Psalmet 142

1 Unë i këlthas me zërin tim Zotit; me zërin tim i lutem Zotit.

[A Psalm] of instruction for David, when he was in the cave, —a Prayer. I cried to the Lord with my voice; with my voice I made supplication to the Lord.

2 Para tij paraqes vajtimin tim, para tij parashtroj fatkeqësinë time.

I will pour out before him my supplication: I will declare before him mine affliction.

3 Kur fryma po më dobësohej, ti e dije ecjen time. Ata kanë përgatitur një lak për mua te shtegu që po kaloja.

When my spirit was fainting within me, then thou knewest my paths; in the very way wherein I was walking, they hid a snare for me.

4 Vështroj në të djathtën time dhe ja: nuk ka njeri që të më njohë; çdo rrugë shpëtimi është e mbyllur; asnjeri nuk kujdeset për jetën time.

I looked on [my] right hand, and behold, for there was none that noticed me; refuge failed me; and there was none that cared for my soul.

5 Unë të këlthas ty, o Zot, dhe të them: “Ti je streha ime, pjesa ime në tokën e të gjallëve.

I cried unto thee, O Lord, and said, Thou art my hope, my portion in the land of the living.

6 Dëgjo me vëmendje klithmën time, sepse jam katandisur si mos më keq; më çliro nga përndjekësit e mi, sepse janë më të fortë se unë.

Attend to my supplication, for I am brought very low; deliver me from them that persecute me; for they are stronger than I.

7 Më nxirr nga burgu që të mund të kremtoj emrin tënd. Të drejtët do të mblidhen tok rreth meje, sepse ti do të më mbushësh me të mira”.

Bring my soul out of prison, that I may give thanks to thy name, O Lord; the righteous shall wait for me, until thou recompense me.
