عِبرانِيّين 5

١ 1 لِأَنَّ كُلَّ رَئِيسِ كَهَنَةٍ مَأْخُوذٍ مِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ يُقَامُ لِأَجْلِ ٱلنَّاسِ فِي مَا لِلهِ،لِكَيْ يُقَدِّمَ قَرَابِينَ وَذَبَائِحَ عَنِ ٱلْخَطَايَا،

Now every high priest taken from among men is appointed to act on behalf of men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins,

٢ 2 قَادِرًا أَنْ يَتَرَفَّقَ بِٱلْجُهَّالِ وَٱلضَّالِّينَ، إِذْ هُوَ أَيْضًا مُحَاطٌ بِٱلضَّعْفِ.

being able to deal gently with those who sin in ignorance and go astray, since he himself is also subject to weakness.

٣ 3 وَلِهَذَا ٱلضَّعْفِ يَلْتَزِمُ أَنَّهُ كَمَا يُقَدِّمُ عَنِ ٱلْخَطَايَا لِأَجْلِ ٱلشَّعْبِ هَكَذَا أَيْضًا لِأَجْلِ نَفْسِهِ.

Because of this he must offer sacrifices for his own sins as well, just as he does for the people's.

٤ 4 وَلَا يَأْخُذُ أَحَدٌ هَذِهِ ٱلْوَظِيفَةَ بِنَفْسِهِ، بَلِ ٱلْمَدْعُوُّ مِنَ ٱللهِ، كَمَا هَارُونُ أَيْضًا.

Also, no one receives this honor on his own, but upon being called by God, just like Aaron.

٥ 5 كَذَلِكَ ٱلْمَسِيحُ أَيْضًا لَمْ يُمَجِّدْ نَفْسَهُ لِيَصِيرَ رَئِيسَ كَهَنَةٍ، بَلِ ٱلَّذِي قَالَ لَهُ: «أَنْتَ ٱبْنِي، أَنَا ٱلْيَوْمَ وَلَدْتُكَ».

So also Christ did not exalt Himself to become High Priest, but it was He[F] who said to Him[S], “You are my Son; today I have begotten You.”

٦ 6 كَمَا يَقُولُ أَيْضًا فِي مَوْضِعٍ آخَرَ: «أَنْتَ كَاهِنٌ إِلَى ٱلْأَبَدِ عَلَى رُتْبَةِ مَلْكِي صَادَقَ». (aiōn g165)

Just as He[F] also says in another place, “You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.” (aiōn g165)

٧ 7 ٱلَّذِي - فِي أَيَّامِ جَسَدِهِ- إِذْ قَدَّمَ بِصُرَاخٍ شَدِيدٍ وَدُمُوعٍ طَلِبَاتٍ وَتَضَرُّعَاتٍ لِلْقَادِرِ أَنْ يُخَلِّصَهُ مِنَ ٱلْمَوْتِ، وَسُمِعَ لَهُ مِنْ أَجْلِ تَقْوَاهُ،

He[S], in the days of His flesh, having offered up both prayers and supplications, with a loud cry and tears, to the One who was able to save Him from death, and having been answered because of His godly fear,

٨ 8 مَعَ كَوْنِهِ ٱبْنًا تَعَلَّمَ ٱلطَّاعَةَ مِمَّا تَأَلَّمَ بِهِ.

although being SON, He learned obedience by the things which He suffered.

٩ 9 وَإِذْ كُمِّلَ صَارَ لِجَمِيعِ ٱلَّذِينَ يُطِيعُونَهُ، سَبَبَ خَلَاصٍ أَبَدِيٍّ، (aiōnios g166)

And having been completed He became the Source of eternal salvation for all those obeying Him, (aiōnios g166)

١٠ 10 مَدْعُوًّا مِنَ ٱللهِ رَئِيسَ كَهَنَةٍ عَلَى رُتْبَةِ مَلْكِي صَادَقَ.

having been designated by God as High Priest ‘according to the order of Melchizedek’;

١١ 11 اَلَّذِي مِنْ جِهَتِهِ ٱلْكَلَامُ كَثِيرٌ عِنْدَنَا، وَعَسِرُ ٱلتَّفْسِيرِ لِنَنْطِقَ بِهِ، إِذْ قَدْ صِرْتُمْ مُتَبَاطِئِي ٱلْمَسَامِعِ.

concerning whom we have much to say, but it is hard to explain, since you have become sluggish in hearing.

١٢ 12 لِأَنَّكُمْ -إِذْ كَانَ يَنْبَغِي أَنْ تَكُونُوا مُعَلِّمِينَ لِسَبَبِ طُولِ ٱلزَّمَانِ- تَحْتَاجُونَ أَنْ يُعَلِّمَكُمْ أَحَدٌ مَا هِيَ أَرْكَانُ بَدَاءَةِ أَقْوَالِ ٱللهِ، وَصِرْتُمْ مُحْتَاجِينَ إِلَى ٱللَّبَنِ، لَا إِلَى طَعَامٍ قَوِيٍّ.

Really, because although by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary principles of God's oracles all over again; you have come to the point of needing milk, not solid food!

١٣ 13 لِأَنَّ كُلَّ مَنْ يَتَنَاوَلُ ٱللَّبَنَ هُوَ عَدِيمُ ٱلْخِبْرَةِ فِي كَلَامِ ٱلْبِرِّ لِأَنَّهُ طِفْلٌ،

Surely; whoever lives on milk is an infant, and therefore unskilled in the Word of righteousness.

١٤ 14 وَأَمَّا ٱلطَّعَامُ ٱلْقَوِيُّ فَلِلْبَالِغِينَ، ٱلَّذِينَ بِسَبَبِ ٱلتَّمَرُّنِ قَدْ صَارَتْ لَهُمُ ٱلْحَوَاسُّ مُدَرَّبَةً عَلَى ٱلتَّمْيِيزِ بَيْنَ ٱلْخَيْرِ وَٱلشَّرِّ.

On the other hand, solid food is for the mature, those who by habitual use have trained their senses to distinguish good from bad.
