| هَؤُلَاءِ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ: رَأُوبَيْنُ، شَمْعُونُ، لَاوِي وَيَهُوذَا، يَسَّاكَرُ وَزَبُولُونُ، | ١ 1 |
These were the sons of Israel: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun,
| دَانُ، يُوسُفُ وَبَنْيَامِينُ، نَفْتَالِي، جَادُ وَأَشِيرُ. | ٢ 2 |
Dan, Joseph, Benjamin, Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.
| بَنُو يَهُوذَا: عَيْرُ وَأُونَانُ وَشَيْلَةُ. وُلِدَ ٱلثَّلَاثَةُ مِنْ بِنْتِ شُوعَ ٱلْكَنْعَانِيَّةِ. وَكَانَ عَيْرُ بِكْرُ يَهُوذَا شِرِّيرًا فِي عَيْنَيِ ٱلرَّبِّ فَأَمَاتَهُ. | ٣ 3 |
The sons of Judah: Er, Onan, and Shelah—these three the daughter of Shua, a Canaanite woman, bore to him. Er, Judah's firstborn, was wicked in the sight of the Lord, so he put him to death.
| وَثَامَارُ كَنَّتُهُ وَلَدَتْ لَهُ فَارَصَ وَزَارَحَ. كُلُّ بَنِي يَهُوذَا خَمْسَةٌ. | ٤ 4 |
Tamar was Judah's daughter-in-law, and she bore him Perez and Zerah. Judah had a total of five sons.
| اِبْنَا فَارَصَ: حَصْرُونُ وَحَامُولُ. | ٥ 5 |
The sons of Perez: Hezron and Hamul.
| وَبَنُو زَارَحَ: زِمْرِي وَأَيْثَانُ وَهَيْمَانُ وَكَلْكُولُ وَدَارَعُ. ٱلْجَمِيعُ خَمْسَةٌ. | ٦ 6 |
The sons of Zerah: Zimri, Ethan, Heman, Calcol and Darda—a total of five.
| وَٱبْنُ كَرْمِي عَخَارُ مُكَدِّرُ إِسْرَائِيلَ ٱلَّذِي خَانَ فِي ٱلْحَرَامِ. | ٧ 7 |
The son of Carmi: Achar, who caused trouble for Israel by being unfaithful in taking what was consecrated to the Lord.
| وَٱبْنُ أَيْثَانَ: عَزَرْيَا. | ٨ 8 |
The son of Ethan: Azariah.
| وَبَنُو حَصْرُونَ ٱلَّذِينَ وُلِدُوا لَهُ: يَرْحَمْئِيلُ وَرَامُ وَكَلُوبَايُ. | ٩ 9 |
The sons that were born to Hezron: Jerahmeel, Ram and Caleb.
| وَرَامُ وَلَدَ عَمِّينَادَابَ، وَعَمِّينَادَابُ وَلَدَ نَحْشُونَ رَئِيسَ بَنِي يَهُوذَا، | ١٠ 10 |
Ram was the father of Amminadab, and Amminadab was the father of Nahshon, a leader of Judah's descendants.
| وَنَحْشُونُ وَلَدَ سَلْمُوَ، وَسَلْمُو وَلَدَ بُوعَزَ، | ١١ 11 |
Nahshon was the father of Salmon, Salmon was the father of Boaz,
| وَبُوعَزُ وَلَدَ عُوبِيدَ، وَعُوبِيدُ وَلَدَ يَسَّى، | ١٢ 12 |
Boaz was the father of Obed, and Obed was the father of Jesse.
| وَيَسَّى وَلَدَ: بِكْرَهُ أَلِيآبَ، وَأَبِينَادَابَ ٱلثَّانِي، وَشِمْعَى ٱلثَّالِثَ، | ١٣ 13 |
Jesse was the father of his firstborn son Eliab; the second son was Abinadab, the third Shimea,
| وَنَثْنِئِيلَ ٱلرَّابِعَ، وَرَدَّايَ ٱلْخَامِسَ، | ١٤ 14 |
the fourth Nethanel, the fifth Raddai,
| وَأُوصَمَ ٱلسَّادِسَ، وَدَاوُدَ ٱلسَّابِعَ. | ١٥ 15 |
the sixth Ozem, and the seventh David.
| وَأُخْتَاهُمْ صَرُويَةُ وَأَبِيجَايِلُ. وَبَنُو صَرُويَةَ: أَبْشَايُ وَيُوآبُ وَعَسَائِيلُ، ثَلَاثَةٌ. | ١٦ 16 |
Their sisters were Zeruiah and Abigail. The sons of Zeruiah's were Abishai, Joab, and Asahel, three in total.
| وَأَبِيجَايِلُ وَلَدَتْ عَمَاسَا، وَأَبُو عَمَاسَا يَثْرُ ٱلْإِسْمَاعِيلِيُّ. | ١٧ 17 |
Abigail gave birth to Amasa, and the father of Amasa was Jether the Ishmaelite.
| وَكَالَبُ بْنُ حَصْرُونَ وَلَدَ مِنْ عَزُوبَةَ ٱمْرَأَتِهِ وَمِنْ يَرِيعُوثَ. وَهَؤُلَاءِ بَنُوهَا: يَاشَرُ وَشُوبَابُ وَأَرْدُونُ. | ١٨ 18 |
Caleb son of Hezron had children by his wife Azubah, and also by Jerioth. These were her sons: Jesher, Shobab, and Ardon.
| وَمَاتَتْ عَزُوبَةُ فَٱتَّخَذَ كَالَبُ لِنَفْسِهِ أَفْرَاتَ فَوَلَدَتْ لَهُ حُورَ. | ١٩ 19 |
When Azubah died, Caleb took Ephrath to be his wife, and she bore him Hur.
| وَحُورُ وَلَدَ أُورِيَ، وَأُورِي وَلَدَ بَصَلْئِيلَ. | ٢٠ 20 |
Hur was the father of Uri, and Uri the father of Bezalel.
| وَبَعْدُ دَخَلَ حَصْرُونُ عَلَى بِنْتِ مَاكِيرَ أَبِي جِلْعَادَ وَٱتَّخَذَهَا وَهُوَ ٱبْنُ سِتِّينَ سَنَةً فَوَلَدَتْ لَهُ سَجُوبَ. | ٢١ 21 |
Later on Hezron slept with the daughter of Makir the father of Gilead, whom he married when he was sixty years old, and she bore him Segub.
| وَسَجُوبُ وَلَدَ يَائِيرَ، وَكَانَ لَهُ ثَلَاثٌ وَعِشْرُونَ مَدِينَةً فِي أَرْضِ جِلْعَادَ. | ٢٢ 22 |
Segub was the father of Jair, who had twenty-three towns in Gilead.
| وَأَخَذَ جَشُورَ وَأَرَامَ حَوُّوثَ يَائِيرَ مِنْهُمْ مَعَ قَنَاةَ وَقُرَاهَا، سِتِّينَ مَدِينَةً. كُلُّ هَؤُلَاءِ بَنُو مَاكِيرَ أَبِي جِلْعَادَ. | ٢٣ 23 |
But Geshur and Aram took from them Havvoth Jair, along with Kenath and its towns, a total of sixty towns. These were all descendants of Makir the father of Gilead.
| وَبَعْدَ وَفَاةِ حَصْرُونَ فِي كَالَبِ أَفْرَاتَةَ، وَلَدَتْ لَهُ أَبِيَّاهُ ٱمْرَأَةُ حَصْرُونَ أَشْحُورَ أَبَا تَقُوعَ. | ٢٤ 24 |
After Hezron died in Caleb Ephrathah, his wife Abijah bore him Ashhur the father of Tekoa.
| وَكَانَ بَنُو يَرْحَمْئِيلَ بِكْرِ حَصْرُونَ: ٱلْبِكْرُ رَامَ، ثُمَّ بُونَةَ وَأَوْرَنَ وَأَوْصَمَ وَأَخِيَّا. | ٢٥ 25 |
The sons of Jerahmeel the firstborn of Hezron: Ram (firstborn), Bunah, Oren, Ozem, and Ahijah.
| وَكَانَتِ ٱمْرَأَةٌ أُخْرَى لِيَرْحَمْئِيلَ ٱسْمُهَا عَطَارَةُ. هِيَ أُمُّ أُونَامَ. | ٢٦ 26 |
Jerahmeel had another wife called Atarah. She was the mother of Onam.
| وَكَانَ بَنُو رَامَ بِكْرِ يَرْحَمْئِيلَ: مَعَصُ وَيَمِينُ وَعَاقَرُ. | ٢٧ 27 |
The sons of Ram the firstborn of Jerahmeel: Maaz, Jamin and Eker.
| وَكَانَ ٱبْنَا أُونَامَ: شَمَّايَ وَيَادَاعَ. وَٱبْنَا شَمَّايَ: نَادَابَ وَأَبِيشُورَ. | ٢٨ 28 |
The sons of Onam: Shammai and Jada. The sons of Shammai: Nadab and Abishur.
| وَٱسْمُ ٱمْرَأَةِ أَبِيشُورَ أَبِيحَايِلُ، وَوَلَدَتْ لَهُ أَحْبَانَ وَمُولِيدَ. | ٢٩ 29 |
Abishur's wife was called Abihail, who bore him Ahban and Molid.
| وَٱبْنَا نَادَابَ: سَلَدُ وَأَفَّايِمُ. وَمَاتَ سَلَدُ بِلَا بَنِينَ. | ٣٠ 30 |
The sons of Nadab: Seled and Appaim. Seled died without having children.
| وَٱبْنُ أَفَّايِمَ يَشْعِي، وَٱبْنُ يَشْعِي شِيشَانُ، وَٱبْنُ شِيشَانَ أَحْلَايُ. | ٣١ 31 |
The son of Appaim: Ishi, the father of Sheshan. Sheshan was the father of Ahlai.
| وَٱبْنَا يَادَاعَ أَخِي شَمَّايَ: يَثَرُ وَيُونَاثَانُ. وَمَاتَ يَثَرُ بِلَا بَنِينَ. | ٣٢ 32 |
The sons of Jada, the brother of Shammai: Jether and Jonathan. Jether died without having children.
| وَٱبْنَا يُونَاثَانَ: فَالَتُ وَزَازَا. هَؤُلَاءِ هُمْ بَنُو يَرْحَمْئِيلَ. | ٣٣ 33 |
The sons of Jonathan: Peleth and Zaza. These are all the descendants of Jerahmeel.
| وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لِشِيشَانَ بَنُونَ بَلْ بَنَاتٌ. وَكَانَ لِشِيشَانَ عَبْدٌ مِصْرِيٌّ ٱسْمُهُ يَرْحَعُ، | ٣٤ 34 |
Sheshan had no sons, he only had daughters, but he did have an Egyptian servant named Jarha.
| فَأَعْطَى شِيشَانُ ٱبْنَتَهُ لِيَرْحَعَ عَبْدِهِ ٱمْرَأَةً، فَوَلَدَتْ لَهُ عَتَّايَ. | ٣٥ 35 |
So Sheshan gave his daughter in marriage to his servant Jarha, and she bore him Attai.
| وَعَتَّايُ وَلَدَ نَاثَانَ، وَنَاثَانُ وَلَدَ زَابَادَ، | ٣٦ 36 |
Attai was the father of Nathan. Nathan was the father of Zabad,
| وَزَابَادُ وَلَدَ أَفْلَالَ، وَأَفْلَالُ وَلَدَ عُوبِيدَ، | ٣٧ 37 |
Zabad was the father of Ephlal, Ephlal was the father of Obed,
| وَعُوبِيدُ وَلَدَ يَاهُوَ، وَيَاهُو وَلَدَ عَزَرْيَا، | ٣٨ 38 |
Obed was the father of Jehu, Jehu was the father of Azariah,
| وَعَزَرْيَا وَلَدَ حَالَصَ، وَحَالَصُ وَلَدَ إِلْعَاسَةَ، | ٣٩ 39 |
Azariah was the father of Helez, Helez was the father of Eleasah,
| وَإِلْعَاسَةُ وَلَدَ سِسَمَايَ، وَسِسَمَايُ وَلَدَ شَلُّومَ، | ٤٠ 40 |
Eleasah was the father of Sismai, Sismai was the father of Shallum,
| وَشَلُّومُ وَلَدَ يَقَمْيَةَ، وَيَقَمْيَةُ وَلَدَ أَلِيشَمَعَ. | ٤١ 41 |
Shallum was the father of Jekamiah, and Jekamiah was the father of Elishama.
| وَبَنُو كَالَبَ أَخِي يَرْحَمْئِيلَ: مِيشَاعُ بِكْرُهُ. هُوَ أَبُو زِيفَ. وَبَنُو مَرِيشَةَ أَبِي حَبْرُونَ. | ٤٢ 42 |
The sons of Caleb, the brother of Jerahmeel: Mesha his firstborn, who was the father of Ziph, and his son Mareshah, who was the father of Hebron.
| وَبَنُو حَبْرُونَ: قُورَحُ وَتَفُّوحُ وَرَاقَمُ وَشَامَعُ. | ٤٣ 43 |
The sons of Hebron: Korah, Tappuah, Rekem, and Shema.
| وَشَامَعُ وَلَدَ رَاقَمَ أَبَا يَرُقْعَامَ. وَرَاقَمُ وَلَدَ شَمَّايَ. | ٤٤ 44 |
Shema was the father of Raham, and Raham the father of Jorkeam. Rekem was the father of Shammai.
| وَٱبْنُ شَمَّايَ مَعُونُ، وَمَعُونُ أَبُو بَيْتِ صُورَ. | ٤٥ 45 |
Shammai's son was Maon, and Maon was the father of Beth Zur.
| وَعِيفَةُ سُرِّيَّةُ كَالَبَ وَلَدَتْ: حَارَانَ وَمُوصَا وَجَازِيزَ. وَحَارَانُ وَلَدَ جَازِيزَ. | ٤٦ 46 |
Ephah, Caleb's concubine, was the mother of Haran, Moza, and Gazez. Haran was the father of Gazez.
| وَبَنُو يَهْدَايَ: رَجَمُ وَيُوثَامُ وَجِيشَانُ وَفَلَطُ وَعِيفَةُ وَشَاعَفُ. | ٤٧ 47 |
The sons of Jahdai: Regem, Jotham, Geshan, Pelet, Ephah, and Shaaph.
| وَأَمَّا مَعْكَةُ سُرِّيَّةُ كَالَبَ فَوَلَدَتْ: شَبَرَ وَتَرْحَنَةَ. | ٤٨ 48 |
Maacah, Caleb's concubine, was the mother of Sheber and Tirhanah.
| وَوَلَدَتْ شَاعَفُ أَبَا مَدْمَنَّةَ، وَشَوَا أَبَا مَكْبِينَا وَأَبَا جَبَعَا. وَبِنْتُ كَالَبَ عَكْسَةُ. | ٤٩ 49 |
She was also the mother of Shaaph, the father of Madmannah, and of Sheva, the father of Macbenah and Gibea. Caleb's daughter was Acsah.
| هَؤُلَاءِ هُمْ بَنُو كَالَبَ بْنِ حُورَ بِكْرِ أَفْرَاتَةَ. شُوبَالُ أَبُو قَرْيَةِ يَعَارِيمَ | ٥٠ 50 |
These are all the descendants of Caleb. The sons of Hur the firstborn of Ephrathah: Shobal, the father of Kiriath Jearim,
| وَسَلْمَا أَبُو بَيْتِ لَحْمٍ، وَحَارِيفُ أَبُو بَيْتِ جَادِيرَ. | ٥١ 51 |
Salma, the father of Bethlehem, and Hareph, the father of Beth Gader.
| وَكَانَ لِشُوبَالَ أَبِي قَرْيَةِ يَعَارِيمَ بَنُونَ: هَرُوَاهُ وَحَصِي هَمَّنُوحُوتَ. | ٥٢ 52 |
The descendants of Shobal the father of Kiriath Jearim were: Haroeh, half the Manahathites,
| وَعَشَائِرُ قَرْيَةِ يَعَارِيمَ: ٱلْيَثْرِيُّ وَٱلْفُوتِيُّ وَٱلشَّمَاتِيُّ وَٱلْمَشْرَاعِيُّ. مِنْ هَؤُلَاءِ خَرَجَ ٱلصَّرْعِيُّ وَٱلْأَشْتَأُولِيُّ. | ٥٣ 53 |
and the families of Kiriath Jearim: the Ithrites, Puthites, Shumathites, and Mishraites. From these descended the Zorathites and Eshtaolites.
| بَنُو سَلْمَا: بَيْتُ لَحْمٍ وَٱلنَّطُوفَاتِيُّ وَعَطْرُوتُ بَيْتِ يُوآبَ وَحَصِي ٱلْمَنُوحِيِّ ٱلصَّرْعِيِّ. | ٥٤ 54 |
The descendants of Salma: Bethlehem, the Netophathites, Atroth Beth Joab, half the Manahathites, the Zorites,
| وَعَشَائِرُ ٱلْكَتَبَةِ سُكَّانِ يَعْبِيصَ: تَرْعَاتِيمُ وَشَمْعَاتِيمُ وَسُوكَاتِيمُ. هُمُ ٱلْقِينِيُّونَ ٱلْخَارِجُونَ مِنْ حَمَّةَ أَبِي بَيْتِ رَكَابَ. | ٥٥ 55 |
and the families of scribes who lived at Jabez: the Tirathites, Shimeathites, and Sucathites. These are the Kenites who descended from Hammath, the father of the house of Recab.
