حِزْقِيَال 14

١ 1 فَجَاءَ إِلَيَّ رِجَالٌ مِنْ شُيُوخِ إِسْرَائِيلَ وَجَلَسُوا أَمَامِي.

Then came certain of the elders of Israel unto me, and sat before me.

٢ 2 فَصَارَتْ إِلَيَّ كَلِمَةُ ٱلرَّبِّ قَائِلَةً:

And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

٣ 3 «يَا ٱبْنَ آدَمَ، هَؤُلَاءِ ٱلرِّجَالُ قَدْ أَصْعَدُوا أَصْنَامَهُمْ إِلَى قُلُوبِهِمْ، وَوَضَعُوا مَعْثَرَةَ إِثْمِهِمْ تِلْقَاءَ أَوْجُهِهِمْ. فَهَلْ أُسْأَلُ مِنْهُمْ سُؤَالًا؟

Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their heart, and put the stumbling block of their iniquity before their face: should I be enquired of at all by them?

٤ 4 لِأَجْلِ ذَلِكَ كَلِّمْهُمْ وَقُلْ لَهُمْ: هَكَذَا قَالَ ٱلسَّيِّدُ ٱلرَّبُّ: كُلُّ إِنْسَانٍ مِنْ بَيْتِ إِسْرَائِيلَ ٱلَّذِي يُصْعِدُ أَصْنَامَهُ إِلَى قَلْبِهِ، وَيَضَعُ مَعْثَرَةَ إِثْمِهِ تِلْقَاءَ وَجْهِهِ، ثُمَّ يَأْتِي إِلَى ٱلنَّبِيِّ، فَإِنِّي أَنَا ٱلرَّبُّ أُجِيبُهُ حَسَبَ كَثْرَةِ أَصْنَامِهِ،

Therefore speak unto them, and say unto them, Thus says the Lord GOD; Every man of the house of Israel that sets up his idols in his heart, and puts the stumbling block of his iniquity before his face, and comes to the prophet; I the LORD will answer him that comes according to the multitude of his idols;

٥ 5 لِكَيْ آخُذَ بَيْتَ إِسْرَائِيلَ بِقُلُوبِهِمْ، لِأَنَّهُمْ كُلَّهُمْ قَدِ ٱرْتَدُّوا عَنِّي بِأَصْنَامِهِمْ.

That I may take the house of Israel in their own heart, because they are all cut off from me through their idols.

٦ 6 لِذَلِكَ قُلْ لِبَيْتِ إِسْرَائِيلَ: هَكَذَا قَالَ ٱلسَّيِّدُ ٱلرَّبُّ: تُوبُوا وَٱرْجِعُوا عَنْ أَصْنَامِكُمْ، وَعَنْ كُلِّ رَجَاسَاتِكُمُ ٱصْرِفُوا وُجُوهَكُمْ.

Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord GOD; Repent, and turn yourselves from your idols; and turn away your faces from all your abominations.

٧ 7 لِأَنَّ كُلَّ إِنْسَانٍ مِنْ بَيْتِ إِسْرَائِيلَ أَوْ مِنَ ٱلْغُرَبَاءِ ٱلْمُتَغَرِّبِينَ فِي إِسْرَائِيلَ، إِذَا ٱرْتَدَّ عَنِّي وَأَصْعَدَ أَصْنَامَهُ إِلَى قَلْبِهِ، وَوَضَعَ مَعْثَرَةَ إِثْمِهِ تِلْقَاءَ وَجْهِهِ، ثُمَّ جَاءَ إِلَى ٱلنَّبِيِّ لِيَسْأَلَهُ عَنِّي، فَإِنِّي أَنَا ٱلرَّبُّ أُجِيبُهُ بِنَفْسِي.

For every one of the house of Israel, or of the stranger that sojourns in Israel, which separates himself from me, and sets up his idols in his heart, and puts the stumbling block of his iniquity before his face, and comes to a prophet to enquire of him concerning me; I the LORD will answer him by myself:

٨ 8 وَأَجْعَلُ وَجْهِي ضِدَّ ذَلِكَ ٱلْإِنْسَانِ وَأَجْعَلُهُ آيَةً وَمَثَلًا، وَأَسْتَأْصِلُهُ مِنْ وَسْطِ شَعْبِي، فَتَعْلَمُونَ أَنِّي أَنَا ٱلرَّبُّ.

And I will set my face against that man, and will make him a sign and a proverb, and I will cut him off from the midst of my people; and all of you shall know that I am the LORD.

٩ 9 فَإِذَا ضَلَّ ٱلنَّبِيُّ وَتَكَلَّمَ كَلَامًا، فَأَنَا ٱلرَّبَّ قَدْ أَضْلَلْتُ ذَلِكَ ٱلنَّبِيَّ، وَسَأَمُدُّ يَدِي عَلَيْهِ وَأُبِيدُهُ مِنْ وَسْطِ شَعْبِي إِسْرَائِيلَ.

And if the prophet be deceived when he has spoken a thing, I the LORD have deceived that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand upon him, and will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel.

١٠ 10 وَيَحْمِلُونَ إِثْمَهُمْ. كَإِثْمِ ٱلسَّائِلِ يَكُونُ إِثْمُ ٱلنَّبِيِّ.

And they shall bear the punishment of their iniquity: the punishment of the prophet shall be even as the punishment of him that seeks unto him;

١١ 11 لِكَيْ لَا يَعُودَ يَضِلُّ عَنِّي بَيْتُ إِسْرَائِيلَ، وَلِكَيْ لَا يَعُودُوا يَتَنَجَّسُونَ بِكُلِّ مَعَاصِيهِمْ، بَلْ لِيَكُونُوا لِي شَعْبًا وَأَنَا أَكُونُ لَهُمْ إِلَهًا، يَقُولُ ٱلسَّيِّدُ ٱلرَّبُّ».

That the house of Israel may go no more astray from me, neither be polluted any more with all their transgressions; but that they may be my people, and I may be their God, says the Lord GOD.

١٢ 12 وَكَانَتْ إِلَيَّ كَلِمَةُ ٱلرَّبِّ قَائِلَةً:

The word of the LORD came again to me, saying,

١٣ 13 «يَا ٱبْنَ آدَمَ، إِنْ أَخْطَأَتْ إِلَيَّ أَرْضٌ وَخَانَتْ خِيَانَةً، فَمَدَدْتُ يَدِي عَلَيْهَا وَكَسَرْتُ لَهَا قِوَامَ ٱلْخُبْزِ، وَأَرْسَلْتُ عَلَيْهَا ٱلْجُوعَ، وَقَطَعْتُ مِنْهَا ٱلْإِنْسَانَ وَٱلْحَيَوَانَ،

Son of man, when the land sins against me by trespassing grievously, then will I stretch out mine hand upon it, and will break the staff of the bread thereof, and will send famine upon it, and will cut off man and beast from it:

١٤ 14 وَكَانَ فِيهَا هَؤُلَاءِ ٱلرِّجَالُ ٱلثَّلَاثَةُ: نُوحٌ وَدَانِيآلُ وَأَيُّوبُ، فَإِنَّهُمْ إِنَّمَا يُخَلِّصُونَ أَنْفُسَهُمْ بِبِرِّهِمْ، يَقُولُ ٱلسَّيِّدُ ٱلرَّبُّ.

Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, says the Lord GOD.

١٥ 15 إِنْ عَبَّرْتُ فِي ٱلْأَرْضِ وُحُوشًا رَدِيئَةً فَأَثْكَلُوهَا وَصَارَتْ خَرَابًا بِلَا عَابِرٍ بِسَبَبِ ٱلْوُحُوشِ،

If I cause dangerous beasts to pass through the land, and they spoil it, so that it be desolate, that no man may pass through because of the beasts:

١٦ 16 وَفِي وَسْطِهَا هَؤُلَاءِ ٱلرِّجَالُ ٱلثَّلَاثَةُ، فَحَيٌّ أَنَا، يَقُولُ ٱلسَّيِّدُ ٱلرَّبُّ، إِنَّهُمْ لَا يُخَلِّصُونَ بَنِينَ وَلَا بَنَاتٍ. هُمْ وَحْدَهُمْ يَخْلُصُونَ وَٱلْأَرْضُ تَصِيرُ خَرِبَةً.

Though these three men were in it, as I live, says the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters; they only shall be delivered, but the land shall be desolate.

١٧ 17 أَوْ إِنْ جَلَبْتُ سَيْفًا عَلَى تِلْكَ ٱلْأَرْضِ وَقُلْتُ: يَا سَيْفُ ٱعْبُرْ فِي ٱلْأَرْضِ، وَقَطَعْتُ مِنْهَا ٱلْإِنْسَانَ وَٱلْحَيَوَانَ،

Or if I bring a sword upon that land, and say, Sword, go through the land; so that I cut off man and beast from it:

١٨ 18 وَفِي وَسْطِهَا هَؤُلَاءِ ٱلرِّجَالُ ٱلثَّلَاثَةُ، فَحَيٌّ أَنَا، يَقُولُ ٱلسَّيِّدُ ٱلرَّبُّ، إِنَّهُمْ لَا يُخَلِّصُونَ بَنِينَ وَلَا بَنَاتٍ، بَلْ هُمْ وَحْدَهُمْ يَخْلُصُونَ.

Though these three men were in it, as I live, says the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters, but they only shall be delivered themselves.

١٩ 19 أَوْ إِنْ أَرْسَلْتُ وَبَأً عَلَى تِلْكَ ٱلْأَرْضِ، وَسَكَبْتُ غَضَبِي عَلَيْهَا بِٱلدَّمِ لِأَقْطَعَ مِنْهَا ٱلْإِنْسَانَ وَٱلْحَيَوَانَ،

Or if I send a pestilence into that land, and pour out my fury upon it in blood, to cut off from it man and beast:

٢٠ 20 وَفِي وَسْطِهَا نُوحٌ وَدَانِيآلُ وَأَيُّوبُ، فَحَيٌّ أَنَا، يَقُولُ ٱلسَّيِّدُ ٱلرَّبُّ، إِنَّهُمْ لَا يُخَلِّصُونَ ٱبْنًا وَلَا ٱبْنَةً. إِنَّمَا يُخَلِّصُونَ أَنْفُسَهُمْ بِبِرِّهِمْ.

Though Noah, Daniel, and Job were in it, as I live, says the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither son nor daughter; they shall but deliver their own souls by their righteousness.

٢١ 21 «لِأَنَّهُ هَكَذَا قَالَ ٱلسَّيِّدُ ٱلرَّبُّ: كَمْ بِٱلْحَرِيِّ إِنْ أَرْسَلْتُ أَحْكَامِي ٱلرَّدِيئَةَ عَلَى أُورُشَلِيمَ: سَيْفًا وَجُوعًا وَوَحْشًا رَدِيئًا وَوَبَأً، لِأَقْطَعَ مِنْهَا ٱلْإِنْسَانَ وَٱلْحَيَوَانَ!

For thus says the Lord GOD; How much more when I send my four sore judgments upon Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the dangerous beast, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast?

٢٢ 22 فَهُوَذَا بَقِيَّةٌ فِيهَا نَاجِيَةٌ تُخْرَجُ بَنُونَ وَبَنَاتٌ. هُوَذَا يَخْرُجُونَ إِلَيْكُمْ فَتَنْظُرُونَ طَرِيقَهُمْ وَأَعْمَالَهُمْ، وَتَتَعَزَّوْنَ عَنِ ٱلشَّرِّ ٱلَّذِي جَلَبْتُهُ عَلَى أُورُشَلِيمَ عَنْ كُلِّ مَا جَلَبْتُهُ عَلَيْهَا.

Yet, behold, therein shall be left a remnant that shall be brought forth, both sons and daughters: behold, they shall come forth unto you, and all of you shall see their way and their doings: and all of you shall be comforted concerning the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, even concerning all that I have brought upon it.

٢٣ 23 وَيُعَزُّونَكُمْ إِذْ تَرَوْنَ طَرِيقَهُمْ وَأَعْمَالَهُمْ، فَتَعْلَمُونَ أَنِّي لَمْ أَصْنَعْ بِلَا سَبَبٍ كُلَّ مَا صَنَعْتُهُ فِيهَا، يَقُولُ ٱلسَّيِّدُ ٱلرَّبُّ».

And they shall comfort you, when all of you see their ways and their doings: and all of you shall know that I have not done without cause all that I have done in it, says the Lord GOD.
