1 Atëherë mbreti dërgoi njerëz për të mbledhur pranë vetes tërë pleqtë e Judës dhe të Jeruzalemit.
And thei telden to the kyng that, that sche seide; `which kyng sente, and alle the elde men of Juda, and of Jerusalem, weren gaderid to hym.
2 Mbreti u ngjit pastaj në shtëpinë e Zotit dhe me të u ngjitën tërë njerëzit e Judës, tërë banorët e Jeruzalemit, priftërinjtë, profetët dhe tërë populli, nga më i madhi deri te më i vogli; dhe ai lexoi në prani të tyre tërë fjalët e librit të besëlidhjes, që ishte gjetur në shtëpinë e Zotit.
And the kyng stiede in to the temple of the Lord, and alle the men of Juda, and alle men that dwelliden in Jerusalem with hym, the preestis, and the prophetis, and al the puple, fro litil `til to greet; and he redde, while alle men herden, alle the wordis of the book of boond of pees of the Lord, which book was foundun in the hows of the Lord.
3 Pastaj mbreti, duke qëndruar më këmbë mbi podium, lidhi një besëlidhje përpara Zotit, duke u zotuar të ndiqte Zotin, të respektonte porositë dhe statutet e tij me gjithë zemër dhe me gjithë shpirt, për të zbatuar në praktikë fjalët e kësaj besëlidhje, të shkruara në atë libër. And the kyng stood on the grees; and he smoot boond of pees bifor the Lord, that thei schulden go aftir the Lord, and kepe hise comaundementis and witnessyngis and cerymonyes in al the herte and in al the soule, that thei schulden reise the wordis of this boond of pees, that weren writun in that book; and the puple assentide to the couenaunt.
4 Mbreti urdhëroi pastaj kryepriftin Hilkiah, priftërinjtë e rangut të dytë dhe derëtarët të çonin jashtë tempullit të Zotit objektet që ishin ndërtuar për Baalin, për Asherahun dhe për ushtrinë e qiellit;

5 Ai zhduku gjithashtu priftërinjtë idhujtarë që mbretërit e Judës kishin caktuar për të djegur temjan në vendet e larta të qyteteve të Judës e në rrethinat e Jeruzalemit, dhe ata që i digjnin temjan Baalit, diellit, hënës, shenjave të zodiakut dhe gjithë ushtrisë së qiellit.
And he dide awei false dyuynours `that dyuynyden in the entrailis of beestis sacrified to idols, whiche the kingis of Juda hadden sett to make sacrifice in hiy thingis bi the citees of Juda, and in the cumpas of Jerusalem; and he dide awey hem that brenten encense to Baal, and to the sunne, and to the moone, and to twelue signes, and to al the knyythod of heuene.
6 E çoi Asherahun nga shtëpia e Zotit jashtë Jeruzalemit në përruan e Kidronit; e dogji pranë përroit Kidron, e bëri hi dhe hirin e tij e hodhi mbi varret e njerëzve të popullit.
And he made the wode to be borun out of the hows of the Lord without Jerusalem in the euene valey of Cedron, and he brente it there; and he droof it in to poudir, and castide it forth on the sepulcris of the comyn puple.
7 Shembi edhe shtëpitë e njerëzve që merreshin me kurvërinë e shenjtë dhe që ndodheshin në shtëpinë e Zotit, ku gratë endnin çadra për Asherahun.
Also he distriede the litle housis of `men turnyd into wommens condiciouns, whiche housis weren in the hows of the Lord; for whiche the wymmen `maden as litil howsis of the wode.
8 Solli tërë priftërinjtë nga qytetet e Judës dhe përdhosi vendet e larta ku priftërinjtë kishin djegur temjan, nga Geba deri në Beer-Sheba. Rrëzoi gjithashtu vendet e larta të portave, që ishin në hyrje të portës së Jozueut guvernator i qytetit, që ishin në të majtë të atij që hyn në portën e qytetit.
And he gaderide alle the preestis fro the citees of Juda, and he defoulide the hiye thingis, where the preestis maden sacrifice, fro Gabaa `til to Bersabee; and he distriede the auters of yatis in the entryng of the dore of Josie, prince of a citee, which dore was at the lift half of the yate of the cytee.
9 Megjithatë priftërinjtë e vendeve të larta nuk u ngjitën në altarin e Zotit në Jeruzalem, por hëngrën bukë të ndorme në mes të vëllezërve të tyre.
Netheles the preestis of hiye thingis stieden not to the auter of the Lord in Jerusalem, but oneli thei eten therf looues in the myddis of her britheren.
10 Përveç kësaj ai përdhosi Tofethin, që ndodhej në luginën e bijve të Hinomit, me qëllim që asnjëri të mos kalonte birin apo bijën e tij nëpër zjarr për nder të Molekut.
Also he defoulide Tophet, which is in the euene valey of the sone of Ennon, that no man schulde halewe his sone ether his douytir bi fier to Moloch.
11 Pastaj ai hoqi kuajt që mbretërit e Judës i kishin kushtuar diellit në hyrje të shtëpisë të Zotit, pranë dhomës së eunekut Nethan-Melek, që ndodhej në oborr; dhe u vuri flakën qerreve të diellit.
Also he dide awei horsis, whiche the kyngis of Juda hadden youe to the sunne, in the entryng of the temple of the Lord, bisidis the chaumbir of Nathanmalech, geldyng, that was in Pharurym; forsothe he brente bi fier the charis of the sunne.
12 Mbreti shembi altarët që ishin mbi terracën e dhomës së sipërme të Ashazit dhe që mbretërit e Judës kishin ndërtuar, si dhe altarët që Manasi kishte bërë në dy oborret e shtëpisë të Zotit, i bëri copë-copë dhe hodhi pluhurin e tyre në përruan e Kidronit.
Also the kyng distriede the auteris, that weren on the roouys of the soler of Achaz, whiche auteris the kyngis of Juda hadden maad; and the kyng distriede the auteris, whiche Manasses hadde maad in the twei grete placis of the temple of the Lord; and he ran fro thennus, and scateride the askis of tho in to the strond of Cedron.
13 Mbreti përdhosi gjithashtu vendet e larta që ishin përballë Jeruzalemit; në jug të malit të korruptimit, që Salomoni, mbret i Izraelit, kishte ndërtuar për Ashtorethin, të neveritshmin e Sidonitëve, për Kemoshin, të neveritshmin e Moabit dhe për Milkomin, të neveritshmin e bijve të Amonit.
Also the kyng defoulide the hiye thingis, that weren in Jerusalem at the riyt part of the hil of offencioun, whiche Salomon, kyng of Israel, hadde bildid to Astroth, the ydol of Sidoneis, and to Chamos, the offencioun of Moab, and to Melchon, abhominacioun of the sones of Amon;
14 Ai i bëri copë-copë edhe shtyllat e shenjta, rrëzoi Asherimet dhe mbushi vendet e tyre me kocka njerëzore.
and he al to-brak ymagis, and kittide doun wodis, and fillide the places of tho with the boonys of deed men.
15 Rrëzoi gjithashtu altarin që ishte në Bethel dhe vendin e lartë të ndërtuar nga Jeroboami, bir i Nebatit që e kishte bërë Izraelin të mëkatonte; e dogji vendin e lartë sa e bëri pluhur; dogji edhe Asherahun.
Ferthermore also he distriede the auter that was in Bethel, and `he distriede the hiye thing, which Jeroboam, sone of Nabath, hadde maad, that made Israel to do synne; and he distriede that hiy autir, and brente it, and al to brak it in to poudir, and kittide doun also the wode.
16 Ndërsa Josia po kthehej, pa varrezat që ishin atje mbi mal; atëherë ai dërgoi njerëz që të merrnin kockat nga varrezat dhe i dogji mbi altar, duke e ndotur, sipas fjalës të Zotit, të shqiptuar nga njeriu i Perëndisë, që kishte paralajmëruar këto gjëra.
And Josias turnyde, and siy there sepulcris that weren in the hil; and he sente, and took the boonys fro the sepulcris, and brente tho on the auter, and defoulide it bi the word of the Lord, which word the man of God spak, that biforseide these wordis.
17 Pastaj tha: “Çfarë momumenti është ai që po shoh?”. Njerëzit e qytetit iu përgjigjën: “Éshtë varri i njeriut të Perëndisë që erdhi nga Juda dhe që shpalli kundër altarit të Bethelit këto gjëra që ti ke bërë”.
And the kyng seide, What is this biriel, which Y se? And the citeseyns of that citee answeriden to hym, It is the sepulcre of the man of God, that cam fro Juda, and biforseide these wordis, whiche thou hast doon on the auter of Bethel.
18 Ai tha: “Lëreni; asnjeri të mos prekë kockat e tij!”. Kështu ata i lanë kockat e tij së bashkë me kockat e profetit që kishte ardhur nga Samaria.
And the kyng seide, Suffre ye hym; no man moue hise boonys. And hise boonys dwelliden vntouchid with the boones of the prophete, that cam fro Samarie.
19 Josia hoqi gjithashtu tërë tempujt e vendeve të larta që ishin në qytetin e Samarisë dhe që mbretërit e Izraelit kishin ndërtuar për të nxitur zemërimin e Zotit. Ai u bëri pikërisht atë që kishte bërë në Bethel.
Ferthermore also Josias dide awei alle the templis of hiye thingis, that weren in the citees of Samarie, whiche the kyngis of Israel hadden maad to terre the Lord to ire; and he dide to tho templis bi alle thingis whiche he hadde do in Bethel.
20 Flijoi mbi altarët tërë priftërinjtë e vendeve të larta që ishin aty dhe dogji aty kocka njerëzore. Pastaj u kthye në Jeruzalem.
And he killide alle the preestis of hiye thingis, that weren there on the auteris, and he brente mennus boonus on tho auteris; and he turnede ayen to Jerusalem;
21 Mbreti i dha tërë popullit këtë urdhër: “Kremtoni Pashkën për nder të Zotit, Perëndisë tuaj, ashtu siç është shkruar në këtë libër të besëlidhjes”.
and comaundide to al the puple, and seide, Make ye pask to `youre Lord God, vp that, that is writun in the book of this boond of pees.
22 Me siguri një Pashkë e tillë nuk ishte kremtuar kështu nga koha e gjyqtarëve që e kishin qeverisur Izraelin, dhe as në tërë kohën e mbretërve të Izraelit dhe të mbretërve të Judës.
Forsothe sich pask was not maad, fro the daies of iugis that demyden Israel, and of alle daies of the kyngis of Israel and of Juda,
23 Por në vitin e tetëmbëdhjetë të mbretit Josia kjo Pashkë u kremtua për nder të Zotit në Jeruzalem.
as this pask was maad to the Lord in Jerusalem in the eiytenthe yeer of kyng Josias.
24 Josia eliminoi edhe mediumët dhe magjistarët, hyjnitë familjare dhe idhujt, si dhe të gjitha shkeljet e neveritshme që shiheshin në vendin e Judës dhe në Jeruzalem, për të zbatuar në praktikë fjalët e ligjit, të shkruara në librin që prifti Hilkiah kishte gjetur në shtëpinë e Zotit.
But also Josias dide awei men hauynge fendis spekinge in her wombis, and false diuinouris in auteris, and `he dide awei the figuris of idols, and alle vnclennessis, and abhomynaciouns, that weren in the lond of Juda and in Jerusalem, that he schulde do the wordis of the lawe, that weren writun in the book, `which book Elchie, the preest, foond in the temple of the Lord.
25 Para tij nuk pati asnjë mbret që, si ai, t’i ishte kthyer Zotit me gjithë zemër, me gjithë shpirt dhe me gjithë forcën, sipas tërë ligjit të Moisiut; as pas tij nuk ka dalë ndonjë si ai.
No kyng bifor him was lijk hym, `that turnede ayen to the Lord in al his herte, and in al his soule, and in al his vertu, bi al the lawe of Moises; nether aftir hym roos ony lijk hym.
26 Megjithatë Zoti nuk e fashiti zemërimin e tij të zjarrtë që e kishte përfshirë kundër Judës, për shkak të gjithë provokimeve të kryera nga Manasi.
Netheles the Lord was not turned awei fro the ire of his greet veniaunce, bi which his strong veniaunce was wrooth ayens Juda, for the terryngis to ire by whiche Manasses hadde terrid hym to ire.
27 Kështu Zoti tha: “Do ta largoj edhe Judën nga prania ime, ashtu si largova Izraelin, dhe do ta flak këtë qytet, Jeruzalemin, që e unë kisha zgjedhur, dhe tempullin për të cilin kisha thënë: “Aty do të jetë emri im””.
Therfor the Lord seide, Y schal do awei also Juda fro my face, as Y dide awei Israel; and Y schal caste awei this citee, which Y chees, Jerusalem, and the hows `of which Y seide, My name schal be there.
28 Pjesa tjetër e bëmave të Josias dhe tërë ato që ka bërë a nuk janë të shkruara në librin e Kronikave të mbretërve të Judës?
Forsothe the residue of wordis of Josias, and alle thingis whiche he dide, whether these ben not writun in the book of wordis of daies of the kyngis of Juda?
29 Gjatë mbretërisë së tij, Faraoni Neko, mbret i Egjiptit, doli kundër mbretit të Asirisë në lumin Eufrat. Mbreti Josia marshoi kundër tij, por Faraoni e vrau në Meghido që në ndeshjen e parë.
In the daies of hym Farao Nechao, kyng of Egipt, stiede ayens the kyng of Assiriens, to the flood Eufrates; and Josias, kyng of Juda, yede in to metyng of hym, and Josias was slayn in Magedo, whanne he hadde seyn hym.
30 Atëherë shërbëtorët e tij e çuan të vdekur mbi një qerre nga Meghido deri në Jeruzalem, ku e varrosën në varrin e tij. Pastaj populli i vendit mori Jehoahazin, birin e Josias, e vajosi dhe e bëri mbret në vend të atit të tij.
And `hise seruauntis baren hym deed fro Magedo, and brouyte him in to Jerusalem, and birieden hym in his sepulcre; and the puple of the lond took Joachaz, sone of Josias, and anoyntiden hym, and maden hym kyng for his fadir.
31 Jehoahazi ishte njëzet e tre vjeç kur filloi të mbretërojë dhe e mbajti fronin tre muaj në Jeruzalem. E ëma quhej Hamutal, ishte bija e Jeremias nga Libnahu.
Joachaz was of thre and twenti yeer, whanne he bigan to regne, and he regnede thre monethis in Jerusalem; the name of his modir was Amychal, douyter of Jeremye of Lobna.
32 Ai bëri atë që është e keqe në sytë e Zotit, në të gjitha ashtu si kishin vepruar etërit e tij.
And he dide yuel bifor the Lord, bi alle thingis which hise fadris hadden do.
33 Faraoni Neko e lidhi me zinxhira në Riblah, në vendin e Hamathit, që të mos mbretëronte më në Jeruzalem, dhe i imponoi vendit një haraç prej njëqind talentesh argjendi dhe një talent ari.
And Farao Nechao boond hym in Reblatha, which is in the lond of Emath, that he schulde not regne in Jerusalem; and he settide `peyne, ether raunsum, to the lond, in an hundrid talentis of siluer, and in a talent of gold.
34 Pastaj Faraoni Neko bëri mbret Eliakimin, birin e Josias, në vend të atit të tij Josia, dhe e ndërroi emrin e tij në Jehojakimi. Pastaj mori Jehoahazin dhe shkoi në Egjipt, ku vdiq.
And Farao Nechao made kyng Eliachim, sone of Josias, for Josias, his fadir; and he turnede the name of hym Joachym; forsothe Farao took Joachaz, and ledde hym in to Egipt.
35 Jehojakimi i dha Faraonit argjendin dhe arin; por për të paguar paratë sipas urdhërit të Faraonit i vuri taksa vendit. Për të paguar Faraonin Neko, ai mblodhi argjendin dhe arin nga populli i vendit nga secili në bazë të vlerësimit të pronave të tij.
Sotheli Joachym yaf siluer and gold to Farao, whanne he hadde comaundid to the lond bi alle yeeris, that it schulde be brouyt, bi the comaundement of Farao; and he reiside of ech man bi hise myytis bothe siluer and gold, of the puple of the lond, that he schulde yyue to Pharao Nechao.
36 Jehojakimi ishte njëzet e pesë vjeç kur filloi të mbretërojë dhe mbretëroi njëmbëdhjetë vjet në Jeruzalem. E ëma quhej Zebidah, ishte bija e Pedaijahut të Rumahut.
