Psalmet 1

1 Lum njeriu që nuk ecën sipas këshillës të të pabesëve, që nuk ndalet në rrugën e mëkatarëve dhe nuk ulet bashkë me tallësit,

Happy are those who don't follow the advice of the wicked. They refuse to adopt the ways of sinful people, and they don't make fun of others.

2 por që gjen kënaqësinë e tij në ligjin e Zotit, dhe që mendon thellë ditë e natë mbi ligjin e tij.

Instead they love to do what the law of the Lord says, and they think about it day and night.

3 Ai do të jetë si një pemë e mbjellë gjatë brigjeve të ujit, që jep frytin e tij në stinën e tij dhe të cilit gjethet nuk i fishken; dhe gjithçka bën do të ketë mbarësi.

They're like trees growing by flowing rivers, producing fruit every season. Their leaves never wither, and they are successful in all they do.

4 Të tillë nuk janë të pabesët; janë si byku që era e shpërndan.

But it's not like that for the wicked! They are like chaff, blown away by the wind.

5 Prandaj të pabesët nuk do të përballojnë gjykimin, as mëkatarët në kuvendin e të drejtëve.

For this reason the wicked will not survive the judgment—sinners have no place among those who live right.

6 Sepse Zoti njeh rrugët të drejtëve, por rruga e të pabesëve të çon në shkatërrim.

For the Lord watches over those who follow the right way, but the way of the wicked leads to death.
