أَمْثَالٌ 21

١ 1 قَلْبُ ٱلْمَلِكِ فِي يَدِ ٱلرَّبِّ كَجَدَاوِلِ مِيَاهٍ، حَيْثُمَا شَاءَ يُمِيلُهُ.

[is] streams of Water [the] heart of a king in [the] hand of Yahweh to all that he desires he turns it.

٢ 2 كُلُّ طُرُقِ ٱلْإِنْسَانِ مُسْتَقِيمَةٌ فِي عَيْنَيْهِ، وَٱلرَّبُّ وَازِنُ ٱلْقُلُوبِ.

Every way of a person [is] upright in own eyes his and [is] weighing hearts Yahweh.

٣ 3 فِعْلُ ٱلْعَدْلِ وَٱلْحَقِّ أَفْضَلُ عِنْدَ ٱلرَّبِّ مِنَ ٱلذَّبِيحَةِ.

To do righteousness and justice [is] chosen by Yahweh more than sacrifice.

٤ 4 طُمُوحُ ٱلْعَيْنَيْنِ وَٱنْتِفَاخُ ٱلْقَلْبِ، نُورُ ٱلْأَشْرَارِ خَطِيَّةٌ.

Haughtiness of eyes and a [person] arrogant of heart [the] lamp of wicked [people] [is] sin.

٥ 5 أَفْكَارُ ٱلْمُجْتَهِدِ إِنَّمَا هِيَ لِلْخِصْبِ، وَكُلُّ عَجُولٍ إِنَّمَا هُوَ لِلْعَوَزِ.

[the] plans of A diligent [person] only to advantage and every hasty [person] only to poverty.

٦ 6 جَمْعُ ٱلْكُنُوزِ بِلِسَانٍ كَاذِبٍ، هُوَ بُخَارٌ مَطْرُودٌ لِطَالِبِي ٱلْمَوْتِ.

[the] acquisition of Treasures by a tongue of falsehood [is] a breath driven about seekers of death.

٧ 7 اِغْتِصَابُ ٱلْأَشْرَارِ يَجْرُفُهُمْ، لِأَنَّهُمْ أَبَوْا إِجْرَاءَ ٱلْعَدْلِ.

[the] violence of Wicked [people] it will drag away them for they refuse to do justice.

٨ 8 طَرِيقُ رَجُلٍ مَوْزُورٍ هِيَ مُلْتَوِيَةٌ، أَمَّا ٱلزَّكِيُّ فَعَمَلُهُ مُسْتَقِيمٌ.

[is] crooked [the] way of A person guilty and a pure [person] [is] upright work his.

٩ 9 اَلسُّكْنَى فِي زَاوِيَةِ ٱلسَّطْحِ، خَيْرٌ مِنِ ٱمْرَأَةٍ مُخَاصِمَةٍ وَبَيْتٍ مُشْتَرِكٍ.

[is] good To dwell on a corner of a roof more than a woman of contentions and a house of association.

١٠ 10 نَفْسُ ٱلشِّرِّيرِ تَشْتَهِي ٱلشَّرَّ. قَرِيبُهُ لَا يَجِدُ نِعْمَةً فِي عَيْنَيْهِ.

[the] appetite of A wicked [person] it craves evil not he is shown favor in eyes his neighbor his.

١١ 11 بِمُعَاقَبَةِ ٱلْمُسْتَهْزِئِ يَصِيرُ ٱلْأَحْمَقُ حَكِيمًا، وَٱلْحَكِيمُ بِٱلْإِرْشَادِ يَقْبَلُ مَعْرِفَةً.

When punish a mocker he becomes wise a naive person and when instruct a wise [person] he receives knowledge.

١٢ 12 اَلْبَارُّ يَتَأَمَّلُ بَيْتَ ٱلشِّرِّيرِ وَيَقْلِبُ ٱلْأَشْرَارَ فِي ٱلشَّرِّ.

[is] giving attention [the] righteous [one] To [the] house of a wicked [person] [he is] subverting wicked [people] to calamity.

١٣ 13 مَنْ يَسُدُّ أُذُنَيْهِ عَنْ صُرَاخِ ٱلْمِسْكِينِ، فَهُوَ أَيْضًا يَصْرُخُ وَلَا يُسْتَجَابُ.

[one who] shuts Ear his from [the] cry of [the] poor also he he will call out and not he will be answered.

١٤ 14 اَلْهَدِيَّةُ فِي ٱلْخَفَاءِ تَفْثَأُ ٱلْغَضَبَ، وَٱلرَّشْوَةُ فِي ٱلْحِضْنِ تَفْثَأُ ٱلسَّخَطَ ٱلشَّدِيدَ.

A gift in secrecy it subdues anger and a bribe in the bosom rage strong.

١٥ 15 إِجْرَاءُ ٱلْحَقِّ فَرَحٌ لِلصِّدِّيقِ، وَٱلْهَلَاكُ لِفَاعِلِي ٱلْإِثْمِ.

[is] a joy To the righteous [person] to do justice and terror to [those who] do wickedness.

١٦ 16 اَلرَّجُلُ ٱلضَّالُّ عَنْ طَرِيقِ ٱلْمَعْرِفَةِ يَسْكُنُ بَيْنَ جَمَاعَةِ ٱلْأَخِيلَةِ.

A person [who] wanders from [the] way of insight in [the] assembly of [the] shades he will rest.

١٧ 17 مُحِبُّ ٱلْفَرَحِ إِنْسَانٌ مُعْوِزٌ. مُحِبُّ ٱلْخَمْرِ وَٱلدُّهْنِ لَا يَسْتَغْنِي.

[will be] a person of Poverty [one who] loves pleasure [one who] loves wine and oil not he will gain riches.

١٨ 18 اَلشِّرِّيرُ فِدْيَةُ ٱلصِّدِّيقِ، وَمَكَانَ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمِينَ ٱلْغَادِرُ.

[is] a ransom For the righteous [person] a wicked [person] and in place of upright [people] [one who] acts treacherously.

١٩ 19 اَلسُّكْنَى فِي أَرْضٍ بَرِّيَّةٍ خَيْرٌ مِنِ ٱمْرَأَةٍ مُخَاصِمَةٍ حَرِدَةٍ.

[is] good To dwell in a land of wilderness more than a woman of (contentions *QK) and anger.

٢٠ 20 كَنْزٌ مُشْتَهًى وَزَيْتٌ فِي بَيْتِ ٱلْحَكِيمِ، أَمَّا ٱلرَّجُلُ ٱلْجَاهِلُ فَيُتْلِفُهُ.

Treasure - desirable and oil [are] in [the] habitation of a wise [person] and a fool a person he swallows up it.

٢١ 21 اَلتَّابِعُ ٱلْعَدْلَ وَٱلرَّحْمَةَ يَجِدُ حَيَاةً، حَظًّا وَكَرَامَةً.

[one who] pursues Righteousness and loyalty he finds life righteousness and honor.

٢٢ 22 اَلْحَكِيمُ يَتَسَوَّرُ مَدِينَةَ ٱلْجَبَابِرَةِ، وَيُسْقِطُ قُوَّةَ مُعْتَمَدِهَا.

A city of warriors he goes up a wise [person] and he brought down [the] strength of trust its.

٢٣ 23 مَنْ يَحْفَظُ فَمَهُ وَلِسَانَهُ، يَحْفَظُ مِنَ ٱلضِّيقَاتِ نَفْسَهُ.

[one who] guards Mouth his and tongue his [is] keeping from troubles self his.

٢٤ 24 اَلْمُنْتَفِخُ ٱلْمُتَكَبِّرُ ٱسْمُهُ «مُسْتَهْزِئٌ»، عَامِلٌ بِفَيَضَانِ ٱلْكِبْرِيَاءِ.

Proud arrogant [is] mocker name his [one who] acts in [the] overflowing of pride.

٢٥ 25 شَهْوَةُ ٱلْكَسْلَانِ تَقْتُلُهُ، لِأَنَّ يَدَيْهِ تَأْبَيَانِ ٱلشُّغْلَ.

[the] desire of A sluggard it kills him for they refuse hands his to work.

٢٦ 26 اَلْيَوْمَ كُلَّهُ يَشْتَهِي شَهْوَةً، أَمَّا ٱلصِّدِّيقُ فَيُعْطِي وَلَا يُمْسِكُ.

All the day he craves a craving and a righteous [person] he gives and not he keeps back.

٢٧ 27 ذَبِيحَةُ ٱلشِّرِّيرِ مَكْرَهَةٌ، فَكَمْ بِٱلْحَرِيِّ حِينَ يُقَدِّمُهَا بِغِشٍّ!

[the] sacrifice of Wicked [people] [is] an abomination indeed? if in wickedness he brings it.

٢٨ 28 شَاهِدُ ٱلزُّورِ يَهْلِكُ، وَٱلرَّجُلُ ٱلسَّامِعُ لِلْحَقِّ يَتَكَلَّمُ.

A witness of lies he will perish and a person [who] listens to perpetuity he will speak.

٢٩ 29 اَلشِّرِّيرُ يُوقِحُ وَجْهَهُ، أَمَّا ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمُ فَيُثَبِّتُ طُرُقَهُ.

He makes strong a person wicked with face his and an upright [person] he - (he considers way his. *QK)

٣٠ 30 لَيْسَ حِكْمَةٌ وَلَا فِطْنَةٌ وَلَا مَشُورَةٌ تُجَاهَ ٱلرَّبِّ.

There not [is] wisdom and there not [is] understanding and there not [is] counsel to before Yahweh.

٣١ 31 اَلْفَرَسُ مُعَدٌّ لِيَوْمِ ٱلْحَرْبِ، أَمَّا ٱلنُّصْرَةُ فَمِنَ ٱلرَّبِّ.

A horse [is] prepared for a day of battle and [belongs] to Yahweh the victory.
