Isaia 31
1 Mjerë ata që zbresin në Egjipt në kërkim të ndihmës dhe u besojnë kuajve, kanë besim te qerret, sepse janë të shumta dhe te kalorësit, sepse janë shumë të fuqishëm, por nuk shikojnë të Shenjtin e Izraelit dhe nuk kërkojnë Zotin.
Tragedy is coming to those who appeal to Egypt for help, depending on their horses and trusting in all their chariots and charioteers! They don't look to the Holy One of Israel for help; they don't ask the Lord for advice.
2 Megjithatë edhe ai është i urtë dhe do të sjellë gjëmën; ai nuk do t’i tërheqë fjalët e tij, por do të ngrihet kundër shtëpisë së njerëzve të këqij dhe kundër ndihmës së atyre që bëjnë paudhësi.
Yet he's also wise! He will bring disaster and won't withdraw his orders. He will take action against this wicked nation and the evil people who help them.
3 Por Egjiptasit janë njerëz dhe jo Perëndi, kuajt e tyre janë mish dhe jo frymë. Kur Zoti do të shtrijë dorën e vet, mbrojtësit do t’i merren këmbët dhe i mbrojturi do të rrëzohet, do të vdesin të gjithë bashkë.
The Egyptians are only human beings—they're not God! Their horses are only physical, not spiritual. When the Lord lifts up his hand to attack, those who came to help will stumble, and those who are helped will fall. They will all die together.
4 Sepse kështu më ka thënë Zoti: “Ashtu si luani apo luanesha vrumbullin mbi prenë e vet (kur kundër tij është mbledhur një numër i madh barinjsh dhe ai nuk ka frikë nga britmat e tyre dhe as trëmbet nga zhurma e tyre), kështu do të zbresë Zoti i ushtrive për të luftuar në malin e Sionit dhe në kodrën e tij.
This is what the Lord told me: It's like a young lion growling as it stands over its prey. Even though a lot of shepherds come to protest, it's not frightened off by their shouting or intimidated by all their noise. In the same way the Lord Almighty will come down to fight on Mount Zion.
5 Ashtu si zogjtë fluturojnë mbi të vegjëlit e tyre, kështu Zoti i ushtrive do të mbrojë Jeruzalemin, do ta mbrojë dhe do ta çlirojë, do ta kursejë dhe do ta shpëtojë”.
Like birds that hover above, so the Lord Almighty will take care of Jerusalem. He will protect it and save it; he will pass over it and rescue it.
6 Kthehuni tek ai nga i cili jeni larguar shumë, o bij të Izraelit!
Come back, Israelites, to the one you so blatantly rebelled against.
7 Atë ditë secili do të flakë idhujt e tij prej argjendi dhe idhujt e tij prej ari, që duart tuaja kanë bërë duke mëkatuar për ju.
For at that time every one of you will throw away all the idols of silver and gold made by your own sinful hands.
8 “Atëherë Asiria do të bjerë nga një shpatë jo prej njeriu, dhe një shpatë jo prej njeriu do ta përpijë; do t’ia mbathë para shpatës dhe të rinjtë e tij do t’i nënshtrohen punës së detyruar.
The Assyrians will be killed by the sword of one who is not a man. They will destroyed by the sword of one who is not mortal. They will run away at the sight of the sword, and the young Assyrian men will be taken away as slave laborers.
9 Nga frika do të kalojë përtej kështjellës dhe princat e saj do të tmerrohen për shkak të flamurit”, thotë Zoti, që ka zjarrin e tij në Sion dhe furrën e tij në Jeruzalem.
Their “rock” will be scared to death, and their officers will be terrified and in panic at the sight of the battle flag, declares the Lord, who has his fire in Zion, and his furnace in Jerusalem.
