Isaia 2

1 Fjala që Isaia, bir i Amotsit, pati si vegim lidhur me Judën dhe Jeruzalemin.

The worde that Isaiah the sonne of Amoz sawe vpon Iudah and Ierusalem.

2 Në ditët e fundit do të vij që mali ku ndodhet shtëpia e Zotit do të vendoset në majën e maleve dhe do të ngrihet mbi disa kodra, dhe këtu do të vershojnë tërë kombet.

It shall be in the last dayes, that the mountaine of the house of the Lord shalbe prepared in the top of the mountaines, and shall be exalted aboue the hilles, and all nations shall flowe vnto it.

3 Shumë popuj do të vijnë duke thënë: “Ejani, të ngjitemi në malin e Zotit, në shtëpinë e Perëndisë të Jakobit; ai do të na mësojë rrugët e tij dhe ne do të ecim në shtigjet e tij”. Sepse nga Sioni do të dalë ligji dhe nga Jeruzalemi fjala e Zotit.

And many people shall go, and say, Come, and let vs go vp to the mountaine of the Lord, to the house of the God of Iaakob, and hee will teach vs his wayes, and we will walke in his paths: for the Lawe shall go foorth of Zion, and the worde of the Lord from Ierusalem,

4 Ai do të sigurojë drejtësi midis kombeve dhe do të qortojë shumë popuj. Do t’i farkëtojnë shpatat e tyre duke i kthyer në plugje dhe heshtat e tyre në drapinj; një komb nuk ka për të ngritur shpatën kundër një kombi tjetër dhe nuk do të mësojnë më luftën.

And he shall iudge among the nations, and rebuke many people: they shall breake their swords also into mattocks, and their speares into siethes: nation shall not lift vp a sworde against nation, neither shall they learne to fight any more.

5 O shtëpi e Jakobit, ejani dhe të ecim në dritën e Zotit!

O house of Iaakob, come ye, and let vs walke in the Lawe of the Lord.

6 Sepse ti, o Zot, ke braktisur popullin tënd, shtëpinë e Jakobit, sepse janë plot me praktika lindore, ushtrojnë magjinë si Filistejtë, lidhin aleanca me bijtë e të huajve.

Surely thou hast forsaken thy people, the house of Iaakob, because they are full of the East maners, and are sorcerers as the Philistims, and abound with strange children.

7 Vendi i tyre është plot me argjend dhe me ar dhe thesaret e tyre nuk kanë fund; vendi i tyre është plot me kuaj dhe qerret e tyre s’kanë të sosur.

Their land also was full of siluer and golde, and there was none ende of their treasures: and their land was full of horses, and their charets were infinite.

8 Vendi i tyre është plot me idhuj; bien përmbys përpara veprës së vetë duarve të tyre, përpara atyre gjërave që kanë bërë gishtat e tyre.

Their land also was full of idols: they worshipped the worke of their owne hands, which their owne fingers haue made.

9 Prandaj njeriu i zakonshëm përulet dhe njeriu i shquar ulet, por ti nuk i fal.

And a man bowed himselfe, and a man humbled himselfe: therefore spare them not.

10 Hyr në shkëmb dhe fshihu në pluhurin përpara tmerrit të Zotit dhe përpara shkëlqimit të madhërisë së tij.

Enter into the rocke, and hide thee in the dust from before the feare of the Lord, and from the glory of his maiestie.

11 Vështrimi krenar i njeriut do të ulet dhe krenaria e vdekatarëve do të përulet; vetëm Zoti do të lartësohet atë ditë.

The hie looke of man shall be humbled, and the loftinesse of men shalbe abased, and the Lord onely shall be exalted in that day.

12 Sepse dita e Zotit të ushtrive do të vijë kundër çdo gjëje krenare dhe kryelartë dhe kundër çdo gjëje që ngrihet, për ta ulur,

For the day of the Lord of hostes is vpon all the proude and hautie, and vpon all that is exalted: and it shalbe made lowe.

13 kundër gjithë kedrave të Libanit, të lartë dhe të ngritur, dhe kundër të gjitha lisave të Bashanit,

Euen vpon all the cedars of Lebanon, that are hie and exalted, and vpon all the okes of Bashan,

14 kundër të gjitha maleve të larta dhe kodrave të larta;

And vpon all the hie mountaines, and vpon all the hilles that are lifted vp,

15 kundër çdo kulle shumë të lartë dhe kundër çdo muri të fortifikuar,

And vpon euery hie tower, and vpon euery strong wall,

16 kundër gjithë anijeve të Tarshishit dhe kundër të gjitha gjërave të këndshme.

And vpon all the shippes of Tarshish, and vpon all pleasant pictures.

17 Kryelartësia e njeriut do të ulet dhe krenaria e njerëzve të shquar do të përulet; vetëm Zoti do të lartësohet atë ditë.

And the hautinesse of men shalbe brought low, and the loftinesse of men shalbe abased, and the Lord shall onely be exalted in that day.

18 Idhujt do të hiqen plotësisht.

And the idoles will he vtterly destroy.

19 Njerëzit do të hyjnë në shpellat e shkëmbinjve dhe në guvat e tokës përpara tmerrit të Zotit dhe shkëlqimit të madhërisë së tij, kur do të ngrihet për ta bërë tokën të dridhet.

Then they shall goe into the holes of the rockes, and into the caues of the earth, from before the feare of the Lord, and from the glory of his maiestie, when he shall arise to destroy the earth.

20 Në këtë ditë njerëzit do t’ua hedhin minjve dhe lakuriqve të natës idhujt e tyre prej argjendi dhe idhujt e tyre prej ari, që i kanë prodhuar për t’i adhuruar,

At that day shall man cast away his siluer idoles, and his golden idoles (which they had made themselues to worship them) to the mowles and to the backes,

21 për t’u futur në të çarat e shkëmbinjve dhe në greminat e krepave para tmerrit të Zotit dhe shkëlqimit të madhërisë së tij, kur do të ngrihet për ta bërë tokën të dridhet.

To goe into the holes of the rockes, and into the toppes of the ragged rockes from before the feare of the Lord, and from the glory of his maiestie, when he shall rise to destroy the earth.

22 Mos kini më besim te njeri, në flegrat e të cilit nuk ka veç se një frymë; si mund të mbështetesh te ai?

Cease you from the man whose breath is in his nostrels: for wherein is he to be esteemed?
