اَلتَّكْوِينُ 39

١ 1 وَأَمَّا يُوسُفُ فَأُنْزِلَ إِلَى مِصْرَ، وَٱشْتَرَاهُ فُوطِيفَارُ خَصِيُّ فِرْعَوْنَ رَئِيسُ ٱلشُّرَطِ، رَجُلٌ مِصْرِيٌّ، مِنْ يَدِ ٱلْإِسْمَاعِيلِيِّينَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنْزَلُوهُ إِلَى هُنَاكَ.

Ioseph was brought vnto Egipte ad Putiphar a lorde of Pharaos: ad his chefe marshall an Egiptian bought him of ye Ismaelites which brought hi thither

٢ 2 وَكَانَ ٱلرَّبُّ مَعَ يُوسُفَ فَكَانَ رَجُلًا نَاجِحًا، وَكَانَ فِي بَيْتِ سَيِّدِهِ ٱلْمِصْرِيِّ.

And the LORde was with Ioseph and he was a luckie felowe and continued in the house of his master the Egiptian.

٣ 3 وَرَأَى سَيِّدُهُ أَنَّ ٱلرَّبَّ مَعَهُ، وَأَنَّ كُلَّ مَا يَصْنَعُ كَانَ ٱلرَّبُّ يُنْجِحُهُ بِيَدِهِ.

And his master sawe that the ORde was with him and that the LORde made all that he dyd prosper in his hande:

٤ 4 فَوَجَدَ يُوسُفُ نِعْمَةً فِي عَيْنَيْهِ، وَخَدَمَهُ، فَوَكَّلَهُ عَلَى بَيْتِهِ وَدَفَعَ إِلَى يَدِهِ كُلَّ مَا كَانَ لَهُ.

Wherfore he founde grace in his masters syghte and serued him. And his master made him ruelar of his house and put all that he had in his hande.

٥ 5 وَكَانَ مِنْ حِينِ وَكَّلَهُ عَلَى بَيْتِهِ، وَعَلَى كُلِّ مَا كَانَ لَهُ، أَنَّ ٱلرَّبَّ بَارَكَ بَيْتَ ٱلْمِصْرِيِّ بِسَبَبِ يُوسُفَ. وَكَانَتْ بَرَكَةُ ٱلرَّبِّ عَلَى كُلِّ مَا كَانَ لَهُ فِي ٱلْبَيْتِ وَفِي ٱلْحَقْلِ،

And as soone as he had made him ruelar ouer his house ad ouer all that he had the LORde blessed this Egiptians house for Iosephs sake and the blessynge of the LORde was vpon all that he had: both in the house and also in the feldes.

٦ 6 فَتَرَكَ كُلَّ مَا كَانَ لَهُ فِي يَدِ يُوسُفَ. وَلَمْ يَكُنْ مَعَهُ يَعْرِفُ شَيْئًا إِلَا ٱلْخُبْزَ ٱلَّذِي يَأْكُلُ. وَكَانَ يُوسُفُ حَسَنَ ٱلصُّورَةِ وَحَسَنَ ٱلْمَنْظَرِ.

And therfore he left all that he had in Iosephs hande and loked vpon nothinge that was with him saue only on the bread which he ate. And Ioseph was a goodly persone and a well favored

٧ 7 وَحَدَثَ بَعْدَ هَذِهِ ٱلْأُمُورِ أَنَّ ٱمْرَأَةَ سَيِّدِهِ رَفَعَتْ عَيْنَيْهَا إِلَى يُوسُفَ وَقَالَتِ: «ٱضْطَجِعْ مَعِي».

And it fortuned after this that his masters wife cast hir eyes vpon Ioseph and sayde come lye with me.

٨ 8 فَأَبَى وَقَالَ لِٱمْرَأَةِ سَيِّدِهِ: «هُوَذَا سَيِّدِي لَا يَعْرِفُ مَعِي مَا فِي ٱلْبَيْتِ، وَكُلُّ مَا لَهُ قَدْ دَفَعَهُ إِلَى يَدِي.

But he denyed and sayde to her: Beholde my master woteth not what he hath in the house with me but hath commytted all that he hath to my hande

٩ 9 لَيْسَ هُوَ فِي هَذَا ٱلْبَيْتِ أَعْظَمَ مِنِّي. وَلَمْ يُمْسِكْ عَنِّي شَيْئًا غَيْرَكِ، لِأَنَّكِ ٱمْرَأَتُهُ. فَكَيْفَ أَصْنَعُ هَذَا ٱلشَّرَّ ٱلْعَظِيمَ وَأُخْطِئُ إِلَى ٱللهِ؟».

He him selfe is not greatter in the house than I ad hath kepte nothige fro me but only the because thou art his wife. How than cam I do this great wykydnes for to synne agaynst God?

١٠ 10 وَكَانَ إِذْ كَلَّمَتْ يُوسُفَ يَوْمًا فَيَوْمًا أَنَّهُ لَمْ يَسْمَعْ لَهَا أَنْ يَضْطَجِعَ بِجَانِبِهَا لِيَكُونَ مَعَهَا.

And after this maner spake she to Ioseph daye by daye: but he harkened not vnto her to slepe nere her or to be in her company.

١١ 11 ثُمَّ حَدَثَ نَحْوَ هَذَا ٱلْوَقْتِ أَنَّهُ دَخَلَ ٱلْبَيْتَ لِيَعْمَلَ عَمَلَهُ، وَلَمْ يَكُنْ إِنْسَانٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْبَيْتِ هُنَاكَ فِي ٱلْبَيْتِ.

And it fortuned aboute the same season that Ioseph entred in to the house to do his busynes: and there was none of the houshold by in the house.

١٢ 12 فَأَمْسَكَتْهُ بِثَوْبِهِ قَائِلَةً: «ٱضْطَجِعْ مَعِي!». فَتَرَكَ ثَوْبَهُ فِي يَدِهَا وَهَرَبَ وَخَرَجَ إِلَى خَارِجٍ.

And she caught him by the garment saynge: come slepe with me. And he left his garment in hir hande ad fled and gott him out

١٣ 13 وَكَانَ لَمَّا رَأَتْ أَنَّهُ تَرَكَ ثَوْبَهُ فِي يَدِهَا وَهَرَبَ إِلَى خَارِجٍ،

when she sawe that he had left his garmet in hir hande and was fled out

١٤ 14 أَنَّهَا نَادَتْ أَهْلَ بَيْتِهَا، وَكَلَّمَتهُمْ قَائِلةً: «ٱنْظُرُوا! قَدْ جَاءَ إِلَيْنَا بِرَجُلٍ عِبْرَانِيٍّ لِيُدَاعِبَنَا! دَخَلَ إِلَيَّ لِيَضْطَجِعَ مَعِي، فَصَرَخْتُ بِصَوْتٍ عَظِيمٍ.

she called vnto the men of the house and tolde them saynge: Se he hath brought in an Hebrewe vnto vs to do vs shame. for he came in to me for to haue slept myth me. But I cried with a lowde voyce.

١٥ 15 وَكَانَ لَمَّا سَمِعَ أَنِّي رَفَعْتُ صَوْتِي وَصَرَخْتُ، أَنَّهُ تَرَكَ ثَوْبَهُ بِجَانِبِي وَهَرَبَ وَخَرَجَ إِلَى خَارِجٍ».

And when he harde that I lyfte vp my voyce and cryed he left his garment with me and fled awaye and got him out.

١٦ 16 فَوَضَعَتْ ثَوْبَهُ بِجَانِبِهَا حَتَّى جَاءَ سَيِّدُهُ إِلَى بَيْتِهِ.

And she layed vp his garment by her vntill hir lorde came home.

١٧ 17 فَكَلَّمَتْهُ بِمِثْلِ هَذَا ٱلْكَلَامِ قَائِلَةً: «دَخَلَ إِلَيَّ ٱلْعَبْدُ ٱلْعِبْرَانِيُّ ٱلَّذِي جِئْتَ بِهِ إِلَيْنَا لِيُدَاعِبَنِي.

And she told him acordynge to these wordes saynge. This Hebrues servaunte which thou hast brought vnto vs came in to me to do me shame.

١٨ 18 وَكَانَ لَمَّا رَفَعْتُ صَوْتِي وَصَرَخْتُ، أَنَّهُ تَرَكَ ثَوْبَهُ بِجَانِبِي وَهَرَبَ إِلَى خَارِجٍ».

But as soone as I lyft vp my voyce and cryed he left his garment with me and fled out.

١٩ 19 فَكَانَ لَمَّا سَمِعَ سَيِّدُهُ كَلَامَ ٱمْرَأَتِهِ ٱلَّذِي كَلَّمَتْهُ بِهِ قَائِلَةً: «بِحَسَبِ هَذَا ٱلْكَلَامِ صَنَعَ بِي عَبْدُكَ»، أَنَّ غَضَبَهُ حَمِيَ.

When his master herde the woordes of his wyfe which she tolde him saynge: after this maner dyd thy servaunte to me he waxed wrooth.

٢٠ 20 فَأَخَذَ يُوسُفَ سَيِّدُهُ وَوَضَعَهُ فِي بَيْتِ ٱلسِّجْنِ، ٱلْمَكَانِ ٱلَّذِي كَانَ أَسْرَى ٱلْمَلِكِ مَحْبُوسِينَ فِيهِ. وَكَانَ هُنَاكَ فِي بَيْتِ ٱلسِّجْنِ.

And he toke Ioseph and put him in pryson: euen in the place where the kinges prisoners laye bounde. And there contynued he in preson.

٢١ 21 وَلَكِنَّ ٱلرَّبَّ كَانَ مَعَ يُوسُفَ، وَبَسَطَ إِلَيْهِ لُطْفًا، وَجَعَلَ نِعْمَةً لَهُ فِي عَيْنَيْ رَئِيسِ بَيْتِ ٱلسِّجْنِ.

But the LORde was with Ioseph ad shewed him mercie and gott him fauoure in the syghte of the keper of ye preson

٢٢ 22 فَدَفَعَ رَئِيسُ بَيْتِ ٱلسِّجْنِ إِلَى يَدِ يُوسُفَ جَمِيعَ ٱلْأَسْرَى ٱلَّذِينَ فِي بَيْتِ ٱلسِّجْنِ. وَكُلُّ مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ هُنَاكَ كَانَ هُوَ ٱلْعَامِلَ.

which commytted to Iosephe hade all the presoners that were in the preson housse. And what soeuer was done there yt dyd he.

٢٣ 23 وَلَمْ يَكُنْ رَئِيسُ بَيْتِ ٱلسِّجْنِ يَنْظُرُ شَيْئًا ٱلْبَتَّةَ مِمَّا فِي يَدِهِ، لِأَنَّ ٱلرَّبَّ كَانَ مَعَهُ، وَمَهْمَا صَنَعَ كَانَ ٱلرَّبُّ يُنْجِحُهُ.

And the keper of the preso loked vnto nothinge that was vnder his hande because the LORde was with him and because that what soeuer he dyd the LORde made it come luckely to passe.
