اَلْمُلُوكِ ٱلْأَوَّلُ 6

١ 1 وَكَانَ فِي سَنَةِ ٱلْأَرْبَعِ مِئَةٍ وَٱلثَّمَانِينَ لِخُرُوجِ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ مِنْ أَرْضِ مِصْرَ، فِي ٱلسَّنَةِ ٱلرَّابِعَةِ لِمُلْكِ سُلَيْمَانَ عَلَى إِسْرَائِيلَ، فِي شَهْرِ زِيُو وَهُوَ ٱلشَّهْرُ ٱلثَّانِي، أَنَّهُ بَنَى ٱلْبَيْتَ لِلرَّبِّ.

And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the sons of Israel came out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Ziv, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of Jehovah.

٢ 2 وَٱلْبَيْتُ ٱلَّذِي بَنَاهُ ٱلْمَلِكُ سُلَيْمَانُ لِلرَّبِّ طُولُهُ سِتُّونَ ذِرَاعًا، وَعَرْضُهُ عِشْرُونَ ذِرَاعًا، وَسَمْكُهُ ثَلَاثُونَ ذِرَاعًا.

And the house which king Solomon built for Jehovah, the length of it was sixty cubits, and the breadth of it twenty, and the height of it thirty cubits,

٣ 3 وَٱلرِّوَاقُ قُدَّامَ هَيْكَلِ ٱلْبَيْتِ طُولُهُ عِشْرُونَ ذِرَاعًا حَسَبَ عَرْضِ ٱلْبَيْتِ، وَعَرْضُهُ عَشَرُ أَذْرُعٍ قُدَّامَ ٱلْبَيْتِ.

and the porch in front of the temple of the house, twenty cubits was the length of it, according to the breadth of the house, and ten cubits was the breadth of it in front of the house.

٤ 4 وَعَمِلَ لِلْبَيْتِ كُوًى مَسْقُوفَةً مُشَبَّكَةً.

And he made windows of fixed lattice-work for the house.

٥ 5 وَبَنَى مَعَ حَائِطِ ٱلْبَيْتِ طِبَاقًا حَوَالَيْهِ مَعَ حِيطَانِ ٱلْبَيْتِ حَوْلَ ٱلْهَيْكَلِ وَٱلْمِحْرَابِ، وَعَمِلَ غُرُفَاتٍ فِي مُسْتَدِيرِهَا.

And against the wall of the house he built stories round about, against the walls of the house round about, both of the temple and of the oracle. And he made side-chambers round about.

٦ 6 فَٱلطَّبَقَةُ ٱلسُّفْلَى عَرْضُهَا خَمْسُ أَذْرُعٍ، وَٱلْوُسْطَى عَرْضُهَا سِتُّ أَذْرُعٍ، وَٱلثَّالِثَةُ عَرْضُهَا سَبْعُ أَذْرُعٍ، لِأَنَّهُ جَعَلَ لِلْبَيْتِ حَوَالَيْهِ مِنْ خَارِجٍ أَخْصَامًا لِئَلَّا تَتَمَكَّنَ ٱلْجَوَائِزُ فِي حِيطَانِ ٱلْبَيْتِ.

The lowest story was five cubits broad, and the middle was six cubits broad, and the third was seven cubits broad, for on the outside he made offsets in the wall of the house round about, that the beams should not be fastened in the walls of the house.

٧ 7 وَٱلْبَيْتُ فِي بِنَائِهِ بُنِيَ بِحِجَارَةٍ صَحِيحَةٍ مُقْتَلَعَةٍ، وَلَمْ يُسْمَعْ فِي ٱلْبَيْتِ عِنْدَ بِنَائِهِ مِنْحَتٌ وَلَا مِعْوَلٌ وَلَا أَدَاةٌ مِنْ حَدِيدٍ.

And the house, when it was being built, was built of stone made ready at the quarry. And there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was being built.

٨ 8 وَكَانَ بَابُ ٱلْغُرْفَةِ ٱلْوُسْطَى فِي جَانِبِ ٱلْبَيْتِ ٱلْأَيْمَنِ، وَكَانُوا يَصْعَدُونَ بِدَرَجٍ مُعَطَّفٍ إِلَى ٱلْوُسْطَى، وَمِنَ ٱلْوُسْطَى إِلَى ٱلثَّالِثَةِ.

The door for the middle side-chambers was in the right side of the house. And they went up by winding stairs into the middle story, and out of the middle into the third.

٩ 9 فَبَنَى ٱلْبَيْتَ وَأَكْمَلَهُ، وَسَقَفَ ٱلْبَيْتَ بِأَلْوَاحٍ وَجَوَائِزَ مِنَ ٱلْأَرْزِ.

So he built the house, and finished it. And he covered the house with beams and planks of cedar.

١٠ 10 وَبَنَى ٱلْغُرُفَاتِ عَلَى ٱلْبَيْتِ كُلِّهِ سَمْكُهَا خَمْسُ أَذْرُعٍ، وَتَمَكَّنَتْ فِي ٱلْبَيْتِ بِخَشَبِ أَرْزٍ.

And he built the stories against all the house, each five cubits high: and they rested on the house with timber of cedar.

١١ 11 وَكَانَ كَلَامُ ٱلرَّبِّ إِلَى سُلَيْمَانَ قَائِلًا:

And the word of Jehovah came to Solomon, saying,

١٢ 12 «هَذَا ٱلْبَيْتُ ٱلَّذِي أَنْتَ بَانِيهِ، إِنْ سَلَكْتَ فِي فَرَائِضِي وَعَمِلْتَ أَحْكَامِي وَحَفِظْتَ كُلَّ وَصَايَايَ لِلسُّلُوكِ بِهَا، فَإِنِّي أُقِيمُ مَعَكَ كَلَامِي ٱلَّذِي تَكَلَّمْتُ بِهِ إِلَى دَاوُدَ أَبِيكَ،

Concerning this house that thou are building, if thou will walk in my statutes, and execute my ordinances, and keep all my commandments to walk in them, then I will establish my word with thee, which I spoke to David thy father.

١٣ 13 وَأَسْكُنُ فِي وَسْطِ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ، وَلَا أَتْرُكُ شَعْبِي إِسْرَائِيلَ».

And I will dwell among the sons of Israel, and will not forsake my people Israel.

١٤ 14 فَبَنَى سُلَيْمَانُ ٱلْبَيْتَ وَأَكْمَلَهُ.

So Solomon built the house, and finished it.

١٥ 15 وَبَنَى حِيطَانَ ٱلْبَيْتِ مِنْ دَاخِلٍ بِأَضْلَاعِ أَرْزٍ مِنْ أَرْضِ ٱلْبَيْتِ إِلَى حِيطَانِ ٱلسَّقْفِ، وَغَشَّاهُ مِنْ دَاخِلٍ بِخَشَبٍ، وَفَرَشَ أَرْضَ ٱلْبَيْتِ بِأَخْشَابِ سَرْوٍ.

And he built the walls of the house inside with boards of cedar. From the floor of the house to the walls of the ceiling, he covered them on the inside with wood. And he covered the floor of the house with boards of fir.

١٦ 16 وَبَنَى عِشْرِينَ ذِرَاعًا مِنْ مُؤَخَّرِ ٱلْبَيْتِ بِأَضْلَاعِ أَرْزٍ مِنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ إِلَى ٱلْحِيطَانِ. وَبَنَى دَاخِلَهُ لِأَجْلِ ٱلْمِحْرَابِ، أَيْ قُدْسِ ٱلْأَقْدَاسِ.

And he built twenty cubits on the hinder part of the house with boards of cedar from the floor to the walls of the ceiling. He built them for it inside, for an oracle, even for the most holy place.

١٧ 17 وَأَرْبَعُونَ ذِرَاعًا كَانَتِ ٱلْبَيْتَ، أَيِ ٱلْهَيْكَلَ ٱلَّذِي أَمَامَهُ.

And the house, that is, the temple in front of the oracle, was forty cubits long.

١٨ 18 وَأَرْزُ ٱلْبَيْتِ مِنْ دَاخِلٍ كَانَ مَنْقُورًا عَلَى شِكْلِ قِثَّاءٍ وَبَرَاعِمِ زُهُورٍ. ٱلْجَمِيعُ أَرْزٌ. لَمْ يَكُنْ يُرَى حَجَرٌ.

And there was cedar on the house inside, carved with knops and open flowers. All was cedar; there was no stone seen.

١٩ 19 وَهَيَّأَ مِحْرَابًا فِي وَسَطِ ٱلْبَيْتِ مِنْ دَاخِلٍ لِيَضَعَ هُنَاكَ تَابُوتَ عَهْدِ ٱلرَّبِّ.

And he prepared an oracle in the midst of the house inside, to set there the ark of the covenant of Jehovah.

٢٠ 20 وَلِأَجْلِ ٱلْمِحْرَابِ عِشْرُونَ ذِرَاعًا طُولًا وَعِشْرُونَ ذِرَاعًا عَرْضًا وَعِشْرُونَ ذِرَاعًا سَمْكًا. وَغَشَّاهُ بِذَهَبٍ خَالِصٍ، وَغَشَّى ٱلْمَذْبَحَ بِأَرْزٍ.

And inside the oracle was a space of twenty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in breadth, and twenty cubits in the height of it. And he overlaid it with pure gold. And he covered the altar with cedar.

٢١ 21 وَغَشَّى سُلَيْمَانُ ٱلْبَيْتَ مِنْ دَاخِلٍ بِذَهَبٍ خَالِصٍ. وَسَدَّ بِسَلَاسِلِ ذَهَبٍ قُدَّامَ ٱلْمِحْرَابِ. وَغَشَّاهُ بِذَهَبٍ.

So Solomon overlaid the house inside with pure gold. And he drew chains of gold across before the oracle, and he overlaid it with gold.

٢٢ 22 وَجَمِيعُ ٱلْبَيْتِ غَشَّاهُ بِذَهَبٍ إِلَى تَمَامِ كُلِّ ٱلْبَيْتِ، وَكُلُّ ٱلْمَذْبَحِ ٱلَّذِي لِلْمِحْرَابِ غَشَّاهُ بِذَهَبٍ.

And the whole house he overlaid with gold until all the house was finished. Also the whole altar that belonged to the oracle he overlaid with gold.

٢٣ 23 وَعَمِلَ فِي ٱلْمِحْرَابِ كَرُوبَيْنِ مِنْ خَشَبِ ٱلزَّيْتُونِ، عُلُوُّ ٱلْوَاحِدِ عَشَرُ أَذْرُعٍ.

And in the oracle he made two cherubim of olive-wood, each ten cubits high.

٢٤ 24 وَخَمْسُ أَذْرُعٍ جَنَاحُ ٱلْكَرُوبِ ٱلْوَاحِدُ، وَخَمْسُ أَذْرُعٍ جَنَاحُ ٱلْكَرُوبِ ٱلْآخَرُ. عَشَرُ أَذْرُعٍ مِنْ طَرَفِ جَنَاحِهِ إِلَى طَرَفِ جَنَاحِهِ.

And five cubits was the one wing of the cherub, and five cubits the other wing of the cherub. From the outermost part of the one wing to the outermost part of the other were ten cubits.

٢٥ 25 وَعَشَرُ أَذْرُعٍ ٱلْكَرُوبُ ٱلْآخَرُ. قِيَاسٌ وَاحِدٌ، وَشَكْلٌ وَاحِدٌ لِلْكَرُوبَيْنِ.

And the other cherub was ten cubits; both of the cherubim were of one measure and one form.

٢٦ 26 عُلُوُّ ٱلْكَرُوبِ ٱلْوَاحِدِ عَشَرُ أَذْرُعٍ وَكَذَا ٱلْكَرُوبُ ٱلْآخَرُ.

The height of the one cherub was ten cubits, and so it was of the other cherub.

٢٧ 27 وَجَعَلَ ٱلْكَرُوبَيْنِ فِي وَسْطِ ٱلْبَيْتِ ٱلدَّاخِلِيِّ، وَبَسَطُوا أَجْنِحَةَ ٱلْكَرُوبَيْنِ فَمَسَّ جَنَاحُ ٱلْوَاحِدِ ٱلْحَائِطَ وَجَنَاحُ ٱلْكَرُوبِ ٱلْآخَرِ مَسَّ ٱلْحَائِطَ ٱلْآخَرَ. وَكَانَتْ أَجْنِحَتُهُمَا فِي وَسْطِ ٱلْبَيْتِ يَمَسُّ أَحَدُهُمَا ٱلْآخَرَ.

And he set the cherubim inside the inner house. And the wings of the cherubim were stretched forth, so that the wing of the one touched the one wall, and the wing of the other cherub touched the other wall. And their wings touched each another in the middle of the house.

٢٨ 28 وَغَشَّى ٱلْكَرُوبَيْنِ بِذَهَبٍ.

And he overlaid the cherubim with gold.

٢٩ 29 وَجَمِيعُ حِيطَانِ ٱلْبَيْتِ فِي مُسْتَدِيرِهَا رَسَمَهَا نَقْشًا بِنَقْرِ كَرُوبِيمَ وَنَخِيلٍ وَبَرَاعِمِ زُهُورٍ مِنْ دَاخِلٍ وَمِنْ خَارِجٍ.

And he carved all the walls of the house round about with carved figures of cherubim and palm trees and open flowers, inside and outside.

٣٠ 30 وَغَشَّى أَرْضَ ٱلْبَيْتِ بِذَهَبٍ مِنْ دَاخِلٍ وَمِنْ خَارِجٍ.

And the floor of the house he overlaid with gold, inside and outside.

٣١ 31 وَعَمِلَ لِبَابِ ٱلْمِحْرَابِ مِصْرَاعَيْنِ مِنْ خَشَبِ ٱلزَّيْتُونِ. ٱلسَّاكِفُ وَٱلْقَائِمَتَانِ مُخَمَّسَةٌ.

And for the entrance of the oracle he made doors of olive-wood. The lintel and door-posts were a fifth part of the wall.

٣٢ 32 وَٱلْمِصْرَاعَانِ مِنْ خَشَبِ ٱلزَّيْتُونِ. وَرَسَمَ عَلَيْهِمَا نَقْشَ كَرُوبِيمَ وَنَخِيلٍ وَبَرَاعِمِ زُهُورٍ، وَغَشَّاهُمَا بِذَهَبٍ، وَرَصَّعَ ٱلْكَرُوبِيمَ وَٱلنَّخِيلَ بِذَهَبٍ.

So he made two doors of olive-wood. And he carved upon them carvings of cherubim and palm trees and open flowers, and overlaid them with gold. And he spread the gold upon the cherubim, and upon the palm trees.

٣٣ 33 وَكَذَلِكَ عَمِلَ لِمَدْخَلِ ٱلْهَيْكَلِ قَوَائِمَ مِنْ خَشَبِ ٱلزَّيْتُونِ مُرَبَّعَةً،

So he also made for the entrance of the temple door-posts of olive-wood out of a fourth part of the wall,

٣٤ 34 وَمِصْرَاعَيْنِ مِنْ خَشَبِ ٱلسَّرْوِ. ٱلْمِصْرَاعُ ٱلْوَاحِدُ دَفَّتَانِ تَنْطَوِيَانِ، وَٱلْمِصْرَاعُ ٱلْآخَرُ دَفَّتَانِ تَنْطَوِيَانِ.

and two doors of fir-wood. The two leaves of the one door were folding, and the two leaves of the other door were folding.

٣٥ 35 وَنَحَتَ كَرُوبِيمَ وَنَخِيلًا وَبَرَاعِمَ زُهُورٍ، وَغَشَّاهَا بِذَهَبٍ مُطَرَّقٍ عَلَى ٱلْمَنْقُوشِ.

And he carved thereon cherubim and palm trees and open flowers. And he overlaid them with gold fitted upon the graven work.

٣٦ 36 وَبَنَى ٱلدَّارَ ٱلدَّاخِلِيَّةَ ثَلَاثَةَ صُفُوفٍ مَنْحُوتَةٍ، وَصَفًّا مِنْ جَوَائِزِ ٱلْأَرْزِ.

And he built the inner court with three courses of hewn stone, and a course of cedar beams.

٣٧ 37 فِي ٱلسَّنَةِ ٱلرَّابِعَةِ أُسِّسَ بَيْتُ ٱلرَّبِّ فِي شَهْرِ زِيُو.

In the fourth year the foundation of the house of Jehovah was laid, in the month Ziv.

٣٨ 38 وَفِي ٱلسَّنَةِ ٱلْحَادِيَةِ عَشْرَةَ فِي شَهْرِ بُولَ، وَهُوَ ٱلشَّهْرُ ٱلثَّامِنُ، أُكْمِلَ ٱلْبَيْتُ فِي جَمِيعِ أُمُورِهِ وَأَحْكَامِهِ. فَبَنَاهُ فِي سَبْعِ سِنِينٍ.

And in the eleventh year, in the month Bul, which is the eighth month, the house was finished throughout all the parts of it, and according to all the fashion of it. So he was seven years in building it.
