أَيُّوبَ 4

١ 1 فَأجَابَ أَلِيفَازُ ٱلتَّيمَانِيُّ وَقَالَ:

and to answer Eliphaz [the] Temanite and to say

٢ 2 «إِنِ ٱمْتَحَنَ أَحَدٌ كَلِمَةً مَعَكَ، فَهَلْ تَسْتَاءُ؟ وَلَكِنْ مَنْ يَسْتَطِيعُ ٱلِٱمْتِنَاعَ عَنِ ٱلْكَلَامِ؟

to test: try word to(wards) you be weary and to restrain in/on/with speech who? be able

٣ 3 هَا أَنْتَ قَدْ أَرْشَدْتَ كَثِيرِينَ، وَشَدَّدْتَ أَيَادِيَ مُرْتَخِيَةً.

behold to discipline many and hand weak to strengthen: strengthen

٤ 4 قَدْ أَقَامَ كَلَامُكَ ٱلْعَاثِرَ، وَثَبَّتَّ ٱلرُّكَبَ ٱلْمُرْتَعِشَةَ!

to stumble to arise: establish [emph?] speech your and knee to bow to strengthen

٥ 5 وَٱلْآنَ إِذْ جَاءَ عَلَيْكَ ضَجِرْتَ، إِذْ مَسَّكَ ٱرْتَعْتَ.

for now to come (in): come to(wards) you and be weary to touch till you and to dismay

٦ 6 أَلَيْسَتْ تَقْوَاكَ هِيَ مُعْتَمَدَكَ، وَرَجَاؤُكَ كَمَالَ طُرُقِكَ؟

not fear your confidence your hope your and integrity way: conduct your

٧ 7 اُذْكُرْ: مَنْ هَلَكَ وَهُوَ بَرِيءٌ، وَأَيْنَ أُبِيدَ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمُونَ؟

to remember please who? he/she/it innocent to perish and where? upright to hide

٨ 8 كَمَا قَدْ رَأَيْتَ: أَنَّ ٱلْحَارِثِينَ إِثْمًا، وَٱلزَّارِعِينَ شَقَاوَةً يَحْصُدُونَهَا.

like/as as which to see: see to plow/plot evil: wickedness and to sow trouble to reap him

٩ 9 بِنَسَمَةِ ٱللهِ يَبِيدُونَ، وَبِرِيحِ أَنْفِهِ يَفْنَوْنَ.

from breath god to perish and from spirit: breath face: anger his to end: destroy

١٠ 10 زَمْجَرَةُ ٱلْأَسَدِ وَصَوْتُ ٱلزَّئِيرِ وَأَنْيَابُ ٱلْأَشْبَالِ تَكَسَّرَتْ.

roaring lion and voice lion and tooth lion to break

١١ 11 اَللَّيْثُ هَالِكٌ لِعَدَمِ ٱلْفَرِيسَةِ، وَأَشْبَالُ ٱللَّبْوَةِ تَبَدَّدَتْ.

lion to perish from without prey and son: young animal lion to separate

١٢ 12 «ثُمَّ إِلَيَّ تَسَلَّلَتْ كَلِمَةٌ، فَقَبِلَتْ أُذُنِي مِنْهَا رِكْزًا.

and to(wards) me word to steal and to take: recieve ear my whisper from him

١٣ 13 فِي ٱلْهَوَاجِسِ مِنْ رُؤَى ٱللَّيْلِ، عِنْدَ وُقُوعِ سُبَاتٍ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ،

in/on/with disquietings from vision night in/on/with to fall: fall deep sleep upon human

١٤ 14 أَصَابَنِي رُعْبٌ وَرِعْدَةٌ، فَرَجَفَتْ كُلَّ عِظَامِي.

dread to encounter: toward me and trembling and abundance bone my to dread

١٥ 15 فَمَرَّتْ رُوحٌ عَلَى وَجْهِي، ٱقْشَعَرَّ شَعْرُ جَسَدِي.

and spirit upon face my to pass to bristle up hair flesh my

١٦ 16 وَقَفَتْ وَلَكِنِّي لَمْ أَعْرِفْ مَنْظَرَهَا، شِبْهٌ قُدَّامَ عَيْنَيَّ. سَمِعْتُ صَوْتًا مُنْخَفِضًا:

to stand: stand and not to recognize appearance his likeness to/for before eye my silence and voice to hear: hear

١٧ 17 أَٱلْإِنْسَانُ أَبَرُّ مِنَ ٱللهِ؟ أَمِ ٱلرَّجُلُ أَطْهَرُ مِنْ خَالِقِهِ؟

human from god to justify if: surely no from to make him be pure great man

١٨ 18 هُوَذَا عَبِيدُهُ لَا يَأْتَمِنُهُمْ، وَإِلَى مَلَائِكَتِهِ يَنْسِبُ حَمَاقَةً،

look! in/on/with servant/slave his not be faithful and in/on/with messenger: angel his to set: make error

١٩ 19 فَكَمْ بِٱلْحَرِيِّ سُكَّانُ بُيُوتٍ مِنْ طِينٍ، ٱلَّذِينَ أَسَاسُهُمْ فِي ٱلتُّرَابِ، وَيُسْحَقُونَ مِثْلَ ٱلْعُثِّ؟

also to dwell house: home clay which in/on/with dust foundation their to crush them to/for face: before moth

٢٠ 20 بَيْنَ ٱلصَّبَاحِ وَٱلْمَسَاءِ يُحَطَّمُونَ. بِدُونِ مُنْتَبِهٍ إِلَيْهِمْ إِلَى ٱلْأَبَدِ يَبِيدُونَ.

from morning to/for evening to crush from without to set: consider to/for perpetuity to perish

٢١ 21 أَمَا ٱنْتُزِعَتْ مِنْهُمْ طُنُبُهُمْ؟ يَمُوتُونَ بِلَا حِكْمَةٍ.

not to set out cord their in/on/with them to die and not in/on/with wisdom
