أَيُّوبَ 41

١ 1 «أَتَصْطَادُ لَوِيَاثَانَ بِشِصٍّ، أَوْ تَضْغَطُ لِسَانَهُ بِحَبْلٍ؟

٢ 2 أَتَضَعُ أَسَلَةً فِي خَطْمِهِ، أَمْ تَثْقُبُ فَكَّهُ بِخِزَامَةٍ؟

to set: put bulrush in/on/with face: nose his and in/on/with thistle to pierce jaw his

٣ 3 أَيُكْثِرُ ٱلتَّضَرُّعَاتِ إِلَيْكَ، أَمْ يَتَكَلَّمُ مَعَكَ بِٱللِّينِ؟

to multiply to(wards) you supplication if: surely yes to speak: speak to(wards) you tender

٤ 4 هَلْ يَقْطَعُ مَعَكَ عَهْدًا فَتَتَّخِذَهُ عَبْدًا مُؤَبَّدًا؟

to cut: make(covenant) covenant with you to take: take him to/for servant/slave forever: enduring

٥ 5 أَتَلْعَبُ مَعَهُ كَٱلْعُصْفُورِ، أَوْ تَرْبِطُهُ لِأَجْلِ فَتَيَاتِكَ؟

to laugh in/on/with him like/as bird and to conspire him to/for maiden your

٦ 6 هَلْ تَحْفِرُ جَمَاعَةُ ٱلصَّيَّادِينَ لِأَجْلِهِ حُفْرَةً، أَوْ يَقْسِمُونَهُ بَيْنَ ٱلْكَنْعَانِيِّينَ؟

to trade upon him associate to divide him between: among merchant

٧ 7 أَتَمْلَأُ جِلْدَهُ حِرَابًا وَرَأْسَهُ بِإِلَالِ ٱلسَّمَكِ؟

٨ 8 ضَعْ يَدَكَ عَلَيْهِ. لَا تَعُدْ تَذْكُرُ ٱلْقِتَالَ!

٩ 9 هُوَذَا ٱلرَّجَاءُ بِهِ كَاذِبٌ. أَلَا يُكَبُّ أَيْضًا بِرُؤْيَتِهِ؟

١٠ 10 لَيْسَ مِنْ شُجَاعٍ يُوقِظُهُ، فَمَنْ يَقِفُ إِذًا بِوَجْهِي؟

١١ 11 مَنْ تَقَدَّمَنِي فَأُوفِيَهُ؟ مَا تَحْتَ كُلِّ ٱلسَّمَاوَاتِ هُوَ لِي.

١٢ 12 «لَا أَسْكُتُ عَنْ أَعْضَائِهِ، وَخَبَرِ قُوَّتِهِ وَبَهْجَةِ عُدَّتِهِ.

١٣ 13 مَنْ يَكْشِفُ وَجْهَ لِبْسِهِ، وَمَنْ يَدْنُو مِنْ مَثْنَى لَجَمَتِهِ؟

١٤ 14 مَنْ يَفْتَحُ مِصْرَاعَيْ فَمِهِ؟ دَائِرَةُ أَسْنَانِهِ مُرْعِبَةٌ.

١٥ 15 فَخْرُهُ مَجَانُّ مَانِعَةٌ مُحَكَّمَةٌ مَضْغُوطَةٌ بِخَاتِمٍ.

١٦ 16 ٱلْوَاحِدُ يَمَسُّ ٱلْآخَرَ، فَٱلرِّيحُ لَا تَدْخُلُ بَيْنَهَا.

١٧ 17 كُلٌّ مِنْهَا مُلْتَصِقٌ بِصَاحِبِهِ، مُتَلَكِّدَةً لَا تَنْفَصِلُ.

١٨ 18 عُطَاسُهُ يَبْعَثُ نُورًا، وَعَيْنَاهُ كَهُدُبِ ٱلصُّبْحِ.

١٩ 19 مِنْ فِيهِ تَخْرُجُ مَصَابِيحُ. شَرَارُ نَارٍ تَتَطَايَرُ مِنْهُ.

from lip his torch to go: went spark fire to escape

٢٠ 20 مِنْ مَنْخَرَيْهِ يَخْرُجُ دُخَانٌ كَأَنَّهُ مِنْ قِدْرٍ مَنْفُوخٍ أَوْ مِنْ مِرْجَلٍ.

from nostril his to come out: come smoke like/as pot to breathe and bulrush

٢١ 21 نَفَسُهُ يُشْعِلُ جَمْرًا، وَلَهِيبٌ يَخْرُجُ مِنْ فِيهِ.

soul: life his coal to kindle and flame from lip his to come out: come

٢٢ 22 فِي عُنُقِهِ تَبِيتُ ٱلْقُوَّةُ، وَأَمَامَهُ يَدُوسُ ٱلْهَوْلُ.

in/on/with neck his to lodge strength and to/for face: before his to dance dismay

٢٣ 23 مَطَاوِي لَحْمِهِ مُتَلَاصِقَةٌ مَسْبُوكَةٌ عَلَيْهِ لَا تَتَحَرَّكُ.

refuse flesh his to cleave to pour: cast metal upon him not to shake

٢٤ 24 قَلْبُهُ صُلْبٌ كَٱلْحَجَرِ، وَقَاسٍ كَٱلرَّحَى.

heart his to pour: firm like stone and to pour: firm like/as millstone lower

٢٥ 25 عِنْدَ نُهُوضِهِ تَفْزَعُ ٱلْأَقْوِيَاءُ. مِنَ ٱلْمَخَاوِفِ يَتِيهُونَ.

٢٦ 26 سَيْفُ ٱلَّذِي يَلْحَقُهُ لَا يَقُومُ، وَلَا رُمْحٌ وَلَا مِزْرَاقٌ وَلَا دِرْعٌ.

٢٧ 27 يَحْسِبُ ٱلْحَدِيدَ كَٱلتِّبْنِ، وَٱلنُّحَاسَ كَٱلْعُودِ ٱلنَّخِرِ.

٢٨ 28 لَا يَسْتَفِزُّهُ نُبْلُ ٱلْقَوْسِ. حِجَارَةُ ٱلْمِقْلَاعِ تَرْجِعُ عَنْهُ كَٱلْقَشِّ.

٢٩ 29 يَحْسَبُ ٱلْمِقْمَعَةَ كَقَشٍّ، وَيَضْحَكُ عَلَى ٱهْتِزَازِ ٱلرُّمْحِ.

٣٠ 30 تَحْتَهُ قُطَعُ خَزَفٍ حَادَّةٌ. يُمَدِّدُ نَوْرَجًا عَلَى ٱلطِّينِ.

٣١ 31 يَجْعَلُ ٱلْعُمْقَ يَغْلِي كَٱلْقِدْرِ، وَيَجْعَلُ ٱلْبَحْرَ كَقِدْرِ عِطَارَةٍ.

٣٢ 32 يُضِيءُ ٱلسَّبِيلُ وَرَاءَهُ فَيُحْسَبُ ٱللُّجُّ أَشْيَبَ.

٣٣ 33 لَيْسَ لَهُ فِي ٱلْأَرْضِ نَظِيرٌ. صُنِعَ لِعَدَمِ ٱلْخَوْفِ.

٣٤ 34 يُشْرِفُ عَلَى كُلِّ مُتَعَالٍ. هُوَ مَلِكٌ عَلَى كُلِّ بَنِي ٱلْكِبْرِيَاءِ».
