَطْنِ. ٢٢ 22
[the] words of A slanderer [are] like delicacies and they they go down [the] chambers of [the] belly.
فِضَّةُ زَغَلٍ تُغَشِّي شَقْفَةً، هَكَذَا ٱلشَّفَتَانِ ٱلْمُتَوَقِّدَتَانِ وَٱلْقَلْبُ ٱلشِّرِّيرُ. ٢٣ 23
Silver of dross overlaid on earthenware lips burning and a heart of evil.
بِشَفَتَيْهِ يَتَنَكَّرُ ٱلْمُبْغِضُ، وَفِي جَوْفِهِ يَضَعُ غِشًّا. ٢٤ 24
(With lips his *QK) he disguises himself [one who] hates and in inner being his he puts deceit.
إِذَا حَسَّنَ صَوْتَهُ فَلَا تَأْتَمِنْهُ، لِأَنَّ فِي قَلْبِهِ سَبْعَ رَجَاسَاتٍ. ٢٥ 25
If he will make favorable voice his may not you trust in him for seven abominations [are] in heart his.
مَنْ يُغَطِّي بُغْضَةً بِمَكْرٍ، يَكْشِفُ خُبْثَهُ بَيْنَ ٱلْجَمَاعَةِ. ٢٦ 26
It covers itself hatred with deception it will be revealed wickedness his in [the] assembly.
مَنْ يَحْفِرُ حُفْرَةً يَسْقُطُ فِيهَا، وَمَنْ يُدَحْرِجُ حَجَرًا يَرْجِعُ عَلَيْهِ. ٢٧ 27
[one who] digs A pit in it he will fall and [one who] rolls a stone to him it will return.
اَللِّسَانُ ٱلْكَاذِبُ يُبْغِضُ مُنْسَحِقِيهِ، وَٱلْفَمُ ٱلْمَلِقُ يُعِدُّ خَرَابًا. ٢٨ 28
A tongue of falsehood it hates crushed [people] its and a mouth flattering it makes stumbling.
