أَيُّوبَ 21

١ 1 فَأَجَابَ أَيُّوبُ وَقَالَ:

But Job answered and said,

٢ 2 «اِسْمَعُوا قَوْلِي سَمْعًا، وَلْيَكُنْ هَذَا تَعْزِيَتَكُمْ.

Hear you, hear you my words, that I may not have this consolation from you.

٣ 3 اِحْتَمِلُونِي وَأَنَا أَتَكَلَّمُ، وَبَعْدَ كَلَامِي ٱسْتَهْزِئُوا.

Raise me, and I will speak; then you shall not laugh me to scorn.

٤ 4 أَمَّا أَنَا فَهَلْ شَكْوَايَ مِنْ إِنْسَانٍ، وَإِنْ كَانَتْ، فَلِمَاذَا لَا تَضِيقُ رُوحِي؟

What! is my reproof of man? and why should I not be angry?

٥ 5 تَفَرَّسُوا فِيَّ وَتَعَجَّبُوا وَضَعُوا ٱلْيَدَ عَلَى ٱلْفَمِ.

Look upon me, and wonder, laying your hand upon your cheek.

٦ 6 «عِنْدَمَا أَتَذَكَّرُ أَرْتَاعُ، وَأَخَذَتْ بَشَرِي رِعْدَةٌ.

For even when I remember, I am alarmed, and pains seize my flesh.

٧ 7 لِمَاذَا تَحْيَا ٱلْأَشْرَارُ وَيَشِيخُونَ، نَعَمْ وَيَتَجَبَّرُونَ قُوَّةً؟

Therefore do the ungodly live, and grow old even in wealth?

٨ 8 نَسْلُهُمْ قَائِمٌ أَمَامَهُمْ مَعَهُمْ، وَذُرِّيَّتُهُمْ فِي أَعْيُنِهِمْ.

Their seed is according to [their] desire, and their children are in [their] sight.

٩ 9 بُيُوتُهُمْ آمِنَةٌ مِنَ ٱلْخَوْفِ، وَلَيْسَ عَلَيْهِمْ عَصَا ٱللهِ.

Their houses are prosperous, neither [have they] any where [cause for] fear, neither is there a scourge from the Lord upon them.

١٠ 10 ثَوْرُهُمْ يُلْقِحُ وَلَا يُخْطِئُ. بَقَرَتُهُمْ تُنْتِجُ وَلَا تُسْقِطُ.

Their cow does not cast her calf, and their [beast] with young is safe, and does not miscarry.

١١ 11 يُسْرِحُونَ مِثْلَ ٱلْغَنَمِ رُضَّعَهُمْ، وَأَطْفَالُهُمْ تَرْقُصُ.

And they remain as an unfailing flock, and their children play before [them], taking up the lute and harp;

١٢ 12 يَحْمِلُونَ ٱلدُّفَّ وَٱلْعُودَ، وَيُطْرِبُونَ بِصَوْتِ ٱلْمِزْمَارِ.

and they rejoice at the voice of a song.

١٣ 13 يَقْضُونَ أَيَّامَهُمْ بِٱلْخَيْرِ. فِي لَحْظَةٍ يَهْبِطُونَ إِلَى ٱلْهَاوِيَةِ. (Sheol h7585)

And they spend their days in wealth, and fall asleep in the rest of the grave. (Sheol h7585)

١٤ 14 فَيَقُولُونَ لِلهِ: ٱبْعُدْ عَنَّا، وَبِمَعْرِفَةِ طُرُقِكَ لَا نُسَرُّ.

Yet [such a man] says to the Lord, Depart from me; I desire not to know your ways.

١٥ 15 مَنْ هُوَ ٱلْقَدِيرُ حَتَّى نَعْبُدَهُ؟ وَمَاذَا نَنْتَفِعُ إِنِ ٱلْتَمَسْنَاهُ؟

What is the Mighty One, that we should serve him? and what profit is there that we should approach him?

١٦ 16 «هُوَذَا لَيْسَ فِي يَدِهِمْ خَيْرُهُمْ. لِتَبْعُدْ عَنِّي مَشُورَةُ ٱلْأَشْرَارِ.

For their good things were in [their] hands, but he regards not the works of the ungodly.

١٧ 17 كَمْ يَنْطَفِئُ سِرَاجُ ٱلْأَشْرَارِ، وَيَأْتِي عَلَيْهِمْ بَوَارُهُمْ؟ أَوْ يَقْسِمُ لَهُمْ أَوْجَاعًا فِي غَضَبِهِ؟

Nevertheless, the lamp of the ungodly also shall be put out, and destruction shall come upon them, and pangs of vengeance shall seize them.

١٨ 18 أَوْ يَكُونُونَ كَٱلتِّبْنِ قُدَّامَ ٱلرِّيحِ، وَكَالْعُصَافَةِ ٱلَّتِي تَسْرِقُهَا ٱلزَّوْبَعَةُ؟

And they shall be as chaff before the wind, or as dust which the storm has taken up.

١٩ 19 ٱللهُ يَخْزِنُ إِثْمَهُ لِبَنِيهِ. لِيُجَازِهِ نَفْسَهُ فَيَعْلَمَ.

Let his substance fail [to supply] his children: [God] shall recompense him, and he shall know it.

٢٠ 20 لِتَنْظُرْ عَيْنَاهُ هَلَاكَهُ، وَمِنْ حُمَةِ ٱلْقَدِيرِ يَشْرَبْ.

Let his eyes see his own destruction, and let him not be saved by the Lord.

٢١ 21 فَمَا هِيَ مَسَرَّتُهُ فِي بَيْتِهِ بَعْدَهُ، وَقَدْ تَعَيَّنَ عَدَدُ شُهُورِهِ؟

For his desire is in his house with him, and the number of his months has been suddenly cut off.

٢٢ 22 «أَٱللهُ يُعَلَّمُ مَعْرِفَةً، وَهُوَ يَقْضِي عَلَى ٱلْعَالِينَ؟

Is it not the Lord who teaches understanding and knowledge? and does not he judge murders?

٢٣ 23 هَذَا يَمُوتُ فِي عَيْنِ كَمَالِهِ. كُلُّهُ مُطْمَئِنٌّ وَسَاكِنٌ.

One shall die in his perfect strength, and wholly at ease and prosperous;

٢٤ 24 أَحْوَاضُهُ مَلآنَةٌ لَبَنًا، وَمُخُّ عِظَامِهِ طَرِيٌّ.

and his inwards are full of fat, and his marrow is diffused [throughout him].

٢٥ 25 وَذَلِكَ يَمُوتُ بِنَفْسٍ مُرَّةٍ وَلَمْ يَذُقْ خَيْرًا.

And another dies in bitterness of soul, not eating any good thing.

٢٦ 26 كِلَاهُمَا يَضْطَجِعَانِ مَعًا فِي ٱلتُّرَابِ وَٱلدُّودُ يَغْشَاهُمَا.

But they lie down in the earth together, and corruption covers them.

٢٧ 27 «هُوَذَا قَدْ عَلِمْتُ أَفْكَارَكُمْ وَٱلنِّيَّاتِ ٱلَّتِي بِهَا تَظْلِمُونَنِي.

So I know you, that you presumptuously attack me:

٢٨ 28 لِأَنَّكُمْ تَقُولُونَ: أَيْنَ بَيْتُ ٱلْعَاتِي؟ وَأَيْنَ خَيْمَةُ مَسَاكِنِ ٱلْأَشْرَارِ؟

so that you will say, Where is the house of the prince? and where is the covering of the tabernacles of the ungodly?

٢٩ 29 أَفَلَمْ تَسْأَلُوا عَابِرِي ٱلسَّبِيلِ، وَلَمْ تَفْطِنُوا لِدَلَائِلِهِمْ؟

Ask those that go by the way, and do not disown their tokens.

٣٠ 30 إِنَّهُ لِيَوْمِ ٱلْبَوَارِ يُمْسَكُ ٱلشِّرِّيرُ. لِيَوْمِ ٱلسَّخَطِ يُقَادُونَ.

For the wicked hastens to the day of destruction: they shall be led away for the day of his vengeance.

٣١ 31 مَنْ يُعْلِنُ طَرِيقَهُ لِوَجْهِهِ؟ وَمَنْ يُجَازِيهِ عَلَى مَا عَمِلَ؟

Who will tell him his way to his face, whereas he has done [it]? who shall recompense him?

٣٢ 32 هُوَ إِلَى ٱلْقُبُورِ يُقَادُ، وَعَلَى ٱلْمَدْفَنِ يُسْهَرُ.

And he has been led away to the tombs, and he has watched over the heaps.

٣٣ 33 حُلْوٌ لَهُ مَدَرُ ٱلْوَادِي. يَزْحَفُ كُلُّ إِنْسَانٍ وَرَاءَهُ، وَقُدَّامَهُ مَا لَا عَدَدَ لَهُ.

The stones of the valley have been sweet to him, and every man shall depart after him, and [there are] innumerable [ones] before him.

٣٤ 34 فَكَيْفَ تُعَزُّونَنِي بَاطِلًا وَأَجْوِبَتُكُمْ بَقِيَتْ خِيَانَةً؟».

How then do you comfort me in vain? whereas I have no rest from your molestation.
