هُوشَع 12

١ 1 «أَفْرَايِمُ رَاعِي ٱلرِّيحِ، وَتَابِعُ ٱلرِّيحِ ٱلشَّرْقِيَّةِ. كُلَّ يَوْمٍ يُكَثِّرُ ٱلْكَذِبَ وَٱلِٱغْتِصَابَ، وَيَقْطَعُونَ مَعَ أَشُّورَ عَهْدًا، وَٱلزَّيْتُ إِلَى مِصْرَ يُجْلَبُ.

Ephraim feedeth on wind, and followeth after the east wind: he daily multiplieth lies and desolation; and they do make a covenant with the Assyrians, and oil is carried into Egypt.

٢ 2 فَلِلرَّبِّ خِصَامٌ مَعَ يَهُوذَا، وَهُوَ مُزْمِعٌ أَنْ يُعَاقِبَ يَعْقُوبَ بِحَسَبِ طُرُقِهِ. بِحَسَبِ أَفْعَالِهِ يَرُدُّ عَلَيْهِ.

The LORD hath also a controversy with Judah, and will punish Jacob according to his ways; according to his doings will he recompense him.

٣ 3 «فِي ٱلْبَطْنِ قَبَضَ بِعَقِبِ أَخِيهِ، وَبِقُوَّتِهِ جَاهَدَ مَعَ ٱللهِ.

He took his brother by the heel in the womb, and by his strength he had power with God:

٤ 4 جَاهَدَ مَعَ ٱلْمَلَاكِ وَغَلَبَ. بَكَى وَٱسْتَرْحَمَهُ. وَجَدَهُ فِي بَيْتِ إِيلَ وَهُنَاكَ تَكَلَّمَ مَعَنَا.

Yes, he had power over the angel, and prevailed: he wept, and made supplication to him: he found him [in] Beth-el, and there he spoke with us;

٥ 5 وَٱلرَّبُّ إِلَهُ ٱلْجُنُودِ يَهْوَهُ ٱسْمُهُ.

Even the LORD God of hosts; the LORD [is] his memorial.

٦ 6 وَأَنْتَ فَٱرْجِعْ إِلَى إِلَهِكَ. اِحْفَظِ ٱلرَّحْمَةَ وَٱلْحَقَّ، وَٱنْتَظِرْ إِلَهَكَ دَائِمًا.

Therefore turn thou to thy God: keep mercy and judgment, and wait on thy God continually.

٧ 7 «مِثْلُ ٱلْكَنْعَانِيِّ فِي يَدِهِ مَوَازِينُ ٱلْغِشِّ. يُحِبُّ أَنْ يَظْلِمَ.

[He is] a merchant, the balances of deceit [are] in his hand: he loveth to oppress.

٨ 8 فَقَالَ أَفْرَايِمُ: إِنِّي صِرْتُ غَنِيًّا. وَجَدْتُ لِنَفْسِي ثَرْوَةً. جَمِيعُ أَتْعَابِي لَا يَجِدُونَ لِي فِيهَا ذَنْبًا هُوَ خَطِيَّةٌ.

And Ephraim said, Yet I have become rich, I have found for myself substance: [in] all my labors they shall find no iniquity in me that [were] sin.

٩ 9 وَأَنَا ٱلرَّبُّ إِلَهُكَ مِنْ أَرْضِ مِصْرَ حَتَّى أُسْكِنَكَ ٱلْخِيَامَ كَأَيَّامِ ٱلْمَوْسِمِ.

And I [that am] the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt will yet make thee to dwell in tabernacles, as in the days of the solemn feast.

١٠ 10 وَكَلَّمْتُ ٱلْأَنْبِيَاءَ وَكَثَّرْتُ ٱلرُّؤَى، وَبِيَدِ ٱلْأَنْبِيَاءِ مَثَّلْتُ أَمْثَالًا».

I have also spoken by the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and used similitudes by the ministry of the prophets.

١١ 11 إِنَّهُمْ فِي جِلْعَادَ قَدْ صَارُوا إِثْمًا، بُطْلًا لَا غَيْرُ. فِي ٱلْجِلْجَالِ ذَبَحُوا ثِيرَانًا، وَمَذَابِحُهُمْ كَرُجَمٍ فِي أَتْلَامِ ٱلْحَقْلِ.

[Is there] iniquity [in] Gilead? surely they are vanity: they sacrifice bullocks in Gilgal; yes, their altars [are] as heaps in the furrows of the fields.

١٢ 12 وَهَرَبَ يَعْقُوبُ إِلَى صَحْرَاءِ أَرَامَ، وَخَدَمَ إِسْرَائِيلُ لِأَجْلِ ٱمْرَأَةٍ، وَلِأَجْلِ ٱمْرَأَةٍ رَعَى.

And Jacob fled into the country of Syria, and Israel served for a wife, and for a wife he kept [sheep].

١٣ 13 وَبِنَبِيٍّ أَصْعَدَ ٱلرَّبُّ إِسْرَائِيلَ مِنْ مِصْرَ، وَبِنَبِيٍّ حُفِظَ.

And by a prophet the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved.

١٤ 14 أَغَاظَهُ إِسْرَائِيلُ بِمَرَارَةٍ، فَيَتْرُكُ دِمَاءَهُ عَلَيْهِ، وَيَرُدُّ سَيِّدُهُ عَارَهُ عَلَيْهِ.

Ephraim provoked [him] to anger most bitterly: therefore will he leave his blood upon him, and his reproach will his Lord return to him.
