1 Bijtë e Izraelit bënë atë që është e keqe në sytë e Zotit dhe Zotit i dha në duart e Madianit shtatë vjet me radhë.
Forsothe the sones of Israel diden yuel in the `siyt of the Lord, and he bitook hem in the hond of Madian seuene yeer.
2 Dora e Madianit u bë e fortë kundër Izraelit; nga frika e Madianitëve, bijtë e Izraelit bënë shpella në male, si dhe guva dhe fortesa.
And thei weren oppressid of hem greetly; and `thei maden dichis, and dennes to hem silf in hillis, and strongeste places to fiyte ayen.
3 Kur Izraeli mbaronte së mbjelluri, Madianitët bashkë me Amalekitët dhe bijtë e lindjes niseshin kundër tij,
And whanne Israel hadde sowe, Madian stiede, and Amalech, and othere of the `naciouns of the eest;
4 e ngrinin kampin e tyre kundër Izraelitëve, shkatërronin të gjitha prodhimet e vendit deri në Gaza dhe nuk linin në Izrael as mjete jetese, as dhen, as lopë, as gomarë.
and thei settiden tentis at the sones of Israel, and wastiden alle thingis `as tho weren in eerbis, ethir grene corn, `til to the entryng of Gaza, and outirli thei leften not in Israel ony thing perteynynge to lijf, not scheep, not oxun, not assis.
5 Sepse niseshin me bagëtinë e tyre dhe me çadrat e tyre, dhe arrinin të shumtë si karkalecat; ata dhe devetë e tyre ishin të panumërt dhe vinin në vend për ta shkatërruar.
For thei and alle her flockis camen with her tabernaclis, and at the licnesse of locustus thei filliden alle thingis, and a multitude of men and of camels was with out noumbre, and wastiden what euer thing thei touchiden.
6 Kështu Izraeli u katandis në një varfëri të madhe për shkak të Madianit, dhe bijtë e Izraelit i klithën Zotit.
And Israel was `maad low greetli in the siyt of Madian.
7 Kur bijtë e Izraelit e thirrën Zotin për shkak të Madianit,
And Israel criede to the Lord, `and axyde help ayens Madianytis; and he sente to hem a man,
8 Zoti u dërgoi bijve të Izraelit një profet, që u tha atyre: “Kështu flet Zoti, Perëndia i Izraelit: Unë ju nxora nga Egjipti dhe nga shtëpia e skllavërisë;
a profete, and he spak, The Lord God of Israel seith these thingis, Y made you to stie fro Egipt, and Y ledde you out of the hows of seruage,
9 ju çlirova nga dora e Egjiptasve dhe nga dora e të gjithë atyre që ju shtypnin; i dëbova para jush dhe ju dhashë vendin e tyre,
and Y delyueride you fro the hond of Egipcians, and of alle enemyes that turmentiden you; and Y castide hem out at youre entryng, and Y yaf to you `the lond of hem;
10 dhe ju thashë: “Unë jam Zoti, Perëndia i juaj; mos kini frikë nga perënditë e Amorejve në vendin e të cilëve banoni”; por ju nuk ma keni dëgjuar fjalën”.
and Y seide, Y am `youre Lord God; drede ye not the goddis of Ammorreis, in whose lond ye dwellen; and ye nolden here my vois.
11 Pastaj erdhi Engjëlli i Zotit dhe u ul nën lisin e Ofrahut, që i përkiste Joashit, Abiezeritit, ndërsa biri tij Gedeoni shtinte grurin në një vend të ngushtë për ta shpëtuar nga Madianitët.
Forsothe an aungel of the Lord cam, and sat undur an ook, that was in Effra, and perteynede to Joas, fadir of the meinee of Ezri. And whanne Gedeon, `his sone, threischide out, and purgide wheetis in a pressour,
12 Engjëlli i Zotit iu shfaq dhe i tha: “Zoti është me ty, o luftëtar trim!”.
that he schulde fle Madian, an aungel of the Lord apperide to hym, and seide, The Lord be with thee, thou strongeste of men.
13 Gedeoni iu përgjegj: “Imzot, në rast se Zoti është me ne, atëherë pse na ndodhën tërë këto? Ku janë mrekullitë që na kanë treguar etërit tanë duke thënë: “A nuk na nxori Zoti nga Egjipti?”. Por tani Zoti na ka braktisur dhe na ka lënë në duart e Madianit”.
And Gedeon seide to hym, My lord, Y biseche, if the Lord is with vs, whi therfor han alle these yuels take vs? Where ben the merueils of hym, whiche oure fadris telden, and seiden, The Lord ledde vs out of Egipt? `Now forsothe he hath forsake vs, and hath bitake vs in the hond of Madian.
14 Atëherë Zoti iu drejtua atij dhe i tha: “Shko me këtë fuqi që ke dhe shpëtoje Izraelin nga dora e Madianit. A nuk jam unë që po të dërgoj?”.
And the Lord bihelde to hym, and seide, Go thou in this strengthe of thee, and thou schalt delyuere Israel fro the hond of Madian; wite thou, that Y sente thee.
15 Ai iu përgjegj: “O Imzot, si mund ta shpëtoj Izraelin? Ja, familja ime është më e dobëta e Manasit, dhe unë jam më i vogli në shtëpinë e atit tim”.
Which Gedeon answeride, and seide, My lord, Y biseche, in what thing schal Y delyuere Israel? Lo! my meynee is the loweste in Manasses, and Y am the leeste in the hows of my fadir.
16 Zoti i tha: “Por unë do të jem me ty dhe ti ke për t’i mundur Madianitët sikur ata të ishin një njeri i vetëm”.
And the Lord seide to hym, Y schal be with thee, and thou schalt smyte Madian as o man.
17 Atëherë Gedeoni i tha: “Në rast se kam gjetur hirin tënd, më jep një shenjë se je ti ai që flet me mua.
And Gedeon seide, If Y haue foundun grace bifor thee, yyue to me a signe, that thou, that spekist to me, art sente of Goddis part;
18 Mos u largo, pra, që këtej para se të kthehem te ti, të të sjell blatimin e ushqimit dhe të ta vë përpara”. Zoti tha: “Do të pres sa të kthehesh ti”.
go thou not `awei fro hennus, til Y turne ayen to thee, and brynge sacrifice, and offre to thee. Whiche answeride, Y schal abide thi comyng.
19 Atëherë Gedeoni hyri në shtëpi dhe përgatiti një kec dhe kuleç pa maja me një efa miell; e vuri mishin në një shportë dhe lëngun në një kusi, ia çoi atij nën lisin dhe ia ofroi.
And so Gedeon entride, and sethide a kide, and took therf looues of a buyschel of mell, and fleischis in a panyere; and he sente the broth of fleischis in a pot, and bar alle thingis vndur an ook, and offride to hym.
20 Engjëlli i Zotit i tha: “Merre mishin dhe kuleçët pa maja, vendosi mbi këtë shkëmb dhe derdh mbi to lëngun e mishit”. Dhe ai veproi kështu.
To whom the aungel of the Lord seide, Take thou the fleischis, and therf looues, and putte on that stoon, and schede the broth aboue. And whanne he hadde do so,
21 Atëherë Engjëlli i Zotit shtriu majën e bastunit që kishte në dorë dhe preku mishin dhe kuleçët pa maja; e nga shkëmbi u ngrit një flakë që dogji mishin dhe kuleçet pa maja; pastaj Engjëlli i Zotit u zhduk nga sytë e tij.
the aungel of the Lord helde forth the `ende of the yerde which he helde in the hond, and he touchide the fleischis, and the therf looues; and fier stiede fro the stoon, and wastide the fleischis, and therf looues. Forsothe the aungel of the Lord vanyschide fro hise iyen.
22 Kështu Gedeoni e kuptoi se kishte të bënte me Engjëllin e Zotit dhe tha: “Vaj medet, o Zot, o Zot! Sepse e pashë Engjëllin e Zotit sy në sy!”.
And Gedeon siy that he was `an aungel of the Lord, and seide, Lord God, alas to me, for Y siy the aungel of the Lord face to face.
23 Zoti i tha: “Paqja qoftë me ty, mos ki frikë, s’ke për të vdekur!”.
And the Lord seide to hym, Pees be with thee; drede thou not, thou schalt not die.
24 Atëherë Gedeoni ndërtoi një altar për Zotin dhe e quajti “Jehovah Shalom”. Ai gjendet edhe sot në Ofrahun e Abiezeritëve.
Therfor Gedeon bildide there an auter to the Lord, and he clepide it the Pees of the Lord, `til in to present dai. And whanne he was yit in Effra, which is of the meynee of Ezri, the Lord seide to hym in that nyyt,
25 Po atë natë Zoti i tha: “Merr demin e atit tënd dhe demin e dytë shtatëvjeçar, shemb altarin e Baalit që i përket atit tënd, dhe rrëzo Asherahun që i qendron afër;
Take thou `the bole of thy fadir, and anothir bole of seuene yeer, and thou schalt distrie the auter of Baal, which is thi fadris, and kitte thou doun the wode, which is aboute the auter;
26 pastaj ndërto një altar për Zotin, Perëndinë tënd, në majë të këtij shkëmbi simbas rregullit të caktuar; pastaj merr demin e dytë dhe ofroje si olokaust mbi lëndën e drurit të Asherahut që do të kesh rrëzuar”.
and thou schalt bilde an auter to thi Lord God in the hiynesse of this stoon, on which thou puttidist sacrifice bifore; and thou schalt take the secounde bole, and thou schalt offre brent sacrifice on the heep of trees, whiche thou kittidist doun of the wode.
27 Atëherë Gedeoni mori dhjetë burra në mes të shërbëtorëve të tij dhe veproi ashtu siç i kishte thënë Zoti; por me qenë se kishte frikë nga shtëpia e atit të tij dhe nga njerëzit e qytetit, në vend që ta bënte këtë punë ditën, e bëri natën.
Therfore Gedeon took ten men of hise seruauntis, and dide as the Lord comaundide to hym. Sotheli Gedeon dredde the hows of his fadir, and the men of that citee, and nolde do bi dai, but fillide alle thingis bi nyyt.
28 Kur të nesërmen në mëngjes njerëzit e qytetit u ngritën, panë që altari i Baalit ishte shembur, që Asherahu që ndodhej pranë tij ishte rrëzuar dhe që demi i dytë ishte ofruar si olokaust mbi altarin që ishte ndërtuar.
And whanne men of that citee hadde rise eerly, thei sien the auter of Baal distried, and the wode kit doun, and the tothir bole put on the auter, that was bildid thanne.
29 Dhe i thanë njeri tjetrit: “Kush e bëri këtë?”. Kur pastaj u informuan dhe pyetën, atyre u thanë: “Gedeoni, bir i Joashit, e bëri këtë”.
And thei seiden togidere, Who hath do this? And whanne thei enqueriden the doer of the deed, it was seid, Gedeon, the sone of Joas, dide alle these thingis.
30 Atëherë njerëzit e qytetit i thanë Joashit: “Nxirr jashtë birin tënd dhe të dënohet me vdekje se ka shembur altarin e Baalit dhe ka rrëzuar Asherahun që ndodhej pranë tij”.
And thei seiden to Joas, Brynge forth thi sone hidur, that he die, for he distriede the auter of Baal, and kittide doun the wode.
31 Joashi iu përgjegj të gjithë atyre që ishin ngritur kundër tij: “Ju doni ta mbroni çështjen e Baalit ose ta ndihmoni atë? Ai që do të kërkojë të mbrojë çështjen e tij do të vritet para mëngjesit të ditës së nesërme. Në rast se ai është zoti, le ta mbrojë vetë çështjen e tij, sepse i kanë shembur altarin e tij”.
To whiche he answeride, Whether ye ben the venieris of Baal, that ye fiyte for hym? he that is aduersarie of hym, die, bifor that the `liyt of the morew dai come; if he is God, venge he hym silf of hym that castide doun his auter.
32 Prandaj atë ditë Gedeoni u mbiquajt Jerubaal, sepse u tha: “Le të jetë Baali që të luftojë kundër tij, sepse ai ia ka shembur atij altarin”.
Fro that dai Gedeon was clepid Gerobaal, for Joas hadde seid, Baal take veniaunce of hym that castide doun his auter.
33 Tërë Madianitët, Amalekitët dhe bijtë e lindjes u mblodhën, kaluan Jordanin dhe ngritën kampin e tyre në luginën e Jizreelit.
Therfor al Madian, and Amalech, and the puplis of the eest weren gadirid to gidere, and passiden Jordan, and settiden tentis in the valey of Jezrael.
34 Por Fryma e Zotit depërtoi te Gedeoni që i ra borisë; dhe Abiezeritët u thirrën që t’i shkonin pas.
Forsothe the spirit of the Lord clothide Gedeon; `and he sownede with a clarioun, and clepide to gidere the hows of Abiezer, that it schulde sue hym.
35 Ai dërgoi lajmëtarë edhe në tërë Manasin, i cili u thirr gjithashtu që t’i shkonte pas; dërgoi lajmëtarë edhe te fiset e Asherit, të Zabulonit dhe të Neftalit, të cilët u nisën për të takuar të tjerët.
And he sente messangeris in to al Manasses, and he suede Gedeon; and he sente othere messangeris in to Aser, and Zabulon, and Neptalym, whiche camen to hym.
36 Pastaj Gedeoni i tha Perëndisë: “Në rast se ke ndër mend ta shpëtosh Izraelin me dorën time, siç ke thënë,
And Gedeon seide to the Lord, If thou makist saaf Israel bi myn hond, as thou hast spoke,
37 ja, unë do të vë një gëzof me lesh te lëmi: në rast se do të ketë vesë vetëm mbi gëzofin dhe gjithë vendi rreth e qark do të mbetet i thatë, atëherë do të kuptoj se ke ndërmend ta shpëtosh Izraelin me dorën time, ashtu si ke thënë”.
Y schal putte this flees of wolle in the corn floor; if dew is in the flees aloone, and drynesse is in al the erthe, Y schal wite, that thou schalt delyuere Israel bi myn hond, as thou hast spoke.
38 Dhe kështu ndodhi. Të nesërmen në mëngjes Gedeoni u ngrit herët, shtrydhi gëzofin dhe prej tij doli një kupë plot me ujë.
And it was don so. And he roos bi nyyt, and whanne the flees was wrongun out, he fillide a pot with deew;
39 Por Gedeoni i tha akoma Perëndisë: Mos u ndeztë zemërimi yt kundër meje; unë do të flas edhe një herë. Më lër ta bëj provën edhe një herë tjetër vetëm. Le të mbetet i thatë vetëm gëzofi dhe të ketë vesë mbi të gjithë vendin rreth e qark”.
and he seide eft to the Lord, Thi strong veniaunce be not wrooth ayens me, if Y asaie, `that is, axe a signe, yit onys, and seke a signe in the flees; Y preye, that the flees aloone be drie, and al the erthe be moist with deew.
40 Dhe Perëndia veproi ashtu atë natë; vetëm gëzofi mbeti i thatë, dhe pati vesë mbi të gjithë tokën rreth e qark.
And the Lord dide in that nyyt, as Gedeon axide; and drynesse was in the flees aloone, and deew was in al the erthe.
