إِرْمِيَا 25

١ 1 اَلْكَلَامُ ٱلَّذِي صَارَ إِلَى إِرْمِيَا عَنْ كُلِّ شَعْبِ يَهُوذَا، فِي ٱلسَّنَةِ ٱلرَّابِعَةِ لِيَهُويَاقِيمَ بْنِ يُوشِيَّا مَلِكِ يَهُوذَا، هِيَ ٱلسَّنَةُ ٱلْأُولَى لِنَبُوخَذْرَاصَّرَ مَلِكِ بَابِلَ،

The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah (the same was the first year of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon),

٢ 2 ٱلَّذِي تَكَلَّمَ بِهِ إِرْمِيَا ٱلنَّبِيُّ عَلَى كُلِّ شَعْبِ يَهُوذَا وَعَلَى كُلِّ سُكَّانِ أُورُشَلِيمَ قَائِلًا:

which Jeremiah the prophet spoke to all the people of Judah, and to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying:

٣ 3 «مِنَ ٱلسَّنَةِ ٱلثَّالِثَةِ عَشَرَةَ لِيُوشِيَّا بْنِ آمُونَ مَلِكِ يَهُوذَا إِلَى هَذَا ٱلْيَوْمِ، هَذِهِ ٱلثَّلَاثِ وَٱلْعِشْرِينَ سَنَةً، صَارَتْ كَلِمَةُ ٱلرَّبِّ إِلَيَّ فَكَلَّمْتُكُمْ مُبَكِّرًا وَمُكَلِّمًا فَلَمْ تَسْمَعُوا.

"From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, even to this day, these twenty-three years, the word of YHWH has come to me, and I have spoken to you, rising up early and speaking; but you have not listened.

٤ 4 وَقَدْ أَرْسَلَ ٱلرَّبُّ إِلَيْكُمْ كُلَّ عَبِيدِهِ ٱلْأَنْبِيَاءِ مُبَكِّرًا وَمُرْسِلًا فَلَمْ تَسْمَعُوا وَلَمْ تُمِيلُوا أُذُنَكُمْ لِلسَّمْعِ،

YHWH has sent to you all his servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them (but you have not listened, nor inclined your ear to hear)

٥ 5 قَائِلِينَ: ٱرْجِعُوا كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ عَنْ طَرِيقِهِ ٱلرَّدِيءِ وَعَنْ شَرِّ أَعْمَالِكُمْ وَٱسْكُنُوا فِي ٱلْأَرْضِ ٱلَّتِي أَعْطَاكُمُ ٱلرَّبُّ إِيَّاهَا وَآبَاءَكُمْ مِنَ ٱلْأَزَلِ وَإِلَى ٱلْأَبَدِ.

saying, 'Return now everyone from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that YHWH has given to you and to your fathers, from of old and even forevermore;

٦ 6 وَلَا تَسْلُكُوا وَرَاءَ آلِهَةٍ أُخْرَى لِتَعْبُدُوهَا وَتَسْجُدُوا لَهَا، وَلَا تَغِيظُونِي بِعَمَلِ أَيْدِيكُمْ فَلَا أُسِيءَ إِلَيْكُمْ.

and do not go after other gods to serve them or worship them, and do not provoke me to anger with the work of your hands; and I will do you no harm.

٧ 7 فَلَمْ تَسْمَعُوا لِي، يَقُولُ ٱلرَّبُّ، لِتَغِيظُونِي بِعَمَلِ أَيْدِيكُمْ شَرًّا لَكُمْ.

Yet you have not listened to me,' says YHWH; 'that you may provoke me to anger with the work of your hands to your own hurt.'

٨ 8 «لِذَلِكَ هَكَذَا قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلْجُنُودِ: مِنْ أَجْلِ أَنَّكُمْ لَمْ تَسْمَعُوا لِكَلَامِي

Therefore thus says YHWH of hosts: 'Because you have not heard my words,

٩ 9 هَأَنَذَا أُرْسِلُ فَآخُذُ كُلَّ عَشَائِرِ ٱلشِّمَالِ، يَقُولُ ٱلرَّبُّ، وَإِلَى نَبُوخَذْرَاصَّرَ عَبْدِي مَلِكِ بَابِلَ، وَآتِي بِهِمْ عَلَى هَذِهِ ٱلْأَرْضِ وَعَلَى كُلِّ سُكَّانِهَا وَعَلَى كُلِّ هَذِهِ ٱلشُّعُوبِ حَوَالَيْهَا، فَأُحَرِّمُهُمْ وَأَجْعَلُهُمْ دَهَشًا وَصَفِيرًا وَخِرَبًا أَبَدِيَّةً.

look, I will send and take all the families of the north,' says YHWH, 'and I will send to Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against its inhabitants, and against all these nations around; and I will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and a hissing, and perpetual desolations.

١٠ 10 وَأُبِيدُ مِنْهُمْ صَوْتَ ٱلطَّرَبِ وَصَوْتَ ٱلْفَرَحِ، صَوْتَ ٱلْعَرِيسِ وَصَوْتَ ٱلْعَرُوسِ، صَوْتَ ٱلْأَرْحِيَةِ وَنُورَ ٱلسِّرَاجِ.

Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the lamp.

١١ 11 وَتَصِيرُ كُلُّ هَذِهِ ٱلْأَرْضِ خَرَابًا وَدَهَشًا، وَتَخْدِمُ هَذِهِ ٱلشُّعُوبُ مَلِكَ بَابِلَ سَبْعِينَ سَنَةً.

This whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.

١٢ 12 «وَيَكُونُ عِنْدَ تَمَامِ ٱلسَّبْعِينَ سَنَةً أَنِّي أُعَاقِبُ مَلِكَ بَابِلَ، وَتِلْكَ ٱلْأُمَّةَ، يَقُولُ ٱلرَّبُّ، عَلَى إِثْمِهِمْ وَأَرْضَ ٱلْكَلْدَانِيِّينَ، وَأَجْعَلُهَا خِرَبًا أَبَدِيَّةً.

It shall happen, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation, says YHWH, for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans; and I will make it desolate forever.

١٣ 13 وَأَجْلِبُ عَلَى تِلْكَ ٱلْأَرْضِ كُلَّ كَلَامِي ٱلَّذِي تَكَلَّمْتُ بِهِ عَلَيْهَا، كُلَّ مَا كُتِبَ فِي هَذَا ٱلسِّفْرِ ٱلَّذِي تَنَبَّأَ بِهِ إِرْمِيَا عَلَى كُلِّ ٱلشُّعُوبِ.

I will bring on that land all my words which I have pronounced against it, even all that is written in this scroll, which Jeremiah has prophesied against all the nations.

١٤ 14 لِأَنَّهُ قَدِ ٱسْتَعْبَدَهُمْ أَيْضًا أُمَمٌ كَثِيرَةٌ وَمُلُوكٌ عِظَامٌ، فَأُجَازِيهِمْ حَسَبَ أَعْمَالِهِمْ وَحَسَبَ عَمَلِ أَيَادِيهِمْ».

For many nations and great kings shall make bondservants of them, even of them; and I will recompense them according to their deeds, and according to the work of their hands.'"

١٥ 15 لِأَنَّهُ هَكَذَا قَالَ لِيَ ٱلرَّبُّ إِلَهُ إِسْرَائِيلَ: «خُذْ كَأْسَ خَمْرِ هَذَا ٱلسَّخَطِ مِنْ يَدِي، وَٱسْقِ جَمِيعَ ٱلشُّعُوبِ ٱلَّذِينَ أُرْسِلُكَ أَنَا إِلَيْهِمْ إِيَّاهَا.

For thus says YHWH, the God of Israel, to me: "Take this cup of the wine of wrath at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send you, to drink it.

١٦ 16 فَيَشْرَبُوا وَيَتَرَنَّحُوا وَيَتَجَنَّنُوا مِنْ أَجْلِ ٱلسَّيْفِ ٱلَّذِي أُرْسِلُهُ أَنَا بَيْنَهُمْ».

They shall drink, and reel back and forth, and be mad, because of the sword that I will send among them."

١٧ 17 فَأَخَذْتُ ٱلْكَأْسَ مِنْ يَدِ ٱلرَّبِّ وَسَقَيْتُ كُلَّ ٱلشُّعُوبِ ٱلَّذِينَ أَرْسَلَنِي ٱلرَّبُّ إِلَيْهِمْ.

Then took I the cup at YHWH's hand, and made all the nations to drink, to whom YHWH had sent me:

١٨ 18 أُورُشَلِيمَ وَمُدُنَ يَهُوذَا وَمُلُوكَهَا وَرُؤَسَاءَهَا، لِجَعْلِهَا خَرَابًا وَدَهَشًا وَصَفِيرًا وَلَعْنَةً كَهَذَا ٱلْيَوْمِ.

Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and its kings, and its officials, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, a hissing, and a curse, as it is this day;

١٩ 19 وَفِرْعَوْنَ مَلِكَ مِصْرَ وَعَبِيدَهُ وَرُؤَسَاءَهُ وَكُلَّ شَعْبِهِ.

Pharaoh king of Egypt, and his servants, and his officials, and all his people;

٢٠ 20 وَكُلَّ ٱللَّفِيفِ، وَكُلَّ مُلُوكِ أَرْضِ عُوصَ، وَكُلَّ مُلُوكِ أَرْضِ فِلِسْطِينَ وَأَشْقَلُونَ وَغَزَّةَ وَعَقْرُونَ وَبَقِيَّةَ أَشْدُودَ،

and all the mixed people, and all the kings of the land of the Uz, and all the kings of the Philistines, and Ashkelon, and Gaza, and Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod;

٢١ 21 وَأَدُومَ وَمُوآبَ وَبَنِي عَمُّونَ،

Edom, and Moab, and the people of Ammon;

٢٢ 22 وَكُلَّ مُلُوكِ صُورَ، وَكُلَّ مُلُوكِ صِيدُونَ، وَمُلُوكِ ٱلْجَزَائِرِ ٱلَّتِي فِي عَبْرِ ٱلْبَحْرِ،

and all the kings of Tyre, and all the kings of Sidon, and the kings of the isle which is beyond the sea;

٢٣ 23 وَدَدَانَ وَتَيْمَاءَ وَبُوزَ، وَكُلَّ مَقْصُوصِي ٱلشَّعْرِ مُسْتَدِيرًا،

Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and all who have the corners of their beard cut off;

٢٤ 24 وَكُلَّ مُلُوكِ ٱلْعَرَبِ، وَكُلَّ مُلُوكِ ٱللَّفِيفِ ٱلسَّاكِنِينَ فِي ٱلْبَرِّيَّةِ،

and all the kings of Arabia, [and all the kings of the mixed people] who dwell in the wilderness;

٢٥ 25 وَكُلَّ مُلُوكِ زِمْرِي، وَكُلَّ مُلُوكِ عِيلَامَ، وَكُلَّ مُلُوكِ مَادِي،

and all the kings of Zimri, and all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of the Medes;

٢٦ 26 وَكُلَّ مُلُوكِ ٱلشِّمَالِ ٱلْقَرِيبِينَ وَٱلْبَعِيدِينَ، كُلَّ وَاحِدٍ مَعَ أَخِيهِ، وَكُلَّ مَمَالِكِ ٱلْأَرْضِ ٱلَّتِي عَلَى وَجْهِ ٱلْأَرْضِ. وَمَلِكُ شِيشَكَ يَشْرَبُ بَعْدَهُمْ.

and all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another; and all the kingdoms of the world, which are on the surface of the earth: and the king of Sheshach shall drink after them.

٢٧ 27 وَتَقُولُ لَهُمْ: «هَكَذَا قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلْجُنُودِ إِلَهُ إِسْرَائِيلَ: ٱشْرَبُوا وَٱسْكَرُوا وَتَقَيَّأُوا وَٱسْقُطُوا وَلَا تَقُومُوا مِنْ أَجْلِ ٱلسَّيْفِ ٱلَّذِي أُرْسِلُهُ أَنَا بَيْنَكُمْ.

"You shall tell them, 'Thus says YHWH of hosts, the God of Israel: "Drink, and be drunk, vomit, fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you."'

٢٨ 28 وَيَكُونُ إِذَا أَبَوْا أَنْ يَأْخُذُوا ٱلْكَأْسَ مِنْ يَدِكَ لِيَشْرَبُوا، أَنَّكَ تَقُولُ لَهُمْ: هَكَذَا قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلْجُنُودِ: تَشْرَبُونَ شُرْبًا.

It shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at your hand to drink, then you shall tell them, 'Thus says YHWH of hosts: "You shall surely drink.

٢٩ 29 لِأَنِّي هَأَنَذَا أَبْتَدِئُ أُسِيءُ إِلَى ٱلْمَدِينَةِ ٱلَّتِي دُعِيَ ٱسْمِي عَلَيْهَا، فَهَلْ تَتَبَرَّأُونَ أَنْتُمْ؟ لَا تَتَبَرَّأُونَ، لِأَنِّي أَنَا أَدْعُو ٱلسَّيْفَ عَلَى كُلِّ سُكَّانِ ٱلْأَرْضِ، يَقُولُ رَبُّ ٱلْجُنُودِ.

For, look, I begin to work evil at the city which is called by my name; and should you be utterly unpunished? You shall not be unpunished; for I will call for a sword on all the inhabitants of the earth,"' says YHWH of hosts.

٣٠ 30 وَأَنْتَ فَتَنَبَّأْ عَلَيْهِمْ بِكُلِّ هَذَا ٱلْكَلَامِ، وَقُلْ لَهُمْ: ٱلرَّبُّ مِنَ ٱلْعَلَاءِ يُزَمْجِرُ، وَمِنْ مَسْكَنِ قُدْسِهِ يُطْلِقُ صَوْتَهُ، يَزْأَرُ زَئِيرًا عَلَى مَسْكَنِهِ، بِهُتَافٍ كَٱلدَّائِسِينَ يَصْرُخُ ضِدَّ كُلِّ سُكَّانِ ٱلْأَرْضِ.

Therefore prophesy you against them all these words, and tell them, 'YHWH will roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation; he will mightily roar against his fold; he will give a shout, as those who tread grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.

٣١ 31 بَلَغَ ٱلضَّجِيجُ إِلَى أَطْرَافِ ٱلْأَرْضِ، لِأَنَّ لِلرَّبِّ خُصُومَةً مَعَ ٱلشُّعُوبِ. هُوَ يُحَاكِمُ كُلَّ ذِي جَسَدٍ. يَدْفَعُ ٱلْأَشْرَارَ لِلسَّيْفِ، يَقُولُ ٱلرَّبُّ.

A noise shall come even to the remotest parts of the earth; for YHWH brings charges against the nations; he will enter into judgment with all flesh: as for the wicked, he will give them to the sword,' says YHWH.

٣٢ 32 هَكَذَا قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلْجُنُودِ: هُوَذَا ٱلشَّرُّ يَخْرُجُ مِنْ أُمَّةٍ إِلَى أُمَّةٍ، وَيَنْهَضُ نَوْءٌ عَظِيمٌ مِنْ أَطْرَافِ ٱلْأَرْضِ.

'Thus says YHWH of hosts, 'Look, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great storm shall be raised up from the uttermost parts of the earth.'

٣٣ 33 وَتَكُونُ قَتْلَى ٱلرَّبِّ فِي ذَلِكَ ٱلْيَوْمِ مِنْ أَقْصَاءِ ٱلْأَرْضِ إِلَى أَقْصَاءِ ٱلْأَرْضِ. لَا يُنْدَبُونَ وَلَا يُضَمُّونَ وَلَا يُدْفَنُونَ. يَكُونُونَ دِمْنَةً عَلَى وَجْهِ ٱلْأَرْضِ».

The slain of YHWH shall be on that day from all areas of the earth. They shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung on the surface of the ground.

٣٤ 34 وَلْوِلُوا أَيُّهَا ٱلرُّعَاةُ وَٱصْرُخُوا، وَتَمَرَّغُوا يَا رُؤَسَاءَ ٱلْغَنَمِ، لِأَنَّ أَيَّامَكُمْ قَدْ كَمَلَتْ لِلذَّبْحِ. وَأُبَدِّدُكُمْ فَتَسْقُطُونَ كَإِنَاءٍ شَهِيٍّ.

Wail, you shepherds, and cry; and wallow in dust, you principal of the flock; for the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions are fully come, and you shall fall like a goodly vessel.

٣٥ 35 وَيَبِيدُ ٱلْمَنَاصُ عَنِ ٱلرُّعَاةِ، وَٱلنَّجَاةُ عَنْ رُؤَسَاءِ ٱلْغَنَمِ.

The shepherds shall have no way to flee, nor the principal of the flock to escape.

٣٦ 36 صَوْتُ صُرَاخِ ٱلرُّعَاةِ، وَوَلْوَلَةِ رُؤَسَاءِ ٱلْغَنَمِ. لِأَنَّ ٱلرَّبَّ قَدْ أَهْلَكَ مَرْعَاهُمْ.

A voice of the cry of the shepherds, and the wailing of the principal of the flock. For YHWH lays waste their pasture.

٣٧ 37 وَبَادَتْ مَرَاعِي ٱلسَّلَامِ مِنْ أَجْلِ حُمُوِّ غَضَبِ ٱلرَّبِّ.

The peaceable folds are brought to silence because of the fierce anger of YHWH.

٣٨ 38 تَرَكَ كَشِبْلٍ عِيصَهُ، لِأَنَّ أَرْضَهُمْ صَارَتْ خَرَابًا مِنْ أَجْلِ ٱلظَّالِمِ وَمِنْ أَجْلِ حُمُوِّ غَضَبِهِ.

He has left his covert, as the lion; for their land has become an astonishment, because of the sword of the oppressor, and because of his fierce anger."
