1 i Kronikave 14

1 Hirami, mbret i Tiros, i dërgoi Davidit lajmëtarë, dru kedri, muratorë, dhe marangozë për t’i ndërtuar një shtëpi.

And Chiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar timbers, and masons, and carpenters, to build a house for him.

2 Atëherë Davidi e pranoi që Zoti e kishte vendosur mbret të Izraelit, sepse mbretëria e tij qe lavdëruar shumë për shkak të popullit të tij, Izraelit.

And David knew that the Lord [had] designed him to be king over Israel; because his kingdom was highly exalted, on account of his people Israel.

3 Davidi u martua me gra të tjera në Jeruzalem dhe i lindën djem e vajza.

And David took more wives in Jerusalem: and there were born to David more sons and daughters.

4 Këto janë emrat e bijve që i lindën në Jeruzalem: Shamua, Shohabi, Salomoni,

And these [are] the names of those that were born, who were [born] to him in Jerusalem; Samaa, Sobab, Nathan, and Solomon,

5 Ibhari, Elishua, Elpeleti,

and Baar, and Elisa, and Eliphaleth,

6 Nagahu, Nefegu, Jafia,

and Nageth, and Naphath, and Japhie,

7 Elishama, Beelida dhe Elifeleti.

and Elisamae, and Eliade, and Eliphala.

8 Kur Filistejtë mësuan që Davidi ishte vajosur mbret i tërë Izraelit, dolën të gjithë në kërkim të Davidit. Sa e mësoi këtë, Davidi u doli përballë.

And the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel: and all the Philistines went up to seek David; and David heard [it], and went out to meet them.

9 Filistejtë arritën dhe u përhapën në luginën e Refaimit.

And the Philistines came and assembled together in the giants' valley.

10 Atëherë Davidi u këshillua me Perëndinë, duke thënë: A duhet të dal kundër Filistejve? A do të m’i japësh në duart e mia?”. Zoti u përgjigj: “Dil dhe unë do t’i jap në duart e tua”.

And David enquired of God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? and will you deliver them into my hand? And the Lord said to him, Go up, and I will deliver them into your hands.

11 Ata dolën në Baal-Peratsim, ku Davidi i mundi dhe tha: “Perëndia ka hapur me duart e mia një kalim midis armiqve të mi, si një kalim i hapur nga ujërat”. Prandaj i vunë këtij vendi emrin e Baal-Peratsimit.

And he went up to Baal Pharasin, and David struck them there; and David said, God has broken through enemies by my hand like a breach of water: therefore he called the name of that place, the Breach of Pharasin.

12 Filistejtë braktisën aty perënditë e tyre dhe Davidi urdhëroi që të digjeshin në zjarr.

And the Philistines left their gods there; and David gave orders to burn them with fire.

13 Më vonë Filistejtë filluan të shpërndahen nëpër luginë.

And the Philistines once more assembled themselves in the giants' valley.

14 Davidi u këshillua përsëri me Perëndinë, dhe Perëndia i tha: “Mos u dil prapa, por merru krahët dhe sulu mbi ta përballë ballsameve.

And David enquired of God again; and God said to him, You shall not go after them; turn away from them, and you shall come upon them near the pear trees.

15 Kur të dëgjosh një zhurmë hapash në majat e ballsameve, hidhu menjëherë në sulm, sepse Perëndia do të të dalë përpara për të mundur ushtrinë e Filistejve”.

And it shall be, when you shall hear the sound of their tumult in the tops of the pear trees, then you shall go into the battle: for God has gone out before you to strike the army of the Philistines.

16 Davidi bëri ashtu siç e kishte urdhëruar Perëndia, dhe ata mundën ushtrinë e Filistejve nga Gabaoni deri në Gezer.

And he did as God commanded him: and he struck the army of the Philistines from Gabaon to Gazera.

17 Kështu fama e Davidit u përhap në të gjitha vendet, dhe Zoti solli tmerrin e tij mbi të gjitha kombet.

And the name of David was [famous] in all the land; and the Lord put the terror of him on all the nations.
